I read all of these books. As an Accountant and Finance nerd, these are good starting books to read. I gave the Rich Dad Poor Dad to my 19 year old stepson and it clicked like lighting a fire 🔥in ya. Makes you really motivated. The millionaire next door shows how actual millionaires are, with numbers to back it up. Richest Man in Babylon goes through stories to help cement the financial advice. Think and grow Rich goes into behaviors that lead to success if I remember correctly.
I love all of these books. Definitely started the fire in me to financial independence. The one I love most that I didn’t recommend is the Millionaire Fast track. This one showed me I should have multiple streams of income, and how to monetize ideas. I just felt like it would be too much for someone who had no previous experience in managing their money.
Hi Jody! Do you think you could do a video on the process of moving to your first duty station? Like if the AF pays for moving trucks and how it was like for you moving to another place? Thank you!
I can do one. But @sameckholm did one that would be better than anything I could do. You can check his out. I hope it helps. th-cam.com/video/zA2WrF-DTqo/w-d-xo.html
I made this video. It has some perks about the Air Force if you haven’t seen it already. Lemme know if you think I should make another one with more perks. th-cam.com/video/vjrdZGdf8SI/w-d-xo.html
so let’s say if you already have an apartment or house before joining do you still get BAH for that house you have a lease on or can you set it up to you can?
If you’re not married or don’t have dependents, you will not receive BAH when you come in. But if you’re married or have dependents, you’ll collect BAH for the zip code you’re from originally, and then once you move to the location you’ll be working, you’ll start receiving BAH for the new zip code. I made a video which explains it for you. th-cam.com/video/WU6mQ-ewLWY/w-d-xo.html
I honestly just use TH-cam. Lol. I download copyright free music right off of TH-cam mostly. I also have a few producers send me beats, but mostly TH-cam.
Hello Sir, The Air Force has recently peaked my interest from all other branches and I would really like to become a Special Missions Aviator. I was just wondering how likely I am to get this job? If it’s a job that is over staffed or if it in need?
It is not that common honestly. They have limited positions so the jobs are rare. Doesn’t mean it’s impossible, but I’d recommend you have some strong back ups.
I have heard that you get paid twice in the AF and that money disappear after some time of being unused is that true? or I did not understand what was said.
Hey Jody, I got a question. I had IEP’s all throughout high school and have some in college (that I haven’t touched once/am going into my senior year). Can these disqualify indvividials? I don’t have ADHD, ADD, OCD, dyslexia, etc. I usually just got extended time on tests and was allowed calculators on certain sections. This has been worrying about me because I want to talk to a recruiter but I don’t want to be turned away for something I haven’t used since high school.
If you were on An IEP MEPS would want to see it. Plus see your pharmacy records for the last 5 years. Your college transcripts will probably be your saving grace as long as you did well. You can show them and use them as proof you can learn without special assistance. I made a whole video exposing medical waivers. I don’t know if you’ve already seen it, but if not check this out. th-cam.com/video/ynKjsxegEPE/w-d-xo.html
Yes. They have the capability to allow you to create one in basic. You can also set up one online if you want to do it that way. I’d also recommend you talk with your recruiter and see how people do that normally. I hope this helps.
It really depends on a lot of things. First, what’s your financial goal. Are you trying to develop a cash flow, build equity in the house or both. Then once you figure that out, determine how much you’d be bringing a month and how much expenses would be, if any. Based off of those numbers that should help you figure out which direction you should go. If you PCS and wanna buy another house, the bank will want to see how many assets and income you have. If you don’t have enough, you may have a hard time getting a second loan, and either have to do a contingency loan or sell the property. I would recommend as you get closer, take a deep look into your finances and see what’s the best option. Also, a realtor can help as well. 🤙🏽
Make sure you are current on all of your bills. Make sure you don’t have too much debt when entering. And if you have any outstanding bills, make at least two payments, get receipts and write a letter explaining why you have the issue, but how you’re working on it, and it won’t happen again.
I used the calculator but I’m not sure if everything is right..I’d be going in married with a child as well and it says I would enter no rank getting around 39k a year? Seems off
@@Jodywithawhy True, I just used my own zip code for comparison. The Midwest housing allowing seems pretty standard on top of that. Less to be honest since people act like having a kid is such a struggle at lower ranks.
After taxes, the money doesn’t seem as much. But pay is still pretty good in the Air Force. I think we get paid enough to support a family, but as a new airmen I can see how people will struggle, especially without any financial education.

@@Jodywithawhy thanks for the recommendation, I just placed that book on my list of books to read.
Great advice! Tracking & being honest about where money is going is the best first step to saving
It’s definitely humbling to start tracking your spending if never done. 😅
Keep up where you money is going will boost your savings just that much . Because you can take responsibility of spending
Learn about your TSP!! If you can afford it don't just do your 5% do 7% at least. You wont miss it. Don't leave it in the (L) cycle funds.
Great book recommendations. T&GR has been a game changer! Another great video. Thank you sir!
Yep. That book changed my life man. The 10X Rule too if you haven’t read that one

Hey, thanks fr the advice.
Question.
On entering the USAF, do the help you with paying off your debts?
I have so many questions 😩 regarding what will hinder you from joining with debt
You can’t have a debt to income ratio of more than 40%. That’s using your Air Force base pay as your income. Does that answer your question?
I have heard that you get paid twice in the AF and that money disappear after some time of being unused is that true? or I did not understand what was said.

I highly recommend The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey
That’s a good one too. 🤙🏽
I’m in the process of enlisting from overseas. I don’t have a US bank account, will I be able to set one up at bmt?
Yes. They have the capability to allow you to create one in basic. You can also set up one online if you want to do it that way. I’d also recommend you talk with your recruiter and see how people do that normally. I hope this helps.
@@Jodywithawhy thanks, as long as there is a capability I’m good to go…
Hey Jody I was wondering if mild acne on the face is disqualifying?
Not mild acne. But major acne that hirts and requires major acne medication can potentially be disqualifying

I was 20. Young and dumb. Lol
Any advice on financial information/credit check before speaking with a recruiter?
Make sure you are current on all of your bills. Make sure you don’t have too much debt when entering. And if you have any outstanding bills, make at least two payments, get receipts and write a letter explaining why you have the issue, but how you’re working on it, and it won’t happen again.
