You outdid yourself Allison. You are such a huge inspiration to young mothers. I turned 63 yesterday and you are a delight to watch even at my age. The kitchen looks wonderful. P.S. The girls are gorgeous ❤
GIRL if makeover on a SUPER CHEAP BUDGET was a person😮 cause you did a PHENOMENAL job with a little of nothing. No one can have an excuse of having an ugly space after seeing your work. BRAVO👏🏽
You and Christian are tenacious. Talk about staying at a project even if it takes a month. Love the new look of a much brighter and refreshed kitchen. Well done!
That's exactly how I've been doing it for 50 years. From old to new...... And it's so much fun!! Only the electrics have to be done😆by others Thanks for the beautiful video is Germany🥰
I love it! It's amazing what paint can do. Sometimes those "smaller" projects can totally help you love a space. It doesn't have to be perfect or a giant gut job every time ❤️
Love the gold hardware. What's great is the kitchen looks brighter and can bring some joy until you can do the long-term kitchen. I remember when you did things in the California kitchen. Super mum returns. ❤
I'm 67 years young and I choose as my new adventure a fixer upper house. It needs more fixing up than I realized and I only have so much money so I just repainted my kitchen cabinets and changed out the hardware too. . I was so excited to see your video becausemy kitchen is about the same as yours.. I'm now at the point of rehanging the doors. You gave me motivation to finish this job. Your kitchen looks great. TY
What a fantastic job. Your kitchen is so beautiful. Is there anything you can’t do Allison? lol You are truly amazing. Again I love watching your videos. Have a great day!!!
I love it! It looks a million times better than before. You did a great job for a temporary fix. I’ll be so excited to see the big transformation when you’re ready. But I think this will serve you well in the meantime.
Great job and persistence. I had a very similar kitchen in my last home. All of the cabinets were wood, but the uppers didn’t open properly, so we just used curtains across them. One of the previous owners had put a brown tile, which had wide grout and didn’t match nor coordinate with the backsplash, so I used black vinyl to cover the counter which gave a nice contrast to the overly brown cabinets and backsplash. That’s about as far as I got…u til we got ready to move and put in new cabinets. It wasn’t true to the house, but it was more updated and useable space. We have to do what helps us to be happy in our homes, if it is only temporary.
This is a great improvement, even if it’s a temporary fix. Watching you prime with the Killz reminded me of the 1st time I used it, only it was the oil based primer. I had a window in the room open, but it wasn’t enough ventilation. I was standing on one of those 3 or 4 step stools painting..and woke up lying on the floor. Apparently the fumes got me. I looked over, and my little kitty was also affected. She was batting the air with her paw, like she was trying to catch a bug. There wasn’t a bug there. I scooped her up, and opened every window in the house and pulled out the fans. So…if you need a primer, use the water based, not the oil based. I head a headache for 2 days.
I think you did a great job on your kitchen Allison!! It looks shiny & new. I imagine it probably feels so good too! All of your hard work was worth it Two suggestions would be some caulk around some of the edges, just to give a more finished look in a few spots. Also, I think a nice jute or natural fiber type rug (or any rug really) would help to give some warmth & even match your kitchen shade if you went with a natural fiber & just put that finishing touch. You've probably already thought of these things! Anyway, bravo to you & your husband for pulling this off w/a toddler, a new baby & a dog!! Enjoy in good health!!💖
Hola, quedo increíble la cocina 👏👏, hiciste un trabajo maravilloso Allison Felicidades, me encantó, las bisagras cuando se limpiaron y tomaron ese color cobre hermoso!!! ❤ Un abrazo
Wow! You did such a great job! I totally get the progress over perfection because we are renovating too and have big plans for the kitchen which has to wait. Also a toddler mom over here 😅 and it's crazy to me how much DIY projects you get done with your two kids! Wow. Thanks for that inspiration! The kitchen looks amazing in my opinion!🎉❤
I glued torn brown paper on my laminate countertops and painted them black. They look like slate. The look I was going for. Just an idea for you and others who may be interested. Did it a couple years ago and it has held up really well.
I love it!!! I am so inspired by your projects! I know how hard it is to do projects with kids (I have 3) but the end result is so satisfying! Keep up the great work, love watching from New Hampshire!
It all looks amazing and gives me so many ideas for my countertops and sink areas! ❤ if you don’t like the tile color paint it and then seal it and the stuck on paper to waterproof it even more! I think I saw to use Polyacrylic to set it? 😊
😮WOWWWW U DID AN AMAZING JOB ON UR KITCHEN...CAME OUT BEAUTIFUL GREAT JOB 👍 KEEP UP THE AMAZING JOB THAT U DO 😊LOOK FOWARD TO SEEING UR NEXT VIDEO MUCH APPRECIATED N MUCH LOVE ❤
I so wish we could paint our cabinets, sadly its a military rental 😂 my husband's contract is a little over halfway over so we're going to be able to buy a house in a few years, and I'm really excited to be able to do this then ❤ I love the colors you chose for youe cabinets, and the gold for the hardware! I'm not sure what you'd be able to find that looks good, but if you're ever looking for something different maybe a contact paper that looks like wood might give the counters a butcher block counter look. I think that would look really nice with your warm whites :)
Aloha! I think you were wise to keep the original solid wood cabinet door and drawer fronts; as well as the hinges. You can always "embellish" the doors/drawers with trim as an upgrade as your kitchen evolves. You might also think about saving your pocket door; what I would give to have been able to use one for my powder/laundry room!
not bad for a temporary redo! those contact paper counters always seem like a headache, no matter what kitchen or bath someone is doing them in. the only suggestion i have is taking some caulk and doing the seams between the counter and backsplash. it'll help those transitions look more seamless and the dark line from the old finish won't show.
It looks beautiful. You are truly amazing. I couldn't get the nerve to paint my cabinets because it is such a big job and I no longer have children at home. I love your makeovers-they are so inspirational and so are you. Madelyn got so big!! QUESTION: I thought of buying those peel and stick tiles to put on a painted wall because paint behind the sink and stove just doesn't hold up. BUT do you find the peel and stick tile to stay on the wall? I don't want to invest in real tile.
You outdid yourself Allison. You are such a huge inspiration to young mothers. I turned 63 yesterday and you are a delight to watch even at my age. The kitchen looks wonderful. P.S. The girls are gorgeous ❤
That is a ditto for me as well ❤️ those baby girls are precious

Looks so good! I love the "progress over perfection" reference to Natalie Bennett. 😘 She's so wonderful! Love you guys!
Great before and after! I totally get a "just for now makeover" - sometimes you just need a morale boost when renovating a home.
For a quick fix, job well done. We choose the color swiss coffee for our living room walls, love the color of it. 😊
The star of the show by far is that backsplash 😍
The cabinet hardware and cabinet color is tied for second
Great job, looks lovely,I wouldn’t have the patience for that counter covering, you did awesome ❤❤❤
Love the gold hardware. What's great is the kitchen looks brighter and can bring some joy until you can do the long-term kitchen. I remember when you did things in the California kitchen. Super mum returns. ❤
Great job painting. I’d have paint everywhere.. beautiful job.
Swiss Coffee is a great color for your home. Cabinets look really good.

I think you did a great job! I actually really like the backsplash, which is odd for me because I don't like many backsplashes. Great job!
You did an amazing job! Great inspiration! Enjoy your new kitchen makeover! Love from Greece!
It looks lovely! Such an upgrade. I hope it makes you happy and you feel proud of all the hard work you put in ❤

You could use rub and buff "Antique Gold" on the new cabinet knobs to see if it matches with the hinges. Kitchen came out nice! 😊

You are one handy woman Allison! How are the tiles sticking? have you been happy with them? easy to clean?
Hi guys just checking to make sure that you 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
looks great, just a suggestion, what if you use the rub and buff on the new amazon handles, will tie in with the hardware.
