So Awesome! At 62. I have found that one should keep learning something, every day brings change and new things, and making room for what serves you and changing your mind is key! Yup, folks are gonna say and do things, but I won't let them bring me down, instead I will rise higher in security, confidence, and compassion for those not living on a free level of just being... P.S. I really like your hair and you do an awesome job with your haircutting skills! ❤
I think that's the key thing that a lot of people don't get is that we can change our mind about who we are and where we're going at any point in time and any day we choose. It's empowering once we really internalize it!
@@CarrieLovesLife. thanks, I think about Adele all the time. She's moved on from this lifetime now but her memorial was all about how much harp brought her joy and everyone around her in her last years.
I like your sweatshirt though! It doesn’t say hello but not goodbye either, it says ‘good journey’ so it is still a very friendly sweatshirt in my mind 😂 Loved your video as well 🎉
At 47 I decided I wanted to learn to play a musical instrument. I saw an amazing stand up bass at a music festival and BOUGHT it! LOL. I am now 64 yrs old and play bass in a Bluegrass band with the other band members that could be my grandchildren. In fact, the band is breaking up in a few weeks as two members are going away to college! LOL I hate to say goodbye to 'The Band' but I assure you, I will fill the gap with what I want to do!. Life has been an adventure for me and it STILL is. On to the next fun thing. Now, if I could just find my car keys! 💋
I think it's so cool that you're a piano teacher! I was a bain to all of my piano teachers growing up because I never practiced lol. But I did eventually find my musical calling as an opera singer, where I am constantly surrounded by piano teachers and accompanists.
I came in on part 2 and this one was even more appropriate for me. I love these Bon Voyage videos! So helpful to my psyche. Yes you can fit a piano in a tiny house and still have plenty of room. I just need to play it more - not get overwhelmed and think I don't have time! Yes I do!
Oh my gods…You are an accomplished pianist! I love these sorts of surprises related to people who I think I know! How truly wonderful. I appreciate your messages today and look forward to part two. Good timing.
@@unblahyourself of course you’re modest lol let’s just say by my standards, you’re accomplished !! Thanks again for all that you share and put out there 🫣😁
I totally agree with you that we have to prioritize what really matters to us. When I retired I decided it was time for me to become a human being instead of a human doing. I do less than I used to but I enjoy myself more. I'm not as busy but I'm not as fatigued or as stressed.
Hi Diana! Your video has changed my outlook, because lately I've been telling myself, 'It's too late', or, 'I'm too old' to consider starting something new that I feel I should've done my whole life, (I'm 54). Like you, I've been involved in music and taught clarinet and saxophone when I was younger for a number of years. However, the instrument I loved learning most was the piano, but because I didn't start until I turned sixteen, I didn't teach or perform on it, and over the years lost the skills I once had. Thanks to your video, however, I've decided to start re-learning and play it again, but light music rather than classical, which has always been my preference. So thank you again for providing me with that little push I needed. All the best, Carol 😊🤩💜
Ooooooooh I needed that message Diana! There are a few things that I definitely need to either action them or kick to the kerb! Won't be easy but I feel like I certainly can tackle them at this point in my life. I do have a feeling I'll be watching this again several times for some motivation though. 😊 PS your last two Bon Voyage were spot on! Magnifique! 👌
You are so amazing and so right!! I am a piano teacher too. I hear often that there’s no room for a piano. It’s a matter of priority as with anything worth an adjustment in life. LOVE your videos!!
🌸New subscriber here, saying "Hello!" to your channel, instead of "Goodbye." I have been seeing your videos these days and love your sense of humor. I'm almost 46 and I agree with you about everything. 🌸
In my opinion the sweatshirt says "Thank you for leaving me alone and have a good time" which is simply great. 🙂Btw, I do like you mushroom haircut. 😉 And the kittens! They are so cute.
Yes! I never got to take art classes as a kid because we couldn't afford them. I spent most of my adult life thinking I'd missed the boat. Then as the pandemic was winding down, one of the first ways I got out was to take any free class I could find. I ended up watercolor and sculpture classes that opened up my whole world. Now I'm so excited about creating every day, and I get to make beautiful things for the people that I love :D
Wishing you the best! I DID get to do high level Art and dropped away from it. Watercolour has been a new medium to me more recently, and I much prefer the lightness of colour.
So much of our lives can be wasted by things we need to dismiss! Whatever holds us back needs to be kicked to the curb! Let’s pull up big girl panties and wear orange and pink bravely!
This is SO GOOD! I was just reminding myself this morning to take a deep breath and let there be a beat of silence before responding to some comment from someone in the room. HA! It was actually my husband who I was thinking should be taking a deep breath before getting all ironic, but then my mindset shifted to uncomfortably reminding me that I need to do that too. 😏 All of your limiting beliefs applied to me too - thank you. I am also a keyboard player, and sometimes teacher who has a digital piano slid into a hallway with a seasonally appropriate scarf or pashmina covering it when not in use. I have to be careful not to use it as a storage surface because I could definitely use one of those there. I'm glad you persevered with your channel - I'm a newcomer and am loving your content and outlook on life. xo karen
I love your top but as some people mentioned here in comments it says have a nice trip, not goodbye. But anyways I really enjoyed this video, I realised that I have few things I have to say goodbye to do progress with my life.By the way, you are extremely beautiful❤
Diana! I’m a classical singer and chorus teacher…but I play so poorly! Teach me! (zoom idea?). Truth is I can play -but so slowly and I can’t coordinate my hands. I cross bass and treble - I feel such the mess. Do you have any excercises in mind you can suggest? I have to last 5 more years in the system before I can retire and go paint-talk about finding time to do stuff as a teacher! You know what holds me back? GUILT! It’s all so stupid. Thanks for entertaining my ramble! ❤
Oh don't worry about how well you play or how coordinated you are, just play and know you're doing yourself some good in many ways! We are not all meant to be Yuja Wang (certainly not me at least)¡ 😁
Thanks for your ideas! I want to say that although personally I wasn’t sure if the Baddie thing is my thing, I know that it has helped other people from the comments. I am a bit of a fashion coward, which I blame on my weight. I think you’re great, so I was concerned that I was possibly discouraging. Please forgive me if that was so. I had been thinking to write you since I wrote you.
I think the starting things "late" in life has to do with our ageist mentality in our culture. We have limited beliefs about what is possible in life because we foolishly believe others who are just as foolish in this respect. It's like the blind leading the blind. Until we start thinking for ourselves...

My granny taught piano til she was in her nineties (from the age of 18). Not a late starter, but defo was in no rush to quit!
Great message. Being afraid of failure or embarrment often keeps us from experiencing the joy of experiences.
