Friday mailbag; Does this team remind you a bit of last year's Michigan squad? Obviously Michigan didn't stumble like ND vs NIU, but the stats are very similar. Passing; Michigan 213 yds/game, defense giving up 157. ND 191 yds/game, giving up 156. Rushing; Michigan 169 yds/game, giving up 90. ND 216 yds/game, giving up 129. Turnovers are similar. Riley Leonard has 19 total TDs thru 8 games, JJ McCarthy 25 for the full season. I'm not predicting a National Championship but it's kinda eerie how similar they are. The biggest difference statistically is Yds/ Attempt and Yds/ Catch. UM far out distances ND in those categories.
In some sense, opening up in Miami feels almost natural for freeman. He thrives and lives in this environment. You talked about how scary and bad it was the last time the Irish went… my 2 cents, could you imagine freeman and nd go into that environment next year a beat them? What could that say about the job freeman has done and the progress he has made in the program (and himself) since he has taken over? Depending how the rankings woken out, possibly see that game this year. What if he does it twice within a 12 month span? Possible mailbag question above? Either one or both. 😂
Friday mailbox. No one ever mentions to look on Marcus Freeman's face when he came out of the tunnel for the NIU game. Have you seen it? Was he confused, distracted we're not feeling well? Peacock still has the game streaming and you can see for yourself. It's quite a juxtaposition. They made a big deal of it the week before when he came out for the Texas a&m game.
Who will go 7-5? ND or the U? Reading your post again, I take it you mean the U, and, yeah, the press (like ESPN) would definately say that if the U goes 7-5. Conversely, if ND were to 7-5, ESPN would quick to how tough a team was because the beat ND!
Seeing how many B1G teams may end up with 1 loss at the end of the year, the NIU loss will REALLY hurt if that is ND's only loss. The 1 lose from those teams will be from better teams than NIU.
We need to come in with the same attitude as they treated us. It’s the very reason Lou Holtz said he wanted one more chance to go and play them in their house. We can still win with class and punch them in the mouth at the same time 2017 still lingers. I hope Marcus and the players understand why this game will be personal to ND fans far and wide.
Great show and Matt is great to talk to! Thanks for the cast! Go Irish!
Late November game in LA is one that need our full attention and energy
Happy Halloween! Go IRISH!! ☘️
Matt's a great and knowledgeable guest, thanks!

Catholics vs convicts mid 80s 58-7 loss was painful. Bad
Why is this not a home game against Miami?? they backed out this year, they should have to come to Notre Dame !!!!
Ohio State dont they have some injury issues as well? They spent 20 mil on NIL and barely beat Nebraska

Friday Mailbag: what do you think the percent chance we host a playoff game is? Outside of us winning out what needs to happen for us to host?
After Miami cowardly backed out of this year's game, ND should tell the ACC & Miami to get lost and never play them again
I'm guessing that's not what really happened. Can't get both in the playoffs if they played this season. Look for ND to win the next 4
Notre dame is gonna beat them and they’ll go 7-5 and everyone will say how soft NDs schedule is SMH
Miami, Arkansas, boise state, Texas A&M, and usc isn’t that bad.
Not to mention Boston college could be good next year

@@gregwasserman2635 sorry I meant Miami 7-5
@brendenstyre4784 , I thought that is what you meant. I have chemo fog and just had a stroke and I have to read things a couple of times these days.
I think with new and great o line look out.

Beware of the Trojans in Southern Cal
WTF? WHY REWARD those animals and Miami? WTF is WRONG with Notre Dame???
Start off with a win over the convicts!!! YES!!! ☘️☘️☘️
