Part of the reason Riley Leonard didn’t have more passing yards is because of all the turnovers that gave ND great field position. Can’t get many passing when you’re starting inside the opponent’s 40.
Yep. I will never understand why he was so stubborn in that game. Bring Angeli in and they win going away. Not that it really matters anymore in fact you could say it helped in the long run but still you can never outlive that loss unless you win a championship.
@joshblubaugh6050 I agree, but there is something weird about the transfer QBs under MF. Sam Hartman played horrible and didn't get replaced. I went to the Clemson game, and SH play and body language were horrible. Now, fans have to suffer through RL growing pains. I wonder at times if MF has no decision but to play them since ND spent so much NIL money. It's a weird situation when the fan base is calling for the backup QB.
@ it is frustrating . It’s one thing to stick with your guy through tough periods but great coaches don’t have any problems making moves for one game. Especially when you have an excellent backup. No doubt though that RL is improving in the passing game now.
ND plays the most underclassmen of any ranked team, that running game will be really dangerous in 2 years and if CJ Carr is half as good as we think then I think Notre Dame could really compete
The playoff committee looks at how teams improve and they have responded with gusto also Leanord a transfer QB really no off-season to work with players he came to South Bend off tore ACL
For the last few weeks, you're finally seeing what Notre Dame can be, but they're still evolving. And what they're end up. Being is a menace in the CPF this year.
If ND hopes to beat any SEC or Big Ten in playoffs, they will have to score points also in the air (especially if they fall behind). Riley Leonard has to do more than just 5 yard passes. He needs to attack down the field in order to open running game (their strength).
ND has given every team they've beat their worst loss of the season. Except the Louisville game, they have 3 losses, all by 7 points. Look at teams ranked higher than ND, then look at common opponents....ND's wins are more dominant.
Notre Dame fan here. No, we're not. Defense is fantastic, offense is alright. We're not national championship caliber. If we win it all though, you beat believe I'll change my tune and eat my hat. It'd be one of the happiest days of my life.
Finally, an ND fan that can call a spade a spade. I'm an ND fan and a realistic. Before we play a top defense. The OL needs to keep improving. ND needs to build on running between the tackles. RL needs to feel comfortable in the pocket and improve his accuracy to beat the top defenses. The high school playbook will not keep working against top defenses.
I don’t think they will win multiple games in the playoff. That being said I do think they can beat most teams in the country if they play their best with the exception of Oregon and Georgia.
You think the year Michigan lost to App St makes playoff(if applicable)with 11-1 season. You keep Michigan out of playoff. Your answer would match Notre Dames scenario
Norte Dame has a Strength of Record behind BYU, Iowa State & KState …… Norte Dane Strength of Schedule #60 is also behind BYU, Iowa State & Kstate, so why are they ranked ahead of?
ND would handle all three of those teams by two scores or more. The big 12 stinks .NDs defense is top 3 and may very well be the best in the country and that's with multiple starters out

Notre Dame is finally playing an RPO style offense which is basically the modern version of the classic option. It fits their personnel perfectly.

They will be just fine.
ND is peaking at the right time. If they were completely healthy, they would rightfully be in the championship conversation.

ND only allowed more than 20pts in one game. All sub 14 for all other teams. And how injured they are. Crazy
