- Here's a little glimpse of what our Easter Sunday looked like at home earlier today. The struggle was definitely real, spending the day arguing with our 3-year-old about how much chocolate she should be allowed to eat!
Almost as impressive as her negotiating skills, you'll get to hear how our daughter's language is coming along, being raised bilingually in English and Portuguese. Although she can communicate in both languages, it's only now that she's really beginning to understand that the two languages are separate. (We're very proud!)
Disclaimer: The subtitles and translations aren't perfect because we rushed to get this video edited and posted by the end of the day. Since it's a holiday, we didn't have the usual help of our amazing team, and somehow had to also keep our girls fed and happy! 😅

So fascinating how she's able to assimilate both languages like that near perfectly, despite some small mistakes she clearly has an edge over most adult learners who fumble their way to fluency. You can tell she's really got both languages in there. No wonder the native language comes so naturally to us, and good on you guys for teaching her both. Such a cute video! and gives me hope as a uk native raising my daughter in Lisbon with my Portuguese husband. She is 2 and the Portuguese speaking creche is always telling us "she doesn't understand anything! Speak more PT with her!" and were like "we sent her to a PT speaking creche for a reason!!" very stressful and I don't want to put any pressure on her. probably she just needs time :) thanks
It's too cute. I come from Israel where many kids with immigrant parents talk this way. I knew one family where once the kids started school, they quit speaking French to mum and she didn't speak that much Hebrew so they just spoke different languages to each other!

This is fantastic! We’re Practice Portuguese subscribers. Been having a heck of a time with listening comprehension because of knowing Spanish. But literally yesterday I was using the app on the regular ar verbs section and things started to click with my ears. HAHAHA As a multilingual child (3 languages in school and 2 more at home) I understand what goes on in the mind of kids whose parents try to speak to them in all the languages they know. I was her as a child. Precious!
