I had to bring home six suitcases because I couldnt figure this out, I was unluckily there right when this whole method changed so I was so lost! Will try this next time for sure
I got 2 questions. Do they have too see all the items that are being sent when loading up the box ? I got no problem showing them my random items just curious. Also is there an English speaker at the post office? Im wanting to buy lots of figures and random souvenirs, maybe some retro consoles so im thinking this may be the best option to go with considering i live in Australia 🙂
Hello. You can check the Japan Post website for shipping cost to the US (6:30 is from the Japan Post website) Let me give you the link here: www.post.japanpost.jp/int/charge/list/parcel4_en.html# You can choose either "airmail" or "surface mail" meaning by air or by ship. Thank you!
Hello! I would like to purchase a bulk amount of Tamiya acrylic paints in Japan and ship them to the USA. I believe this can be done by boat? I would probably spend 300 USD. Any information would greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hey, thanks for the video 🙏 Is it okay if I don’t know the weight of my package before dropping it at the office? Also, can I just arrive with my items at the post office and buy a box there, and pack it there?
The post office staff in major train stations most likely speak better English. I suggest you try the Central Post Office next to Tokyo Station because they open daily and staff speak good English.
Hello. You definitely can ship a suitcase instead but I don’t think that’s a cost effective option. If you check in an extra suitcase with your airline company, they may only charge you extra ~$60??? Sending a suitcase may cost a lot more. I also found this in Japan Post website, hope this helps: “You need to submit it unlocked or locked with the key attached since customs may need to open it for inspection. Considering the security of your mail, we strongly recommend that you pack it in a cardboard box.”
hello i have a question, i plan to go to japan someday and i feel like i will spend a lot 😭 what do you recommend/which is cheaper takking more luggage or sending it to your home country? i know that customs can be pretty expensive if your luggage is over the worth of around 400€ and i wonder if it is cheaper to send a package?
Hello. It depends on what you are going to ship. If something light, non fragile, and bulky such as snacks and toys, it would be better to ship. If something heavy such as clothing, it might be better to check in with an extra luggage. You can always weigh your items to see how much it costs before shipping.
do you have issues with the mobile version login too? everything works fine on the pc version, but on the mobile version the website display error when you try to login Edit : I eventually managed to overcome this issue. In order to do that I use the japan post website in japanese only, it's somehow the english version that causes troubles, and when you log in to your account, always type manually your email adress and password. Do not use any kind of password or email adress manager.

Hello! EMS is faster but also costs more than parcel service. Unless you need to ship something urgently, airmail or surface mail should be good enough. Thanks
Very good

Hello! The biggest box I got from the Japan post office was 13.5”x13”x17.5” and it’s very durable.
