    Just dropping a comment to say thanks so much for the videos (I’ve watched a few of yours this morning, looking into sleep tracking devices) - you manage to cover all the pertinent details without rambling, and give what feels like a really objective view rather than trying to ‘sell’ one or the other. Also just very personable and easy to listen to!

      I think exploring Biostrap could be interesting since they have a few different products. I’m in the process of trying to replace whoop bc I’m getting tired of paying the monthly fee and I think I could get more accurate sleep data elsewhere

    Do you still use the Muse S? What kind of alarm features does Dreem have over the Muse?

    This is a great review, I'm living in Europe, so I have deep sleep stimulation, and it works 👍
    I'm own both devices myself Dreem 2 and Muse S, and I can say that on my side, Muse S didn't work for the night session, it detects a few minutes of sleep (for 8+ night) I have done the same test as you, and also recording my sleep with IR camera, and then I can compare sleep stage in real-time on the morning, and I can say Dreem 2 match as 99% (REM / Deep and Light and awake) and position change, where Muse S is totally not given a good result (awake all the night).
    I'm really hoping that it's a bug in the Muse app and how they handle EEG data, the fact is I'm on an Android 10 device, so maybe there is some kind of issue with it compared to iPhone, but I don't see why, and I don't have an iPhone for doing a double comparison.
    So, right now, I'm using nap session (as night mode) to test Muse S with support, hardware and sensor look OK, so must be the app, in my nap session (I don't and double-check with Dreem 2) I know that I'm getting deep/light and REM phase (and awake at start and end) so it's already good for testing and for example, the long nap for today (2h23 minutes) it detects 8 min of sleep, totally a joke !!!
    So your review can give hopes even if I know that Dreem 2 really matches my sleep phase (at least for the REM one) but now I'm used to detecting deep and light by viewing the recorded video.

      Dreem works good for detection but has no direct information so can't be use like Muse S.

    Once again it sounds like a mix would be the best for all. A Muse Device being best if it had the Dream App from which to operate. I wish these companies could come together to dominate the space.

    • @ShervinShares
      @ShervinShares  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that would be so neat - one can dream...and also these are such niche products. Let's be honest do you really need this complex of a sleep tracker? What actual value do you get out of it?

    I seem to fall asleep quickly, but can't stay asleep.. either waking up every ~hour.. or waking up at 4am unable to fall back asleep. I'd be interested in not so much tracking but a device to get my brain to shut-off and sleep!
    Would Muse S, Dreem 2, or Circadia, Fisher Wallace Stimulator, SR1 Delta Sleeper, help with sleep maintenance insomnia?

    • @tahirahmed33
      @tahirahmed33 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do not buy the earthpulse sleep on command v6.0 pro 2 magnets , its doesn't work well always... Also SR1 is not good ... The only one I recommend is the dreem 2 or muse s gen 2 ( 2021 new ) if you can't buy a dreem 2

    Thanks! Been waiting for this comparison for a while! A few things I’m curious about. I don’t travel so much, but still wondering if the blend of meditation and sleep is better value for the Muse S than just sleep with Dreem? I’d like to know how often you find yourself using these devices since buying. Also, the Muse looks more comfortable, but is comfortability an issue with the Dreem? Or is it comfortable enough? If the Dreem expands its mediation offering then I guess that would sway me towards the Dreem.

    • @adamleonard2530
      @adamleonard2530 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Muse S is FAR more comfortable and if you have thinning hair, the Muse S will not mess with it. The Dreem absolutely puts additional strain on your hair since it has the giant band over the top of the head that creates friction and exerts force on your scalp that tends to accelerate hair loss.

    • @ShervinShares
      @ShervinShares  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends, I don’t meditate as much so I tend to use my Dreem more often than my Muse S. Muse S is definitely more comfortable, the big heavy piece on top of Dreem can be super funky

    Unfortunately, the Dreem 2 device is not any longer available to consumers. As I am owning Dreem 2 and Muse S I have to say that for sleep improvement and analysis Dreem 2 is pretty much the better device. The weekly analysis report, deep sleep stimulation, no Bluetooth needed during the night, breath irregularities detection is really unique here.

    • @ShervinShares
      @ShervinShares  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea both are more accurate at the top forehead area. Hence why this isn’t “scientific”. That was the best way they’d fit. Dreem has smaller sensor coverage

    Muse s gen 2 is out , buy still can't compete with the radiation free ( no need Bluetooth or WiFi ,when tracking sleep all night ) DREEM 2 ,bit dreem have discontinued them ,so muse s gen 2 has a change to make it mainstream , dreem has developed dreem 3 to be sold ONLY to sleep researchers in institutes and universities they won't sell to individual consumers and who wants to buy the Rip off prices of dreem 3 ,I emailed them ,they said it costs $1500 plus VAT. What a total rip off. I hope muse s gen successful.
