If you think that's how it was made i feel bad for anyone that taught you in life. This stuff was planned a decade or so ago and is tied into you accepting much lower standards in your life, its all about reducing your quality of life in every aspect and your expectations while allowing them to charge more for vastly less things, basically the same thing every major corporation is doing and funny enough they all seem to be owned by the same group of investment companies like Blackrock and Vanguard.
If you think that Borderlands 3 plus the first season pass were basically the same price as Wonderlands plus the season pass (and there was no free content or seasonal events, less updates, etc.), it's staggering. Cartels, for instance, was better than any of the Wonderlands DLC and it was free.
Not to mention all the takedowns were free and you weren't forced to farm let's say final boss in one of them multiple times to unlock some piece of gear to become available as drop...
It’s a real shame, they really could of done anything because of the dnd nature of the game. So many possibilities for add on content and they pick the most boring option

The base game was also lacking in content, too. Maps felt more linear, and there weren't nearly as many side quests either. The story was also shorter. The game could have been great. The addition of melee weapons and spells did make it a lot more enjoyable. Also, the shorter campaign made it easier to play and level up other characters. However, having to do the chaos chambers for each character was annoying.
It's disgraceful that Gearbox marketed these chaos chamber clones with reskinned mobs as full DLC dungeons, anyone who bought the season pass or chaotic great edition got scammed. I have absolutely zero trust or respect for them anymore and they won't be getting any more money out of me. I'll also make sure to let everyone who's considering the game know not to get scammed by Gearbox's predatory monetisation. They shot themselves in the foot with this one, showing how greedy and cynical they are to the world and it's going to come back to bite them. Huge shame though, the game and studio had a lot of potential
i remember prepurchasing the edition with the season pass. played the game for a week, pretty much 100% it. when the first dlc came out i jumped back into the game for about 10 minutes. i thought i missed something but that was it lol, that was the whole dlc. didnt even bother with the other 3, i already knew they're all gonna be 10 minutes long
Same bro which is a shame cuz I absolutely loved the game besides the annoyance of no fast travel so you have to back track and remember where certain things are on the board. But shit this game should of got better dlc
That was almost like me with far cry 5, i came back tried the dlc for like 5 mins and hated it and left, ever since then i just buy games and decide on season pass later
honestly if you find the base game for 20-30$ it's actually worth buying, it's surprisingly fun, the only problem is imo the lack of end-game content, which in theory, just like in every other borderlands game, should have been solved by DLC's.
Another thing to mention for people dissatisfaction was that the "dlc" wasn't fully completable after purchase. They would become 'harder" every week until the 4th week where the content would be most challenging and every level would have different drops. That decision made some players put it on hiatus until you could run through 1 - 4 just to make the dlc "worth it or use offline mode to run through all of them the first week.
If look closely at the 4 areas where the main quests don't take place they have the DLC quest icons. To me the mirrors feel to familiar to the free events from Borderlands 3 like the Cartel event. The devs even refer to the Mirrors as PLC post launch content not DLC. I enjoyed Wonderlands at launch but stopped playing once the first PLC came out. It felt like Diablo 3 but with Borderlands gameplay. Game gives you the same burnout Diablo gives you, leaving out the adventure mode and seasonal play.
I honestly think the original base game was waaaaaaaayyy to short and they injected the story dlc they had planned...but even if we got those areas in paid dlc , it would've been to short as paid content. The developers really tried I guess. The PLC would've been released in between the dlc I assume
Sorry but the PLC term is just a cheap marketing tactic. You would still download post-launch content and calling it download content doesn't imply that you have to pay for it. They are effectively the same term with different connotations for whatever reason
@@llowballs the developers tried it is the suits holding them back, they could create an awesome game and they would have to split it into four pieces to make up for a season pass and additional paid content
It doesn't matter if this game is a stop gap till bl4 charging people for what should be a free update you can't set a bench mark with your previous games only to change the quality of your dlc when you have set the bar so high
I really loved Wonderlands when it first came out, I played nearly every day and I was so excited to have a Borderlands game where I could make my own character. I even logged in every so often to do the after-campaign dungeon for a few weeks after beating it cause I wanted better loot for the DLCs since I had bought the season pass. When the first DLC dropped I excitedly logged onto the game just to be met with a tiny area with the wheel of fate and what essentially amounted to a different version of the dungeon I had been grinding to earn gear for the DLCs. I logged off, hoping the future DLCs would be better. But after hearing absolutely zero talk of the other DLCs I eventually forgot I even had the game. Shame that it turned out so badly.
DLC and to early release ruined the game many prob first few weeks orso game overall pretty fun but those 2 choices they did made it dissapointed for me ate least
Ill be honest, tiny tinas wonderlands is a nice game imo but it is definitely not worth its price, i would happily buy wonderlands standard edition at 30 bucks
How are we comparing the price of these things while not mentioning BL2 came out 11 years ago? And that natural inflation in that time was about 24 percent. Which.... Is about the 30 percent increase in price. Are corporate expenses to continually rise while prices stay the same? Are we really mad about a $5 increase? Don't buy them of course if the value proposition doesn't meet your expectations but, to me, $10 is an extremely fair price. You literally cannot eat at McDonald's for 10 bucks. Total non issue.
Game was never a 8/10. Not even before the DLC shenanigans. The arena style gameplay is there because the world wasn't built. People just had rose colored glasses because the art style looks good.
I just played all 4 dlcs, thinking the area was only the first dlc with 4 dungeons and a progressing story of that witch lady. Holy Moly does it feel bad to know that that’s it. Buttstallion just died and I finished all the dlc… As a huge fan, this makes me really sad. The gameplay feels so great :(
Ive sadly given up on Gearbox entirely. Borderlands has always been about taking crazy weapons youve found and seeing what craziness you could make against a horde of monsters. BL2 did this amazingly and its DLCs opened new ways to make new builds or existing builds stronger with NEW weapons. BL3 nerfed things into the ground and made farming the focus so hard that only legendaries were useful and nothing else, and then the DLCs brought in copies of weapons that did what other wepaons did prenerf, locking weapons you loved behind paywalls. I was so happy to see Pre-sequel balancing come back and the game was fun with all weapons having a place. The DLCs were lacking but i had hope as they could have added new modifiers and new enemies to the chaos chambers, as lore wise its a realm of the craziest and most unbalanced DnD things your DM could ever think of, to be locked away forever. New mirrors meant crazier loot and things to see. I saw it as a win because every dlc focused on one thing and so there would be no division of resources. Even with all the money it made, it failed in giving anything other than increasing the number of chambers and making more weapons unviable. They added no new fun things to the chamber. Gearbox has lost me forever. No effort put into what they make, only going for money now. Ive lived long enough for my Borderlands franchise to be EA'd.
I played through borderlands 1-3 (and pre sequel) over 3 times each, due to vault hunter and true vault hunter modes. I only played wonderland once. Because it has no vault hunter or true vault hunter mode. I will be buying the next gearbox game AFTER it comes out, and has plenty of reviews. I don't want to not buy their next release, but i absolutely wont if it isn't replayable.
@@enriquealvarez6145 no im not BL2 there’s normal vault hunter and true vault hunter modes and BL1 BL3 BLTPS just have normal and vault hunter mode and wonderlands it’s just normal mode
@@forcelord9999 Well yeah obviously bl2 has 3 modes. (I don't know how's that relevant) But bl3 and pre sequel have true vault hunter hunter mode. (And maybe bl1 if you consider playthrough 2) So are you trolling or not?
I could maybe get behind the DLC if it all cost $10 total, but comparing it to previous DLCs I'd say it's worth maybe $5 without the new class. This was such a huge disappointment to see when I got TTW a few days ago and to see a Borderlands game fall to such a low.
This is the first Gearbox Borderlands universe game that’s launched under the new ownership of Embracer Group. I think people should get used to this, sadly
Almost all company want to make a minimum work for the biggest money grab... and they are just trying new stuff looking if people accept it. Sadly many online games like Valorant was accepted by people to have 20$ for a single skin.... for me it's ridiculous, but for some people it's normal price. I don't know from where they got it. Sine for 60-70$ you are getting 100% of a game. While in online games for 20$ you get one skin which is less than 5% of all skins in the item shop...
Since there’s a sale going on rn, I was having a hard time deciding which version to get. This was ridiculously helpful and informative. 👍 Thanks for saving me 20 bucks
If at the very least every PLC had 1 new class, then I could somewhat understand it, because it would at least added some replayability, but in this case it's worth buying just the fourth one, and just skip the first three. I still like the main game, but the PLC's I literally hate. Easily the worst DLC's I ever bought.
This game had SOOOOOO much potential, and I, like millions of others, feel like Gearbox robbed us. The "Post-Launch Content" was really just Headhunter Packs, and the only real value in them is the Wheel of Fate became the go-to farming spot. It makes me incredibly sad that all of the potential was wasted. Crabs, sharks, & snakes?!? Really?!? What a joke! I have 2,700 hours in BL2, 1,200 hours in BL3, and less than 300 in Wonderlands. I actually have more time in The Pre-Sequel than I do in TTWL, and I really disliked TPS. This game could have been brilliant, it could have become it's own franchise, and it could have made GBX a fortune if they hadn't half-assed it like they did. The game was abandoned by the developers, so it's only fitting that it was abandoned by the players. I paid $11.99 for BL2, and got my money's worth a hundred times over. I paid $200 for 2 copies of Wonderlands, and I feel cheated and robbed. NEVER AGAIN, Gearbox, never again.
I'm thinking that if Pitchford had stayed with the games, instead of heading up media development for the movie, that we'd probably have a much grander post game experience.
When me and a friend decided to buy the season pass, we were hoping that the people complaining were just the typical doomsayers... After we cleared the first DLC we realized how right those people were, and it quickly killed our enjoyment of the game, especially when the base endgame is just "spam boring rifts" in a way that's less engaging then Diablo 3's rift spamming Gearbox dropped the ball with this DLC, and I'm seriously worried about the potential Borderlands 4, especially after 3 being underwhelming compared to 2, and the disaster that is New Tales from the Borderlands
@@SubjectWealth Why would they? I mean in the comment you're replying to basically explicitly says " we didn't listen to reviews and bought it anyway." Gearbox has no incentive to actually make good dlc or games if people just consume without bothering to think.
I prepaid for the $90 version, and was highly disappointed in the DLC. I do have to wonder how it may have differed if Randy Pitchford had stayed in charge of game development and not switched off on going over to media (the movie).
The worst part is, while the presequel isn't the most loved game, it had ONE DLC..well one major dlc, but its considered one of the best borderlands dlcs story and location wise. Even if the dlc had just been an alternative campaign, just one. That would've beem more than enough. This is just sad.
All of y'all saying the base game is good are really generous it was essentially 3 hours long with about 5 hours of really lame side content to pad it out. Most of that was just one fucking area and it didn't even launch with true vault hunter mode all they gave you was the terrible chaos chamber that got spoiled by the shit drop rates forcing you to run it hundreds of times just for them to release more levels later. Imo the base game gets a 2 in terms of it being worth it's price and the dlc is a 1.
Classic case of the success going straight to the devs heads and they started cutting corners and ignoring what the fans wanted. After tps it was down hill and it’s probably never gonna recover. Sad but needed death on a franchise, i can still love and play 2 & 3 for years to come but probably never play anything else borderlands related.
And to add insults to injury the game doesn't even have a new game plus mode all the other Borderlands games have one except this one the campaign is too freaking easy I didn't even get killed by a boss not once major disappointment that I can't play it through on a tougher difficulty and get better loot and pulling a legendary is like trying to find a needle in the haystack
It boggles me that this game was already on sale on a couple occasions through steam within months of its release. I enjoyed the base game but so glad I avoided the dlc given how lacking the dlc is. Man Gearbox had lightning in a bottle with the franchise yet somehow squandered it. Sure there’s other variable outside their control but yeah, mighty bummed where we ended up.
To play devil's advocate, I can kind of see what they were going for with the Wonderlands DLC. I feels like they were trying something more focussed on grinding for loot than narrative; if I were a project manager looking at social media around the Borderlands series for player sentiment, I would probably draw the conclusion that's exactly what players wanted. Unfortunately, Wonderlands's premise favours narrative campaigns even more than the previous titles, so these DLC packs feel out of place and underwhelming. Yet another way Wonderlands puts me in mind of The Pre-Sequel.
@@SubjectWealth If they were approached and presented in a similar way to the Headhunter packs, I feel they would have been a lot better received; there isn't anything actually wrong with them in of themselves. But presented as part of the Season Pass, they were really not what was expected.
Is this a thing? When I saw that the standard edition doesn't include the performance optimization for new consoles ,does it mean that unless you get the other editions you might be stuck with an un-optimized mess ?
I bought this game ironically because I was so hyped. I knew nothing about tiny Tina except that she was in a video game I liked and was pretty good. So when they said they’d make a game based on that one character who was definitely my favorite I was so hyped. Can’t believe they broke my heart with all this greed. 😢🎉
Some stuff i hate is those exclusive weapons, like if you open your mail too soon your weapon will be at lvl 10, so you wait and wait to be max lvl and its seen that wonderlands got higher lvl gear then lvl 40, so there will be a lvl cap increase, so those exclusive weapons are rotting in your mail without knowing if they are good or bad or were good early game. But the number 1 thing i hate about wonderlands is armor, like in previous borderlands you had a boss that would drop 1 specific class mod for 1 class, with armor you got 7 classes that you can dual so 42 different armors and then the legendary armors got different elements or mods (lets take the elements), which can 210 different forms of 1 legendary armor and we are not finished yet, the drop chance can be somewhere between 6% to 33%, lets take 33%, so you need to kill a boss like 630 times just to get the correct legendary armor for your build. Lets take the worst farming armor of them all, the Brutal Stampede which rolls 2 out of 6 mods and got a 18% drop chance of a mirror boss, you need to kill the boss like 3496 times.
Borderlands, my favorite games. I absolutely love Wonderlands, the jokes, lots of bizarre weapons, the games, the search for hidden items,... and you name it all. This game has everything that will keep you busy for hours. I can play it for hours and times. Totally addicted to..
@@MILDMONSTER1234 Balance is fine in BL2. Maybe OP 10 is a bit too much but it's still manageable. But you're probably the kind of player who couldn't even handle UVHM. lol

Close to the Pre Sequel. Randy seems to do that with each spin-off that actually could make them lots more money. They take steam from the game with actual DLC campaigns and get people to invest the 30 bucks extra to guarantee the money. Maybe he'll use clever wording so "he didn't lie". Either way they destroy that branch of the franchise. For what?
I got the premium edition when it first launched because me and my brother planned to do our first playthroughs of the game and dlc together. We both enjoyed the game but found it disappointing in terms of end game and build variety. Then the dlc dropped and we each had our collective "is that?" moment. Neither of us have even touched the rest of the dlc and I personally haven't opened the game since. Just a massive disappointment overall.
The monetisation impacts the game more than you think, without these crappy DLCs you can't get the best quality of items when you unlock chaos levels, specifically you're left with two qualities of "chaos items" out of four available
I think this game sucks compared to bl3 solely on the disappointment that is the dlc. Sure even bl3's dlc weren't that good either in my opinion, but the sheer volume of content coming out was awesome. I think wonderlands would be a lot better if the dlc including at least two story dlcs and maybe a way to have a third fate maker class
Lack of content is what killed it. Base game and dlc both lacked content. The addition of 100 chaos levels also didn't help and instead made people just lose any interest they may have had. A third skill tree would also be a good addition to have with an increase in level cap.
Still don't understand how they could bungle one of the few things they had going for them with their post launch content. I know all they see are the numbers from a corporate standpoint, but I think their fans are pretty burned because of this entire debacle.
I never buy anything that the standard game. No DLC no season pass etc If the game isn't good enough as a stand alone then I don't play it. I tend to find I don't want to play beyond the core games anyway. Sometimes I might grab a DLC if it goes on a decent sale but other than that DLC is usually poor quality and not worth the money so best to avoid it at all costs.
I was super hyped for Wonderlands, I have hundreds hours in B1 and B2, played and finished all Borderlands games and love Tina´s Assault... didn´t like B3 much tho. But Wonderlands is the only one borderland-ish game which I never even finished... dunno why really. B2 is superior to all still.
@@Jon_Doe yeah..I had..I love DnD and Borderlands...2 of my favourite things. I am not sceptical by nature, so I was looking forward to it and it under delivered for me, it happens.
@Jon Doe borderlands 3 did have a bad launch, but it still is a decent game. The endgame is much better than Borderlands 2 endgame, too. Plus, there is more variety with builds in 3. However, the content before endgame I would consider worse.
@@rejd24 No. There is no build variety in BL3. Every character might as well be the same. Activate action skills to proc anoint > end action skill > rinse and repeat. Action skills have become completely irrelevant. It's all about anoints. The only exception to this is Zane. It's not just about "build variety" but about PLAYSTYLE variety and BL2 has that. BL3 does not.
I managed to snag Chaotic Great Edition for Xbox for about 50 USD, so I am not mad, just a bit disappointed how they managed to handle season pass content.
The Wonderlands DLCs are equivalent of what is completely FREE in Borderlands 3: TAKEDOWNS :) I absolutely hated the TTWL DLCs, completed each of them once, and never played again. Not to mention that the new gear in those DLCs was locked behind multiple difficulty levels, forcing you to do the "raids" (for the lack of better name) multiple times over and over, to unlock all the gear, as certain items locked behind last difficulty in each of those were really good end-game items for example: "Tyrant's Truth" armour ... I really hope that they will add a proper story driven DLC at some point...
Thankfully a friend bought the game for me. It was a fun romp but there is no justifying those DLC prices. You got twice the content with the BL2 Headhunter DLCs for HALF the price!
Just don't ever buy season passes on the games release before any dlc is even announced unless its like street fighter and you now it's just more characters or call of duty and you know its map packs.
Fair point, the analysis of the DLC was ment to not factor in deals and discounts as they aren’t always available to people (ex. If you buy the base game you can’t upgrade to the chaotic great version, you have to buy the season pass or individual packs). But would have been good to mention. Thanks for watching!
Wonderlands couldve made some of the best dlc ever and they conpletely forked it up like bro you already had a great game and all you had to do was make content of the same quality
Why they even called them DLCs in the first place pissed me off enough to stop playing it. End game of wonderlands is EXTREMELY lacking. There wasn't any reason for me to keep playing
I had never bought a season pass for Borderlands before so when this was announced I bought the chaotic great edition to get everything based on my experience with their previous games that came with quality dlc. Never doing that again. The base game is great and if it had new game+ or true vault hunter mode it would probably have been my most played game 2022, instead I have barely touched it since the first "dlc" came out. I hope they are not done with it and at least add the possibility to replay the game with your character so even if there wont be any real dlc there would at least be something more to do for those who dont want to grind the chaos chamber forever.
I Uninstalled after the first dlc I felt so cheated and promised to never buy another game from gearbox after finding out they were 5 minute mission I tried to get a refund and they constantly sent me back and forth only to find out oops guess the times up now screw tiny tina and gearbox they are greed driven and woke now and it's sad because this gane could've been so good but I have actually told multiple people to not even buy it on sale the weapon balance is bad just damn I could go on but I think everyone knows this game lacks any real passion or content
There is no way I'm gonna pay 60+ dollars for any video game - so I waited a year and just bought It for 30 dollars. As a borderlands fan, I must say I really really enjoy this game (maybe because I waited that long), but its not borderlands 2 for sure :)
This game's post launch monetization has made me weary of buying another borderlands game, its one thing for me to not jive with the game as its an obvious spin off sort of experiment than a true sequel or mainline game, but the way they handled all of the dlc felt very slimy and dishonest
I bought the game for $20 and if I really want to can upgrade to ps5 for $10 the dlc to me is not worth buying unless on sale but for $20 I got for me my favorite borderlands game
Now, compare all of this to a discounted Handsome Collection which ranges anywhere from 10 - 30 USD now. You get ALL of BL2's content (minus the Lilith DLC which is meh anyway), and The Pre-Sequel with all of its DLC.
How do you think this is a disaster if it is the exact same thing as bl2? It is even the same number of maps, 4. Pretty sure it's how they did the first one too. Not really sure what you think is a problem with any of this?
As a person that played every single DLC in Borderlands history, I don’t think I played a single “dlc” in Wonderlands. Shit the whole game was a DLC, and Dragons Keep was a mini game. And if this game is a 6.3 Pre sequel has to be a 8.
I just got them all on a ateam sale game was like $7 and the season pass was around $15. Haven't tried the dlc yet but so far main game was well worth the $$
It’s honestly so sad because the basegame was so much fun. Better than BL3. But the dlcs really just ruined the game for so many fans. It’s just disappointing
Pretty big shame for a game that was kinda billed as a labor of love to help people get through the lockdown, only for leadership to push it into a full regular monetisation scheme. Even the base game feels pretty short compared to a proper BL game. Not that it had to be as long on principle, especially not being stretched out by grinding or the like, but its just a bit greedy to sell a shorter game at full price.
I've played this game since day one and bought the most expensive version of the game and can say this is a fantastic assessment. the dlc was a huge let down, and was overpriced, but the game really is fantastic. what a disservice to a great game.
omg, people are just realizing this. This is why I didn't play any Borderlands games after BL2. When the pre-sequel, BL3, tiny tinas (anything else?) came out, I didn't get any of them. I figured I'd wait for a complete edition, because I knew they withheld content, to save for DLC. But i ended up losing interest in the game...waiting for complete editions. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands looks awesome, I was so excited when it was announced.... but i knew there would be DLC... so I didn't buy it. Now I have very little interest in buying it.
Wonderlands I personally really liked the game I ended up getting bored waited for dlc when it was released I didn't buy I watched reviews and did research them released we weren't getting story dlc so I stopped playing don't know if I'll play the game again it's good game just kinda small and I didn't care about driving around I just wish we got at least one big story dlc I feel like that's what messed the game up for me
Let’s just hope they learn from this egregious mistake and that this doesn’t set a precedent for Borderlands’ future. Borderlands 4 needs to build off of 3 in big ways while also taking some ideas from wonderlands like for example having dedicated melee weapons to make playing melee builds more fun and diverse. Oh and also better writing because BL3 replays are made borderline torturous because of the horrendous story and dialogue. They don’t even necessarily need another Handsome Jack, they just need to actually try this time to tell a decent story. Wonderlands was a step in the right direction but I’d also like to see some semi serious storytelling amongst the nonsense chaos. Sorta like how they did in Bounty Of Blood and the Krieg dlc. Also and this is more of a personal preference but I’d love for them to make legendaries actually feel like they matter and are a big deal. Like how Destiny 2 treats exotics but a bit less grindy/restrictive. Also just copy the seasonal system from that game so that there can be a bigger gap between dlcs to allow for further development time.
The irony of a game being created because of a great DLC (idea) having bad DLC is hilarious.

Exactly, I was really disappointed to find out what the Wonderlands DLC ended up being. So much potential wasted!
Or they enjoyed it because people have different tastes and preferences.
How did we get from Assault on Dragon Keep and Claptastic Voyage to this atrocity?
Brutal eh!
I just played all 4 dlcs, thinking the area was only the first dlc with 4 dungeons and a progressing story of that witch lady.
Holy Moly does it feel bad to know that that’s it.
Buttstallion just died and I finished all the dlc…
As a huge fan, this makes me really sad.
I don't want to not buy their next release, but i absolutely wont if it isn't replayable.
true vault hunter mode was only in BL2 tho
@@forcelord9999 Are you trolling?

Only good DLC was the Blightcaller adding a complete class
If BL3 had 2 DLC Vault Hunters it would be incredible
Almost all company want to make a minimum work for the biggest money grab... and they are just trying new stuff looking if people accept it.
Sadly many online games like Valorant was accepted by people to have 20$ for a single skin.... for me it's ridiculous, but for some people it's normal price. I don't know from where they got it. Sine for 60-70$ you are getting 100% of a game. While in online games for 20$ you get one skin which is less than 5% of all skins in the item shop...
I bought the season pass thinking we would get borderlands 3 level dlc which I thought were great, very disappointed in what we ended up getting
That dlc lost my goodwill, it's sad because the base game was great
I’m with y’a, even if they had told us what it was going to be and had priced it better it’s still would have bit a bit disappointing imo
Since there’s a sale going on rn, I was having a hard time deciding which version to get. This was ridiculously helpful and informative. 👍 Thanks for saving me 20 bucks
Wonderlands DLC wishes it was 1/100th the quality that Maliwan Takedown was! Sacrilege to those who compare this PLC dungeon crap to that masterpiece
unfortunately for Canadians such as my self the price is higher then 60$ for the base game its almost around 80$
If at the very least every PLC had 1 new class, then I could somewhat understand it, because it would at least added some replayability, but in this case it's worth buying just the fourth one, and just skip the first three.
I still like the main game, but the PLC's I literally hate. Easily the worst DLC's I ever bought.
The games scaling and build diversity is a slap in the face compared to bl3.
After we cleared the first DLC we realized how right those people were, and it quickly killed our enjoyment of the game, especially when the base endgame is just "spam boring rifts" in a way that's less engaging then Diablo 3's rift spamming
Gearbox dropped the ball with this DLC, and I'm seriously worried about the potential Borderlands 4, especially after 3 being underwhelming compared to 2, and the disaster that is New Tales from the Borderlands
Hopefully they can turn it around in BL4!
@@SubjectWealth Why would they? I mean in the comment you're replying to basically explicitly says " we didn't listen to reviews and bought it anyway."
Gearbox has no incentive to actually make good dlc or games if people just consume without bothering to think.
Love the video man keep stuff like this up. You will get more views with vids like this. Good job
Thanks, will do!
I prepaid for the $90 version, and was highly disappointed in the DLC.
I do have to wonder how it may have differed if Randy Pitchford had stayed in charge of game development and not switched off on going over to media (the movie).
showed that gearbox's incapability to make great games without that asshole
well maybe it will be the opposite once they got finally rid of 2k
That was dumb. Stop preordering
@@NASkeywest eh, they had a better track record with past DLC and bundles cost less than buying a season pass later.
@@NASkeywest bro borderlands 1 and two were my childhood gearbox deserves it
The worst part is, while the presequel isn't the most loved game, it had ONE DLC..well one major dlc, but its considered one of the best borderlands dlcs story and location wise.
Good points! like you said, I feel like if they had executed the idea better the DLC may have been a success.
They don't refer to it as DLC they refer to it as PLC.
@@SubjectWealth If they were approached and presented in a similar way to the Headhunter packs, I feel they would have been a lot better received; there isn't anything actually wrong with them in of themselves. But presented as part of the Season Pass, they were really not what was expected.
@@maulressurected4405 I'll take that technicality more seriously if that means we're still getting Season Pass DLC.
I feel like most people bought the chaotic great edition because they had faith in the reputation for solid dlc

Totally addicted to..
this made me believe in the game
more because i love and hate it but the jokes and wizardy content makes me love it more ):
To bad the balance is worse then bl2

The endgame is terrible in wonderlands.
Thanks. I'll wait for a sale and pick base game + season pass.
Feels like Gearbox tried to pull a Bungie with their DLC, cheap easy to make and get it out to keep “velocity”
We thought BL3's Season Pass 2 is bad. TTWL's season pass 1 is even more shameless.
For what?
I actually liked Borderlands 3 season pass 1 came with a bunch of great dlcs
Quick informational vid, would love to see more.
Never buying a the game version that comes with a season pass again. What a waste
Good point!
I really enjoyed this video and hope that you make more kinds of videos like this!
How do you only have 26 subs the way you made this vids is amazing
Thanks for the support!
Wow a DLC review nice. Guess I'll wait more till this game gets cheaper
I felt really cheated with the "bonus content", sorry I meant ripped-off ....

It's remind me of Code Vein, where DLC were just short level, full of boss arena, and didn't really add nothing to the story

I managed to snag Chaotic Great Edition for Xbox for about 50 USD, so I am not mad, just a bit disappointed how they managed to handle season pass content.
The Wonderlands DLCs are equivalent of what is completely FREE in Borderlands 3: TAKEDOWNS :)
I absolutely hated the TTWL DLCs, completed each of them once, and never played again.
I just bought this game $30. Am enjoying it. Hope it'll last at least 3 months from now.
If the season pass is essentially $20 (the difference between the next level and chaotic great editions) that's fairly close to your $17 assessment.
Wonderlands give the "Hey the 3 isn't that bad" vibes
I'm waiting for the complete package Chaotic Great Edition to be on sale for cheap. Or should I be waiting for more a DLC first?
They’ve said that all post launch DLC is out now so you should be good if you find a good deal’
It's so sad because borderlands usually does dlc really well

Great video keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Base game was enjoyable, I'll admit. "DLC" was a complete letdown...
There is no way I'm gonna pay 60+ dollars for any video game - so I waited a year and just bought It for 30 dollars. As a borderlands fan, I must say I really really enjoy this game (maybe because I waited that long), but its not borderlands 2 for sure :)
You would.spend that on nights out or coffee tho
This game's post launch monetization has made me weary of buying another borderlands game, its one thing for me to not jive with the game as its an obvious spin off sort of experiment than a true sequel or mainline game, but the way they handled all of the dlc felt very slimy and dishonest
Pc was 26 to 30$, I’ll just wait more time for it to drop like bl 3
So basically
Wonderland > BL3(Base game)
BL3 > Wonderland(with DLCs)?
Pretty much, lol
This is popping off, love to see more of these reviews
Marvel Avengers ? Destiny 2 ? FIFA in general ?
Appreciate the support and thanks for the suggestions. I’ll see what I can do!
This is a useful channel
Actauly at game stop & Wal-Mart u can get ps4 or Xbox 1 copys of wonderlands for 30 bux
Good to know it's still best practice to wait for an "ultimate" edition on sale
Wonderlands I personally really liked the game I ended up getting bored waited for dlc when it was released I didn't buy I watched reviews and did research them released we weren't getting story dlc so I stopped playing don't know if I'll play the game again it's good game just kinda small and I didn't care about driving around I just wish we got at least one big story dlc I feel like that's what messed the game up for me
I love this game but good lort what was that season pass?!?!?
I hated borderland 3, refund it, but enjoying tiny tina for 2 days already.
