I was actually wondering for a bit on why the redraw was slightly bothering me. I’ve come to realize that because I’ve owned succulents before, I take notice of how succulents usually have a “duller” or “dustier” appearance due to the layer of wax they have on them. The old drawing’s succulents had that kind of realistic “dullness”, while in the redraw the succulents don’t have that. I quite like the kind of dusty light pink and light green the old drawing has, I think the two colors work together quite nicely and those colors are also the most common for succulents in a decorative manner. It would be perfect for me if the old succulents were put in the new glass sphere :)
I totally agree.but I dpnt really care about the realism I just feel like the more vibrent colors of the succulents in this piece kinda take away from the rest of thr picture

I agree that the cooler green in the new drawing does not work for succulents, it also is a strong palete which does compete with Whiteout a bit. I understand the old plants were a bit much for her though.
I've been trying forever to find out why the drawing felt a bit off to me- that must be it! I own succulents and will stare at them forever and their kind-of dirty look makes them interesting. I agree if she just changed the new ones to looks like the old ones, It would be perfect.
It’s a cute piece but I agree I like the dusty way the old one looked, now it all kinda just blends together, and the color of the glass is to bright and I wish it was just white tint with light blue shading

I think the reason people like the original so much is because they are either focusing on Whiteout or the Terrarium and to see that the colours don’t match up you have to look at them both at the same time. If you don’t agree with this remember that This is just a personal opinion so take it as a grain of salt. Btw I love both the drawings so much! And you have inspired me to draw so thank you!

I have always loved this piece of art, both the original one and the redesign! The idea of putting Whiteout into a terrarium is ingenious (and absolutely adorable!), something that I never would’ve thought to do myself but am glad was done.

The amount her style changed in less than a year is remarkable! Her style changes so frequently, but keeps a lot of the core elements, is why I love her artwork so much!
i really loved the old piece because it was strange and unique (in a good way). i never would’ve thought to put whiteout in a terrarium. and of course, im still developing my own unique style and getting down fullbody poses and angles (3/4 and front view i have you both) so when I saw that one I was in awe. i never took the time to really look at the colors like “oh, those don’t really look all that good together”.
but now that you’ve switched up the colors to make it compliment each other, it’s a drastic difference. im glad that you took the time to redraw something old, that you didn’t enjoy, into something new that you can take a lot more pride in when you see it.

Very smol tip: try checking your art in B & W (black and white aka greyscale) it’s hard to look at certain colours with similar values are pretty hard to look at

I love Whiteout’s design too! I did a lil project that kept me busy for a while, it was drawing gems as dragons. I did snowflake obsidian and immediately thought of Whiteout. I might redraw it cuz my style went from extremely cartoony, to really detailed, and too somewhere in between. It was really fun to draw gems as dragons. My zoom class kept giving me suggestions, and I died inside for a little bit. T^T I draw a lot of things as dragons cuz I can’t draw anything else :D

I really like both versions, but i do wish you included the light rose pink on the new one. The sage-ish green plus that pink in the old one looked really nice for a cute contrast. Like i said, i love both verisons, i just liked the pink plus sage green in the old one lol

OMG Cyprus this is beautiful! You are SUCH a HUGE inspiration for me and I need to know how you draw so perfectly lol.
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE the redraw and I don't want to seem too criticizing, but one thing I think would make this piece better is if you could maybe add a little bit more shades of blue or purple in the succulents, instead of just the green color.
Again, take this with a grain of salt because I am definitely not an art expert and I love love love all of your work. You've grown so much over the years, as a youtuber and an artist. I'm so glad that this is a piece you can be proud of. :)
