@Viking not really. It's kinda more of an issue of the smash team never updating any of the older characters like pokemon trainer and pikachu. The newer characters like incineroar were handled pretty well in my opinion. The same issue goes for most of the old Nintendo series, Kirby especially.

This actually wasn't arranged by Shinji Miyazaki, but instead by Akifumi Tada. He's done a fair amount of Pokemon movie music as well.
And he should have been Miyazaki's replacement instead of Yuki Hayashi.

@@thedragon12 Masuda has been kinda stale ever since XY imo. The other composers like Go Ichinose and Shota Kageyama are what keep the OSTs good.

It's a long answer but here I go :O
You see it's because TPCI is cheap, most eng dub fans keep saying licensing issues but yet there is no concrete proof of that. Plus we must consider that even if it was licensing issues the Pokemon franchise generates a lot a lot of money from the toys, cards games etc... so I really doubt that argument. Just think of when they switched voice actors the reason for that was to cut cost because yeah TPCI is cheap (and they also change the BGM so they can license their music to other countries that base their own dub based on the English one). But don't fret if the movie comes out on blue ray people will be able to switch the ENG Dub's soundtrack to the original jp one because if you grew up with the 4kids English dub the jp ost has remixed tracks that they actually left in when they initially dubbed Pokemon. there is a lot to say but that's all I can say. Also, there is this if FUNimation (before they were bought by Sony) can keep the original OST for the show they dub, then why can't a bigger company like TPCI do the same?
donicx1 TPCi only kept one music in this movie is Avant, but doesn’t count and doesn’t mean it better than Japanese version. Japanese version for Pokémon Movie 20 is better with all music in this movie. For fact, 4Kids actually cared about Pokémon and worked hard than TPCi. 4Kids actors wanted to come back to voice Pokémon again, it will never happen due to TPCi being so cheap and get the cheap actors, instead 4Kids actors. For me, 😢 4Kids should come back to make it better, but edits yes usually due to time constraints or something inappropriate, but TPCi edit way more worst than 4Kids. 4Kids made not keep all Japanese music, but they will keep the most Japanese Music and that they like to fit to the scenes and 4Kids made their own music better than TPCi careless and lazy music and make it silence usually and doesn’t fit. I feel 4Kids liked the Japanese Music really much, even 4Kids actors loved Japanese actors.
