Just for those of you interested I’m using my Sonicake Blue Skreamer to Boost the Blackstar Amped 2 for the gainy stuff & the Amped 2 USA clean for the twangy twang 👍
Appreciate this thorough and informative review...I'm literally pulling the trigger on the Schecter Super Shredder Exotic Ziricote this afternoon and coincidentally your review popped up on TH-cam. Google and its mind-reading capabilities lol...I own 2 Schecters and absolutely love them. Just well-built, smooth-playing, great-sounding, no-nonsense, awesome-looking guitars with the features that guitarists want and utilize. Love the X-Jumbo frets on them as well.
I just tried one of these used today. It was heavy as a boat anchor, but it felt pretty amazing. I was going to buy it but it looks like somebody did a fret leveling job and didn't crown half the frets so they were like flat, lol. I brought this to the music shops attention and they're going to see if they can crown the frets properly and make sure everything's good.
@Ninecore Neil hey Neil..love Schecters. I think it's one of the brands that gives you most bang for the buck. Got a newbie question for you. When I'm playing around the 20th fret or so area on my schecter reaper vs esp ltd les paul, it's a lot harder for me to get the note clean on my schecter. Seems to me that the frets on the schecter are a hair bit closer spaced. Is that how it is on a super strat vs les paul style instrument? Or is that just my imagination?
@@allboutthemojo the tension will be higher on the Schecter due to a longer scale length so it might be a little harder to fret Also the action could be different
Great review and video 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I’m in the market for a sunvalley but I’m torn between the Super shredder Satin black FR-S or this Exotic FR .. any help would be appreciated on which is a better build quality ! Thanks
I should imagine they will be pretty equal this one here is as good as it gets it’s a very solid guitar Hope that helps a bit Thanks for the compliment too
80's super shredder style guitars generally have Floyd's, and many guitarists shy away from that spec for various reasons. S type with a Floyd Rose trem will never find a home in my collection. Closest thing to a shred guitar I own is my LTD '87 Eclipse NT in pearl white with '59 and JB. Works great for most old school metal and classic rock. Next to that is my LTD te1000 black blast with the more modern voiced pickup combo Sentient and Pegasus. I've got a heavily modded Sterling Cutlass CT50 HSS in firemist silver that does almost everything. TB-14 and two SSL-6's have really woke that baby up! Then if I'm really feeling rowdy, the AJ sig from Epiphone comes out with the EMG 81/85 ZW set in it.
There is a HT version of these guitars, not sure why people shy away tbh you hardly ever have to tune it ….I prefer the feel of a tone pros but Floyd’s are cool if you don’t want to worry about tuning mid gig
If you like this, check out the DJ Ashba signature...top mounted Floyd, kill switch, Sustainiac pickup in neck, EMG 81 in bridge, cool paint job, super cool "birds on a wire" fret inlays on ebony board. It's my main player.
It's a korean made guitar and shouldn't be £1549 for the left handed version, that puts me off straight away, why should I pay more just because I'm left handed. Also it's too much money for a korean made guitar fullstop. It's not far off a Ultra strat from Fender and some Gibson can be had for that money too. Will not hold it's value on the used market either.
They're $1250 here and a lot of guitar for that amount of money. $100 for a local luthier to level/crown/polish frets and you've got something that would go head to head with much more expensive guitars. I have an Indonesian made Strandberg I paid like $1700 for and it's great. I also have a $720 Mexican Charvel San Dimas and even out of the box, that was great. I also had a $3200 USA made Parker Mojo Fly and it was absolute trash that had so many problems, the dealer ended up having to buy it back and sending it back to Parker for their refund.

I’ve been looking at Ibanez, ESP and Charvel for a super strat style. Then I stumbled on this model from Schecter. This is the one I want.

That's not the black limba model, but Ziricote
Nice video! What about its action? Is it low?
Yes most Schecters are tbh

Umiesz zagrać coś normalnie na czystej gitarze czy tylko napierdalać w struny na gain dla mnie to nie jest test. Dramat
Sorry I don’t understand
I generally don't care for super strat type guitars but this one looks excellent
Yeah really nice
