This Is A Decently Good Video For A Cave Base, I Would Insist Not Using A Beacon, TNT Is Perfect Just Make A Mob Farm Like Jofa Said. I Would Insist On Making A NetherFarm for pigs then make a Gold Throne Room!
I gave myself a challenge where I can't go into the sunlight and start the game in a box at bedrock level. This is really helpful because making a cave look good can be rather difficult.
If you want something more controlled than TNT, and not risk in destroying some of the build, place an obsidian block and an ender crystal. Then punch it. It will destroy everything around it, except the floor it's on. Want it lower? Place a crystal below where you want it blown up.

I never played this game before but when you destroy the blocks... are you just clicking the button once and they destroy or do you have to hold the button down? Also if you have to hold it down, if you let it go halfway thru the animation, will the block still be there but cracked and not destroyed?
All this time I thought you made this cave on Survival. LOL damn. Thought you were a genius for being able to make that all in survival. I guess not :( haha jk. Pretty cool though, you're awesome!
For anyone looking for a good cave seed for PE: Use the seed "tax evasion" as you will spawn by a giant cave that is prefect for base-making.

I never played this game before but when you destroy the blocks... are you just clicking the button once and they destroy or do you have to hold the button down? whenever I make a mob farm no mobs spawn. mob trap completely dark, 24 blocks away, and on hardest difficulty. any solutions?
