    A real musician’s analysis is so fascinating! Dang your ear picks up the chords so fast.

    • @1Ma9iN8tive
      @1Ma9iN8tive 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      I heard it explained like this:-
      A pro musician hears chords just like a pro artist sees colours and a pro chef tastes flavours…
      Two of the many concepts that connects cooking, music and painting is “tone” and “flavour”.
      Musicians, chefs and artists just immediately “KNOW” how to recognise, identify and reproduce the recipe’s of their “flavour tones” after years of learning how to cook in the studio.
      This song is tonelicious.

      In what way are they musically more advanced? I’m not very astute in the technicalities of music. I just know that I like what I hear, so I wanna know.

    • @nickyrusin3164
      @nickyrusin3164 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@chi2twn this is not the typical song u can just like repeat 3-5 chords whole way through the song like a lot of pop songs do. And some chords they use are not easy to catch or predict on first listen. A more simple song to compare would be Charlie puths one call away. Not saying he is a simple minded artist but that song specifically is really easy to catch onto first try. Chords are pretty simple. But then again I’m no musical genius so I can just be speak out my ass lol

    I LOVE watching someone with musical knowledge fall in love with the same songs I do! Love the joy you emit when watching and the knowledge you share. Props to Bruno for finally having some REAL Black Women instead of video vixens. Real Women don't need all the fake boobs, butts, to be beautiful. 1970s GOLD Baby! Way to bring a smile to my face..."Oh My, Oh My"...
    Anderson Paak is amazing -- drumming and singing at the same time is difficult. Bruno is really showcasing Anderson with the Silk Sonic songs which are awesome and something artists of his stature don't readily do. Anderson's talent is freaking awesome but he has not had the exposure Bruno has. Silk Sonic is changing that! Love this video, all the 70's vibe again like their prior video; the bicycle, VW Bug, Bus, and delivery truck, the girls' rollerskates, their outfits, the congas, instruments, and even the fan in the background - all legit 1970s. Bruno Mars is at his best with the 70's vibe and is extremely detail-oriented when staging his videos and camera work. Did you notice how the camera blurs out Bruno to give Anderson the focus? This song reminds me of the boys in high school in the '70s going to Ocean Beach in San Francisco every day after school and jamming!

    How good is this…brings back all the feels. So current and exactly what we need right now. Such a collaboration, so pretty makes your heart sing. Music communicating in the best way possible. Beautiful natural ladies, 70’s goodness. Bruno grasps that it has to be good by his standards and we have to be grateful for his sensibility. He and Anderson are both such individual talents and together they bring out the best in each other, using everything from personal connect, humour, there love of what they know and what they still have to learn. Top toe toe, song, video, concepts, surrounding themselves with the best, quarantine, what’s going on around them are al apparent. Most of all respect for what they release, they care about that too. Silk Sonic better get their SKATEs on and the Grammys better LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN. The award season is going to fun. Can hardly wait to see this live and hear the rest of the album.🔥🛼🔥🛼🔥🛼🔥🛼🔥🍾Great reaction 🐨👏🏼

    Great reaction bruh! I would say Philly International sound is an influence on this one too, & that string line, similar to the Car Wash movie theme song. I would say actually APaak’s voice is more similar to the other lead singer in the O’Jay’s, not LaBert but the other cat, I think it’s Walter Williams. Bruno is like Marvin or Sam Cooke, in that he can go in & out of the grit vocally, but his freakin power is off the chain. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever heard Bruno sing a note even slightly off pitch. Not many in the biz you can say that about.

      I agree! The strings in the background make this song for me.

    Gamble and Huff are probably so proud of these two. With “Leave The Door Open” and “Skate”, you can hear everything that made the Philly sound so great back in their prime. The deceptively difficult balance between simple and fun lyrics that reflected popular phrases and trends with beautiful chords/instruments/strings underneath those vocals and their melodies is everything Gamble and Huff helped to popularize in the 70’s. I’m sure Silk Sonic knows their history, and we’re so lucky to be experiencing this in real-time.

    I would like to recommend Time the Valuator and their song When I Meet Death! Not quite sure how to describe their music, but this song has a lot of piano mixed in with rockish guitars and clean vocals!

    I love your reviews and piano breakdown, but this time when you played your piano the panning from left to right earphone over and over again beat up my brain a bit. Also really enjoying the more candid cursing Music Shed. Keep it up, much love.
