  • Hello Friends!
We both started off as MedSurg Nurses as new grads so we decided to make this video on what we think some of the pros and cons are of being a MedSurg nurse. There are so many benefits to starting off as a medsurg nurse, but it is also an area in nursing that many shy away from because of its track record. Every pro can turn into a con and vice versa depending on how you look at it. As Medsurg nurses we learn so much and theres such a wide range of patients you come across that you can learn from, but that can also lead to feeling mentally and physically tired.
Let us know what you guys think are the pros and cons about working as a Med Surg Nurse. What did we miss?
Until Next Time, always...thanks for watching :)

You guys make me so happy ☺️☺️ I just got a job on a medsurg floor with TWO of my good friends. They've both been working there for 6 months and I just finished my 3rd shift today as a new grad. It's so fun to be able to have 2 homegirls to work with and I'm liking the environment so far! Our patients aren't super critical and the staff is always willing to help us as newbies with new skills! Watching you guy's channel really shows me how friendship and nursing can be such a joy :). You guys have such an energy about you, and I feel exactly like this when I'm talking to my friends at the nurses station. Thank you for being an inspiration to me! *Random note* as the 3 newbies on the floor, our nurse manager is letting us design t-shirts for our unit for nurses week 😂

Thank you for the informative video. Can I ask how long you stayed in the med/surgical unit? Is it easy to transfer to another specialty? How many patients did you take care of in the med/surgical unit? I heard from 5 to 15 beds from the other TH-camrs.

Cardiac Tele MS floor is where we started off as well. To be honest we did not know where to go to next either, we just knew we did not want to work as MS nurses anymore and decided to do travel nursing. We just attempted to make moves and allowed the process to flow. Attempt to sit with yourself and think about what are your goals and what excites you in life in terms of your career and go with that and allow the events to unfold. Hope that helps. Good luck! Thank you for the support :)
