- My first ever MLB Ballpark vlog! I have been to Progressive Field on a handful of occasions as it is the closest away ballpark to my home. I greatly enjoyed visiting Progressive Field and I am looking forward to sharing my experience with you!

We went to Cleveland 12 years ago and i was surprised how nice it was.
Agreed! There are some very pretty buildings downtown and I love a good view of the waterfront in any city!
@@TravelingSportsNerdthanks for the video. I grew up in Cleveland. It will always be the Jake to me. I have been there hundreds of times. We had terrace club seats :)
@@Bilski86Forever the Tribe at the Jake! I’m glad heritage park is still all Indians. Because that’s the real name.
This is a legit nice dude. Thanks for the kind words, and glad you could make it to one of our games!
Thank you so much! I loved your ballpark and I look forward to returning someday!
Right! And we don't fly the flag upside-down at Progressive Field either.
@PSCA1988 That obviously has nothing to do with the Progressive field. It obviously has to do with the democrats destroying our country.
Don't be a smart ass.
Nice profile pic man
@@robertmiller2104 Thanks 👍
As a long time Cleveland baseball fan I appreciate this video. Well done.
Thank you, Joe!
do you like the name guardians? i personally think they should name themselves after a 19th century team called the cleveland spiders. the hat could have a black widow on it with a red c on it's stomach. i think that would be awesome!
@@DamitFeelsGoodtobeaRaider I would’ve preferred the Indians or Spiders but that’s my team regardless so I’m good either Guardians
@@joefigueroa831 fair enough but i do think that merch sales would increase with this spiders idea.
@@DamitFeelsGoodtobeaRaiderif the team were smart, they would’ve allowed the fans to vote on the new name.
Also, the Guardians log is amateurish.
I like to think progressive field is one of the more underrated parks in the league
Thanks for coming to Cleveland, I am an Usher for the Guardians and it looks like you were sitting a couple sections over from where I am at behind home plate. Go Guardians!
Thank you for having me! Being an usher at a Major League Ballpark sounds like a pretty sweet gig!
@@TravelingSportsNerd Its a good retirement job and you get to watch baseball for free.
I really like the rawness of this video. Great job at showing off everything at the stadium
Thank you so much, Sam! I greatly appreciate the kind words! I always try my best to share as much of the stadium as I can with the viewer. :)
Hey man! Clevelander here! Glad you enjoyed the city and stadium! Appreciate the kindness. Cities like Cleveland and Detroit get way too much hate and negativity!
Thank you for the kind words! I definitely agree, cities like Cleveland and Detroit don’t deserve the bad rep they get. Both are wonderful cities to take in a ballgame!
So glad you did this video. I was born and raised in Cleveland but haven't been there in a few years. The walk through the Legends park, I hope I got that right, was really touching for me. I saw a bunch of those guys play. My father took me to my first Indians game when I was six and now I'm 71. You must be the nicest person on earth. Stay safe
Thank you so much for the kind review, Joe! You must have seen the old Cleveland Stadium as well as Progressive Field! Do you have a preference one way or the other?
I’m glad you find me nice…I’m just trying my best to do your city, fans, and stadium justice 😊
Well, my best memories are going to ball games with my father in the old stadium, however, I have excellent memories of taking my son to then Jacobs Field which as you know is progressive field now. So, I guess it's a toss-up 😎
Born and raised in Cleveland. Huge Guards fan and want to say ‘job well done.’ You make it about the park and I appreciate your comments as a summary.
Thank you so much! Making it about the stadium experience is my goal with these videos so I’m very glad that’s what you took out of it!
Great video! Come back next season when all the renovations are done!
I would love to! Thank you for the kind words!
THE BEST I'VE SEEN OF OUR BALLPARK !!!!!
Thank you
Thank you for watching, I’m so glad you enjoyed!
Welcome to Cleveland. I moved here in 88 from Detroit. At least Detroit isn't the only team experiencing these losses. Cleveland is tearing up the league right now.
Thank you! Haha those Guardians sure are on a tear right now…9 straight wins!
Nice video!!! Labor Day Weekend in 1995, I drove to Detroit with my mom to see an Indians vs. Tigers afternoon game. We were back home by night. I loved old Tiger Stadium!!! Of all the ball park I have ever visited, Tiger Stadium was my all-time favorite! By the way, your Tigers won that game back in '95. 👍
That’s awesome! I was born just after Tiger Stadium closed so I never got to see it with my own eyes but I’ve heard wonderful things!
Thank you for sharing that story with me and thank you for the kind words! :)
As a person who grew up in Cleveland, but now lives in Oakland County, MI, I thank you for a job well done on one of the nicest ball parks in all of baseball. Tiger stadium is a gem as well.
Hey I’m in Oakland County too!
Thank you for watching, Ron!
Nicely done!
Great video! I haven't been to the Cleveland ball park, literally, in twenty plus years and I'm kicking myself because I'm NOW retired and have the time. LOL.
Thank you!
I hope this video inspires you to get back there! It’s a great time and I highly recommend it. Plus- your Guardians are playing incredible baseball right now!
@@TravelingSportsNerd It will sir. I am definitely going to hit the game circuit when we get back! THANK YOU.
I loved the favor you did to your middle school brothers band to have their music accompany your video...he owes you one
It’s a great place to see a ball game. Great video buddy!
Agreed! Thank you, David!
Cheers from Cleveland my friend thanks for showing some love. I always appreciated the rich history of Detroit and joke about how the rock and roll hall of fame should be there cause of all the amazing music that came out that city over the last 70 years.
Haha, we do have a great musical heritage here in Detroit! But Cleveland has done a wonderful job with the Rock Hall, I always seem to enjoy my visits there.
And I am happy to show your city some love!
I’m holding out for the 10 cent beer promo night and Buddy Bell throwing out the first pitch!
Thank you and i'm glad you made it here and back, safely!!Use to have a friend in "Royal Oak"...Plenty of road trips..Peace
This is a good idea for a series. That being said, some parts of the ballpark in Cleveland are undergoing major renovations, so it might be worth coming back during the 2025 season when those are all completed. Hope you see some more great ballgames.
Thanks, Roland! I’ll definitely have to circle back around when renovations are complete.
Can't thank you enough for this video. Always been an Indians fan. Never been to a game yet. Great video work. I feel like I've been to a game now.. almost lol
I still say they are the Indians. Oh and BTW I am a Indian. A Chippewa Indian. I don't know any "Native Americans" there for the SJW's, that was offended by the Redskins or the Indians team names.
its even nicer when there are more people
Wonderful work my friend!!
Thank You, Elliott!
Cleveland will always be the INDIANS TO ME 😊👍
Welcome to Cleveland! I hope you had a good time
Thank you, I absolutely did (aside from Detroit losing lol)! You guys have a lovely city!
🖖@CLE
Awesome video! Can't wait to get to visit Comerica Park one day!
Thank you so much!
I hope you get to Comerica someday too; it is my favorite! (I may be a little biased haha)
hell ya
For the land!!
Native Clevelander here. Haven’t been a fan since they changed the name, but cool vid. I guess I’m a tigers fan now which I used to hate them during the Miguel Cabrera era lol. But anything is better than the Gaurdians wack name and logo.
I like your videos.
Thank you!!
Thank you for posting this video. I like visiting the different ballparks and I've never been to Cleveland or Detroit. I hope to see a game in these parks along with Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Washington and Baltimore sometime. I've been to about a third of the major league parks including Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, Dodger Stadium, the old Yankee Stadium and SF's ballpark.
I love to hear that! Chasing ballparks is such a wonderful activity. Cleveland and Detroit both have wonderful ballparks (although I may be biased with Detroit!).
You have definitely seen some essential ballparks! Do you have a favorite of the ones you listed?
Thank you for watching!
@@TravelingSportsNerd I guess my favorites would be Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. The older parks have a nostalgia feel to them. Fenway was fun because I went on a guided tour of it the day before the game. We got to go into the press box for a few minutes. It was cool. The tour guide was funny too. 🙂
Just an excellent, excellent video, young man. Very professional! Welcome to the neighbourhood (greetings from Akron!) and come back any time!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'll have to catch a Rubber Ducks game someday!
@@TravelingSportsNerd Please do! I'll tell you, there's no better minor league park than the Rubber Ducks'. Come visit and maybe I'll come, too!
Love your footage and appreciate all of your kind words about our ballpark! Next time you come to Cleveland, I recommend spending some time in one of the standing room areas if that's possible for you. Since the team started offering the Ballpark Pass last year ($50/mo for a standing room ticket to every home game), the standing areas have been the most exciting regions of the park by far. I'm a regular on the Home Run Porch in left.
Thank you for the kind words!
I’ll have to check out the SRO areas next time I’m there, that sounds wonderful! Thank you for the advice! 🙏🏻
Going there next week for Guardians-Royals Tue & Wed. Very excited about the trip.
I think you’ll have a great time! Definitely spend some time perusing Heritage Park out beyond Center Field if you get the chance!
@@TravelingSportsNerd Thank you. I shall definitely check it out. Also going to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is close by to Progressive Field.
W video man
Thank you!
Cleveland don’t have much but what we do have is people who love their sports even if we don’t win you will always find a very welcome SportsNation in Cleveland
You don’t have to sell your city short with me! I had a lovely time. And I did feel welcomed! :)
@@TravelingSportsNerd the Al central has perhaps the closest division. I don’t hate any teams in the Al central. I like to see the royals doing well. I especially like to see the tigers doing well. We can all agree the white Sox can suck it though 😂
Haha the White Sox are definitely having a rough go of it 🫣
Last time i was there, they had all you can eat sections including soda was free. Great deal.
Go Guards!
Next time you are there, go to right field on the ground/main concourse where you may see an usher or two in front of an entrance that leads to the playing field level behind the right field wall. It's free and you get to stay an entire inning. If you ever see people behind the chain link fence in right field while watching a Guardians that's how they got there. Enjoy!
Making a note of this for my next visit, that sounds really cool! Thank you for the tip, Fred!
The Artists Formerly Known As The Indians! Say if we're gonna have a Guardians maybe a future expansion team (not sure where the name would most fit though) could be named the Renegades, just like the Gobots? :D
nice camera work, some of these are grainy/out of focus. Thanks for stopping by.
YOUR CLEVELAND INDIANS.............The Tribe is Alive! 9 game winning streak.
my sympathies.
Most of us still call it The Jake. Jacobs Field
Do you like or dislike the renovations? BTW great job on the video! You really captured the entire park!
Thank you for the kind words!
People have told me in the comments that renovations will not be finished until next season, so I feel like I am commenting on unfinished work! But I do enjoy the renovations that were done on the upper deck right field seats. The open space looks much nicer than the shipping containers in my opinion.
How do you feel about them?
as someone who lives in cleavand i love gurdians and there the best
You definitely have a great team this year as well as a wonderful ballpark! Cheers!
@@TravelingSportsNerdWe love our team and city!
@@TravelingSportsNerd can i get a pin
I wish you would have shown a little bit more of Ray Chapman, the only MBL player to die during a game.
I did see the tribute to him in Heritage Park, I apologize for not including more! I’ll have to do some research for myself into that really unfortunate incident.
GO TRIBE!!!
I was at this game 😤😤💯💯
Congrats on the dub!
@@TravelingSportsNerd definitely a really good game. You guys got some beast on your team
Tigers pitching is fantastic but our hitting is…questionable LOL.
Outside of the White Sox, we definitely have a great division this year (can’t remember the last time I was able to say that truthfully).
As a royals fan it hurts me to say I like Jose Ramirez lmfao
Great video and love the raw production and you save your comments for the beginning and end, well done buddy
Thank you for the kind words, Caleb!
Hey bro was there any merch in store that had Chief Wahoo on it?
I do not remember, so this is purely speculation. Probably not any shirts or hats with explicitly Chief Wahoo, but maybe retro/vintage gear? I believe they had Funko Pops from the film Major League, I imagine those had Chief Wahoo on them.
You gotta do comerica
I should have a video on Comerica Park by the end of the summer! 😊
Indians are good this year
4:48 so sad seeing no Indians gear in the Indians team store
Why did the owners of Jacob's field have to put a second label above the already labeled logo of the baseball field? They could have saved it for something more valuable.
That’s a great question, Christopher!
It does seem a little redundant, but I believe the top installation of “Progressive Field” is to make it easier to read from the highway while the bottom installation is for pedestrian view. I’m not 100% sure on this but that is my best guess.
They change the name of the team for dang sakes and everything in Progressive Field is there to remind you of the storied history of the Cleveland Indians!!!…It’s a shame really, still feel
bad for the fans…
The Jake. Love that field.
Tigers??? 🙄👎👎
Hey Traveling Sports Nerd, thanks for making this video about the inside and outside of Jacobs Field (I won't say the "p" word).
I was able to see the inside of Jacobs Fields for a a couple minutes escorted by the Team Store Mgr. since the ballpark was closed during the off season in October of 1998.
Yeah, it was a close game between my Guardians and your hometown Tigers back on 5.8.24,
in extra innings. Yeah, the 2024 Cleveland Guardians sure have been have good at-bats and also the starting rotation is slowly improving with a very good bullpen helping Cleveland to now on this Memorial Day Monday Holiday, 37-16 record. Go Guardians!
Tigers!! 🙏🏻😂
Thank you for the response! I’m happy to share the ins and outs of your park.
Thank you for sharing your story too! That’s really cool that you got a personal tour!
Your Guardians sure are doing well right now, there’s no denying that.
@@TravelingSportsNerd You are welcome, TSN. 😏👍
Indians to me. Always
Heritage Park, my bad.
No apologies necessary, I misname things all the time! I understood what you were talking about :)
Sorry you're a Tigers fan. Welcome to CLE tho.
Haha I appreciate the hospitality!
Will always be "The Jake"
There are more Indians jerseys than Guardians. As it should be.
Hey, this is no hate comment. but i would love if you talked more while at the game and there was less music! just something i wanted to see.
Constructive feedback will always be welcomed on this channel! Thank you for the comment :)
@@TravelingSportsNerd thank you!!! enjoy the videos
@@TravelingSportsNerd I actually preferred your format. Just sit back and take in the park and then you share your thoughts at the end. Also makes its easier for you from either A) Dubbing over your video later or B) Talking out loud in the park while filming. I think it was all great. As a Clevelander that has never been to Detroit, would love a video of your home park!
Thank you for the comment, I am so glad you enjoyed it!
Those are definitely the reasons I enjoy talking at the beginning/end. But I absolutely see both sides and believe that both have merit. I will probably experiment with both in the future!
And yes, I would love to share my home park with you, expect a video on it by the end of the summer!
Not the same without the Name “Indians”…. Woke Owner Erased the History
Pathetic crowd.
You must be a low esteeming Clevelander, or a robotic Cleveland hater from somewhere else.
@@user-ys5eo3eq2t I loved the Indians right up until they changed the name because of that woke bullshit. Oh I still root for them but I despise the weakness in the organization. That I cannot support. The Indians have not won a World Series since 1948 and now the Indians will never win a World Series.
Native Clevelander here. Haven’t been a fan since they changed the name, but cool vid. I guess I’m a tigers fan now which I used to hate them during the Miguel Cabrera era lol. But anything is better than the Gaurdians wack name and logo.
Cleveland don’t have much but what we do have is people who love their sports even if we don’t win you will always find a very welcome SportsNation in Cleveland
Good grief!! Typical low esteeming metro Clevelander. Cleveland is better than you desire to see it portrayed. Glad you didn't present the video.
