A is the original 1960, B is the 2020 Custom Shop Les Paul. I am extremely sure ;-) But awesome job by Gibson with the reissue soundwise. And: Michael’s playing and tone are just superb, as always!
While everything that Michael touches sounds excellent, I personally like guitar A better, since it sounds a little more 3D than guitar B which to me sounds a little more like „plastic“. That being said I think both guitars sound good and we are talking nuances here. Oh and guitar A Is the 1960s I guess.
B is more focussed in the middle frequencies. I think B is the orginal. Both sound great. And most of all, Michael is a great player. That´s the most important thing of all!
Honestly, the difference is really small. A is rounder and a bit mellower and B is brighter and bit more attack. I think A is Vintage and B is the reissue. However, for the money, I'm very happy with the reissue no matter which one is which. Thank you for construct such a great content and very nice playing!
B is the original Burst, imho. why do I think so? I believe with guitar A I recognize the character of the Custombuckers, which is a tad more mid focused and less open in the treble range as with guitar. But they are so very similar - which is really amazing!
Would also go with B being the 60 Burst. But... the real frustrating thing is how close both are when blind-tested. As Oswin said, if we saw what is what we would all go "of course, it's obvious, totally clear.....". And then again, Michael can make a cigar box with some old wire sound fantastic.

Guitar A is the sound I like best. So I assume that A could be the original burst 60. But I hope not….. Because I would like to be able to afford that guitar with the A sound. And hat off, for the players who does make sound both guitars at its best.

Well to me they sound the same can't tell any difference then it's over TH-cam probably different in the room, more important which one feels more comfortable to play.
I think A has a deeper , wider and more precise sound which I prefere. But I'm not a guitar expert of gibson , so if the 60' vintage should be better I'll bet A is the vintage one.
Guitar A got more hair, less compression and less focus of the fundamental frequency of the notes - so it souns waaay more balanced and pleasing. Guitar B has a more compressed tone and much clearer fundamental frequencies of base notes, so much clearer articulation and note separarion. I prefer the well blended character of guitar A but guitar B is wonderful as well. Not so apparent in the cleans - they are pretty evenly matched there. With higher gain the tonal differences are more obvious to my ears.
B has less character coming from the wood. Tighter and brighter, definitely modern Alnico 3 pickups that they are using. Guitar A has the bite of Alnico 2.
I think guitar a the 1960 but both guitars sound awesome they are slightly different you like a smoother warmer tone guitar is the best choice but if you want a brighter and biting tone guitar b would be the choice I would like to hear a modern reissue with real pafs compared to a vintage example and see how close they are..

In some cases there would be some modern reissue guitar that sound better becuase not every vintage les paul was a tone machine. There were and are very average sounding vintage examples and the truly magical examples are probably less common than the mythology would have us believe. The truly magical ones were and are a cut above anything else but not every vintage example falls in that category. .

Guitar-B is original 1960 ... Guitar-A is 2020 Les Paul! ... Guitar-B sounds brighter because it has no caps on the pick-ups ... :-)

if you look closely the tip the horn is wider on the NEW reissues from what I have noticed

1:02. First riffs and I tought "if that is not the burst is the best souding reissue I´ve ever heard". Just happened to be the burst.
Yup now the Doug and Pat show had them much closer sounding than this but that first clip to my ears sounds distinctly different.

All I know is that I prefer guitar A - just. It's close.
B sounded a little brighter at times, A sounded a bit more rounded, smoother.

Real burst has to be B. I can’t describe it yet but I’m pretty sure I can always identify the newer custombuckers when I hear them
