When I saw "Our favorite plac e so far" in the thumbnail, I was immediately reminded of Jordan saying "This is the best anchorage ever!" at almost every anchorage. 😀
Sailing in 20 ft seas is a bad ass move, but turning upside-down in the rapids without a major panic attack and actually laughing is a whole other level.
Lived here my whole life and thrilled you all love us here in the mountains. I’ve watched you channel ever since you started with Atticus 1 and never in a million years thought your family would have came here with all the worlds most popular places. Hope your family lands here… I am much further in western North Carolina by an hour and half or so but also in the same mountain and approximately 20 minutes from Mt Mitchell and hope you visit here also sometime. Good luck in finding where you desire to raise your family and feel you could not have made a better choice!
Dude awesome to see you whitewater kayaking. Lot's of good rivers around you. You picked the number one place for it for sure! Been watching from the beginning but really loving the change. Good luck to you and the family!
I have a feeling you guys will find something in this area, at least I'm hoping. It's very nice and you guys seemed pretty comfortable in the video. I also don't think you guys wanna be to far away from your families either. Thanks for the update on their situation to in florida. Glad their houses made it through it.
We just had breakfast, but after seeing this, I'm hungry again. Can't beat southern cooking. Thank you so much for these Saturday morning adventures, You guys look so happy.
Guys We live in Knoxville and Bryson is our favorite destination. We have been going to for day trips and weekends for over 20 years. Everett Street is our favorite morning diner. There are great hikes and destinations all around as well as great access to the GSMNP. Our kids love it so much they spend at least a week there every year with their family's and have even shared the "secret" with their friends and neighbors. It would be a great choice for your family. Ed and Sue DeMIk
What a beautiful place to settle down. It seems to be very home-like in every way, even to me. The culture is very warm and friendly and hospitable to new ones like yourselves there. Maybe this is the place...lol. Absolutely beautiful adventure again, so keep up the great work.
Great job in the kayak! As a lifelong sailor and 20+ years as a a whitewater kayaker and playboater I can say you might be a natural! Learn all the types of rolls and you will get better and more comfortable immediately! Check out the NOC in the area. Fun place!
I have recently moved to Roanoke VA and we are surrounded by trail heads to the AT. Lots of kayaking, canoeing, hiking, exploring just like yall like ;-)
Great episode as always!! I can't wait to for the next episode! I have been to Klingman's Dome twice and both times it was too cloudy to see anything. It is pretty cool though to be standing in the clouds!!
Awesome video for my Saturday morning coffee. So informative. Bryson looks like a great place to live. Fun and scary white water rafting. Thanks for sharing.
I travel through that part pf NC every time I'm back in the US visiting family, and I love it there. I've been to the Oconaluftee Village a few times and have learned more about American history than I ever did in school ("Unto These Hills" is a great summer theater show, by the way). If I were to move back to the States, that area would be high on my list.
What IF… you live inland up to about an hour’s drive from the water… where you can buy a cheaper sailboat and enjoy day sailing? We live in Michigan about 50 minutes away from our 30’ sailboat and in the summers we stay onboard. In the winter we enjoy land life. We’ve never been world cruisers, but we love sailing so much we can’t picture life without it. Just wanted you to know there is an option if you still love sailing - it’s a way to enjoy all the perks with not near as many adversities as cruising. It could become recreational. Just a thought! ❤
Thanks for the video. It's nice to see you guys settling into your new lives. Oh, and thanks for the Christmas gift for the missus. She's gonna love that pen!
Love Bryson City! Grew up rafting the Nantahala River every summer. It’s a great family river. You’ll have to take your girls rafting there when they are older.
We live in north Georgia at the foothills of the mountains but go to Bryson City often. I have ridden my Goldwing all over that area and continue to return. Love that area. Good choice for a new home...
Have a look at Brevard, NC. I spent many a summer there working as a camp counselor at Camp Gwynn Valley. Highly recommend the town and the community and also the camp. Some of my best memories are from there!!!
Whatever location selected in the Apps such as Fontana or Bryson is the right place for anyone. I have camped at Fontana Damn near Fontana Village on 4th of July, I felt as though I had turned to my home after 40 years away, because I once lived in Southern Pines, NC after military service 1972-74 to heal. The Apps Forest did just that
I don't know what it was about this little town, but you guys really did look at home there more than any of the other towns you've toured so far. What a beautiful area.
Jordan and Desiree - We are in a similar situation as you. Not that we were sailing around the world, but that we are living in Florida and want to get out. It was work that brought us to Florida, but now that I am retired we want out. For a few years we have been looking for a place to retire. We looked all over Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and a few other places. On the East Coast, Bryson City has been one of our favorites too. You would get a vote from us if this turns you pick that area. I am a west coast kid, and we will probably settle out there because it is closer to the majority of our kids and grandkids. I look forward to seeing if Bryson City becomes your choice.
Wow. Another great video! Love it. And such a beautiful area. We vacationed close to there (about 30 minutes away) in Maggie Valley a couple years ago! Loved the area! We could have been close neighbors since we were looking for a place to retire, but the Grandkids were in another state unfortunately. Good luck finding a place and look forward to the next one!
Bryson City is a great area. I spent a few summers working at the nearby Nantahala Outdoor Center, teaching whitewater kayaking and as a safety kayak on ww rafting trips. That was years ago, before I moved out west to Colorado.
Bryson is my FAVORITE place ... grew up going there every summer, and will one day buy a place up there as a second home. Evertt Street is one of our fav spots. BUT DARNELL IS ANOTHER LEVEL GUYS. FOR REAL THE BEST PART OF NORTH CAROLINA They were devastated by Hurricane Helene and had lots of flooding in their fields losing crops. Tubing Deep Creek is the best thing in the summer.
That's so cool that you may end up in Bryson City. My Barker family came from there. My Grandparents lived on Littie Alarka mountain. Dad went to school in one room church/school house. There was a Barkers restaurant there in Bryson City. Definitely take the train ride.
Bryson City is a lovely area for sure. You missed the train ride!!! My wife and I also did some waterfall hunting up that way. We loved the area too. We are down in Sanford NC and given a longe weekend Bryson City is a great place to go. Nice choice!!!❤
The map you show is the beginning of the Appalachian Mountain should include part of Alabama. Come check out Lake Guntersville! Flagg Mountain last 1,000ft peak in the mountain range. It is in Sylacauga, AL. The Pinhoti trail connects to the AT. In north Georgia.
Bryson City is awesome!! A GREAT area if you love mountain life!! I grew up northwest of there in East Tennessee (Johnson City - Kingsport - Bristol area but spent many hundred of hours in those mountains. I wish I was there now.
We accidentally went on the Tail of the Dragon looking at real-estate. We are from Texas and plugged in an address on the GPS, it routed us down the dragon. My first thought was, boy, this road has a LOT of curves! LOL. Luckily, we were in a Z71 Camaro with the T-tops off. I finally caught on to what was going on and had a blast.
Deserai, Desaray, not sure how to spell it, sry. But her cracking up over Jordan’s attempt to the Cherokee lingo. 😂 (priceless). We love your educational videos ❤
Have you looked into the USDA EQIP program? EQIP provides technical and financial assistance to agricultural producers and forest landowners. Another TH-cam I saw utilized the program while purchasing land from a retiring farmer.
I really enjoy your content. Excellent episode. As for the river adventure, that was very entertaining, but I don't do anything "white water"... be it rafting or anything floating...the thought of doing so is terrifying to me.
Honestly, I am as much, if not more, attracted to your channel as a land lubber bc there is a lot more variety of living in the style of life you seem to have chosen. Can't wait for the next video. Tanks for sharing.
Wonderful episode, great production. Out of the three sailing channels we watch you, Dellos and La Vagabonde you have the best production in my opinion. We settled and live in Maryville TN, just over the Smokey's from Cherokee and right by an international airport Magee Tyson Knoxville. Worth a stop to see the area. All the best to you three and soon to be four!
If you want to read some great stories about Bryson City Dr Walt Larimore has a few books he had written about his and his family's time living in Bryson City.
You’ll love WNC, as long as you don’t pay attention to politics; it was on our list when relocating our daughters from Florida. We chose northern Appalachian Vermont because NC has been gerrymandered and is owned by republicans and corporations. Wisconsin gives us hope that it can be undone. Good luck.
Hey Bud’s! Cool video!! When I see The Cherokee Nation I always think about The Movie The Outlaw Josey Wales… Chief Dan George… Who played Chief Lone Waddy! 👍
Right on the outskirts of Nantahala’s Forest is perfection! My wife grew up in Asheville and has family out near Bryson and Bryson is a little GEM of a town in NC. Absolutely beautiful place
I just knew from the time you all decided to come ashore that you would come back home to NC. Yall got a good taste of southern hospitality when your home base was in Little Washington and its cool to see you loving the other side of our state as well. So, welcome back yall'.
Great city Bryson City. I have a second home on the Tuck over in Cullowhee. Let me know if you’re still in the area. Also my neighbor has a home for sale on the Tuck. Let me know if interested.
*Whitewater kayaking. Was this a 'one time thing' or are you ....planning on getting into this? That underwater scene @5:20 was Frightening.... I was gasping for Air....for you. I guess, I don't know why... people take a chance of losing their life. Sorry...but I'm > Not 22 anymore / not single / 2 children / not Invincible.
Oh Jordan Jordan Jordan. You’re too far too intelligent young man to buy into all the globe hype. Please seek out some of David Weiss videos or Eric Dubay

Once lost on Mt Mitchell, dark lost, looking for my brother's place in Hawk. Before GPS...lol
Dude awesome to see you whitewater kayaking. Lot's of good rivers around you. You picked the number one place for it for sure! Been watching from the beginning but really loving the change. Good luck to you and the family!
Claire was a great instructor for keeping you safe. Beautiful area.
ive ridden my harley all around Bryson city, Murphy, Cherokee, etc! beautiful country!
The beauty of North Carolina is you have mountains on one side and an ocean on the other with a moderate climate.
I have a feeling you guys will find something in this area, at least I'm hoping. It's very nice and you guys seemed pretty comfortable in the video. Morning and welcome back to WNC. I must say, you're making Florida Man a little homesick.
I’m so excited for your new adventure. This may be parasocial, but I care about your growing family and it’s nice to see you every Saturday morning🤍

Love you guys! Jordan, it was wonderful to see you on/in the water again. Thank you for the Cherokee education. Be well. ❤
The place is so beautiful 😍 🤩 👌 ✨️ 💖 😢
So beautiful! Charming & welcoming area.❤

Thank you so much for another weeks adventure! I'm glad your folks are alright, and I can't believe you sucked me into buying a hover pen!
Glad you guys gave Bryson a try! My wife and I love to visit there.
As always, very informative and entertaining content!😁👏👏👏
Great job in the kayak! As a lifelong sailor and 20+ years as a a whitewater kayaker and playboater I can say you might be a natural! Learn all the types of rolls and you will get better and more comfortable immediately! Check out the NOC in the area. Fun place!
Do it! One of the most beautiful, friendly and great place to have a young family ever. ❤
I always learn something when I watch yall. I like that. Thank you
That looks like an awesome place to move your family! Can't wait for next week's episode 🤗💞
I have recently moved to Roanoke VA and we are surrounded by trail heads to the AT.
Lots of kayaking, canoeing, hiking, exploring just like yall like ;-)
You always make very excellent videos thanks so much love your family well done 🎉
Welcome to NC! There are LOTS of great things to do in the Bryson / Robbinsville / Fontana area!
We live in Northern VA and have visited Bryson City, NC and few times and LOVE IT!
What a wonderful voice from the tour guide.
Thank you for sharing the visit to a Cherokee museum, I have always been fascinated by Native American cultures.
Spent the week of Christmas there about 10 years ago. We loved it!
Good Morning SPA. Have a wonderful day.

Us North Carolinians would be happy if you called our state your new home. Great video.
Great video. Yes, what a great anchorage as you two used to say.
Lovely area. My late brother moved his family from Orange Park, Fl to that area in the 80's. Interesting....your tour guide has a lovely voice.

I don't know what it was about this little town, but you guys really did look at home there more than any of the other towns you've toured so far.
What a beautiful area.

One of the best places in western NC. Take a hike up Deep Creek for some great trout fishing.
North Carolina is awesome.
Since you are in the area you MUST check out the Tail of the Dragon. It is a great motorcycle run. I have ridden it many times.
We accidentally went on the Tail of the Dragon looking at real-estate. We are from Texas and plugged in an address on the GPS, it routed us down the dragon. Love Bryson City, been there done that. Bryson would be a great pick to raise a family.
You have to try the BBQ wagon, family favorite in Bryson.
Say hello to the Perkins Brothers!
Great video. Such a joy to see Isabella grow before our eyes, such a cutie!! Just curious, when is Desiree due date? Stay safe out there my friend!
should I say Welcome Home 🏡 🏡 from Lake Lure NC

That is some wild adventuring. Beautiful video, good luck with your decision making
Glad you got to experience white water kayaking! It quite a rush!😊
I'll be your neighbor if you move to the Bryson City area!
Love your videos!! My husband and I went to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge about 10 years ago…beautiful area!!
Greetings from a long-time follower in Asheville. Have kayaked the Tuckaseegee many times. LOVE the ALDIS shopping bag. Smart shopper!

Will be in BC for Christmas. Love it there🤨

Did I see a new baby in your dad’s arms in the opening?!
Buy some land, live in your rv. No better plan in that area.

Yeah I’m not getting in a kayak like that. I’d be to claustrophobic in that thing.
Oh Jordan Jordan Jordan. You’re too far too intelligent young man to buy into all the globe hype. Please seek out some of David Weiss videos or Eric Dubay
I don’t want to put my mom, worry-wart gene on full display, but please, no more white water kayaking 😮
