Happened to me yesterday. Lucky no injury except wrist sprain and a couple bruises so far... i was in shock for like 10 seconds before i noticed what happened.
the first thing i said after me and my mom was hit by a drunk driver (keep in mind my mom had to wake me up because the airbags knocked me out) i said JESUS really loud 🤣

When it comes to reliability you just know that Toyota will just simply work with no bells or whistles or excuses
I recently got into a car accident where the other driver was making a left turn while I was going through a green light. All I saw was her car before it hit my driver side. All I could think was wtf, why is she going when I have right away.. she’s going to stop right? Then bam, air bags deployed on my side and my stirring wheel airbags deployed. I am so grateful that my car protected me even though it got totaled in the process.

I had a crash yesterday and air bags deployed. Wanted to see if it looked as bad as it felt.
I just had an accident today and my airbag deployed. Wanted to see it in slow motion.

This happened to me last night..and I was the driver never will get the smell of airbag dust out of my head
I was in a a bad head on collision. It is the worst smell. Not just because it stinks but because it is a reminder of the traumatic experience.

This song is just called "A13" from the Random 35 Tracks Tape. Can't say I've been a fan as long, but I have a deep appreciation of their music. If you want to dive into their Few Old Tunes and R35T Tapes, they have decent quality rips of their cassettes at rareboc .ax .lt (If you remove spaces of course.) Nice to see another BoC fan!

A airbag works if a crash touches the three sensors the airbags will deploy and if I doesn't the airbags won't deploy
And if the crash is not hard enough the airbags will delay like in movies and also some cars like SUV,Sedan,van,minivan,truck all have airbags some cars have the takata recalled airbags if ur car is under 2008 the airbags will rupture meaning metal fragments from the AC tube and power assistant brakes will if u step on the brakes the car is now unstoppable just like the mark sailor accident 10,000 cars got recalled so they blamed floor mats but that was a small part of the puzzle (900 likes for part 2!)

In the case of Impact with acceleration greater than 3 G ( G = Gravity Force )
Changes car to car. Also the sensors that set it off are in different spots. It really depends.
airbags deploy if you are going 14 mph or higher when hitting a solid. when hitting a stopped or parked car, it deploys at 16 mph.
Out of topic but in the crash tests whats with the side airbag even used for even though it was a front crash test

Cool how fast they deploy. I wonder how fast you would have to be going for you to hit the steering wheel before the airbag had a chance to deploy? Got to be very fast I'm assuming. At which point? Probably doesn't matter if you had an airbag or not lol.
My RAV4 saved my life… the officer said if I was in any other car I most likely would’ve been dead.
My wife hit an idiot broadside that did not yield to oncoming traffic when he was turning left on a green light. She was probably going 40 mph when she hit him. Totaled her 2015 Lexus, but walked away without a scratch. Going to get another Lexus today.
Yup, I'm on the lookout for a good deal on a Lexus or any Toyota, really.
My girlfriend totalled her small Corolla and walked away scratch free. Her neck is a bit sore, though, so we are monitoring that with our doctor.

I see your point but but they deploy in head on collisions because the windows often break so it avoids sharp glass from coming into the car. also debris from the crash can also come in the car to be a hazard so they deploy to keep stuff out of a car/truck in a head on collision
At the bottom at the passager seat and drivers seats there was a airbag at the bottom
Yup, they're there to help prevent serious knee and lower leg injuries that result from you sliding forwards slightly in your seat during a severe crash.

Very!!! Was in a car accident last week I had the right of way and a guy took the stop sign. The seatbelt saved my life

I used them and they work well
in this test what is required is a system that compensates with the return force of the driver or passenger after airbag deployment, so the back of the seat has to on impact move forward and attempt to cushion the return force of persons occupying it, basically compensating the g force.

Airbags already compensate with venting holes to so you won’t bounce back. It deflates after 100 milliseconds so that after the first contact you’d „fall“ into it while it deflates

Far more likely to save you than kill you, especially when you're wearing a seatbelt. They test on cadavers, too.
