      Is there a disadvantage when buying regular tickets from the official website?

    Foot pedals are much more hygienic. They have been in use for 50 years. Train from airport works really well, right to the center of the city

    This is a wonderful and informative video. Can you share the guided tour you used to enter the Vatican Museum? Was it $35pp with a tour? Thank you!

      Thanks! Yes, you can buy this ticket on the official website of the Vatican museum without a 3rd party.

    Great tips.
    Quick questions.
    1. Did you happen to see the hundreds of "poke bowl" outlets? Or the many Chinese restaurants?
    2. Why would anyone catch a taxi? Unless you arrive after 10pm when public transport slows down, of course.
    3. When you refer to "off season", when do you mean? Unless you are smart and steer clear of the main tourist areas.
    4. Buying tickets as part of a tour in the colosseo. Be aware there are staff timing and coordinating the various groups. If your guide spends more than 5 minutes in front of Mussolini's cross explaining the cross, the gate of the living, the gate of the dead etc it is common to be nudged along.
    5. Passport check??? I make it a point to not have more than E50 in my wallet at any given time. Plus transport pass, plus phone. No credit card, and DEFINITELY NO PASSPORT.
    Generally, great tips. I pity those who just go for a day or 2 and expect to see Musei Vaticani; San Pietro, il Pantheon, Trevi, Trinita` dei Monti, Navona only to say they've seen all of Rome.

      I think Rome will be less crowded last week of August, but please check if there’re any major holidays around that week, happy travels!

    Big thanks for sharing. Greetings from Chicago : As a first time visitor to Rome, you mentioned that there are random passport check, I normally bring only a photocopy of my passport & leave my actual passport in the hotel : do you think the passport photocopy is good enough?

    • @NewYorkerJuhui
      @NewYorkerJuhui  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for subscribing to this channel, and welcome to the community! I think a photocopy should be okay for random police checks on the streets, as long as the passport information is valid, but I can’t say for sure. What you don’t want is not having a valid ID with you at all times.

    In Italy, as well as all-over EU, as far as I'm aware, police can perform random id checks at any given moment. It is mandatory to have a vild id with you. This applies to locals as well as to foreigners.
