I like these down-to-earth tutorials for the new players. Just did my 7 day hoard last night and it went without a hitch. I am currently taking points into both Pummel Pete and Skull Crusher and deciding on if I like clubs better than sledges.. so far, it is about a tie but thinking I am going to focus on sledges.
Thank you! I'm already on day 42. I didn't build my own base, just started living an existing building. It's too inefficient to defend during horde night so I'm having a look at what a first hoard base should look like. Subbed!
An easy one for 1st. Horde is also just a 3x3x3 and then make a a trench 3-4 blocks away all the way around that is 4-5 blocks deep and fill it up with spikes not just 1 row of spikes but really fill it up.
Yeah Man, these are the videos I love to see! Lots of base building vids out there . Lots of different designs. Lots of different techniques to use. I would also like to mention, don't feel ashamed using someone's idea because their idea may give you an idea to build on theirs. I used Pixel Life Gaming, Cautious Pancake and Two-five with a bit of my own ideas to get my current base.(which is on video). Beware of making it look cool in the beginning though. Awesome Vid 25!
This is a great video mate, hope you do more. Often the logic behind the AI is more important to understand than just giving people a template to follow.
In my experience 150% xp is just not remarkably harder and feels a lot more like Alpha 12 or so, a level or 2 more likely a day if you are working hard. Hordes are manageable as rewards tend to scale as well.
I have mine 14 blocks above ground with stairs for them to run up. Then a 5 block „tight rope to me. When they fall off there are stairs on both sides of the stairs up to me so they can just run right back up to the main stairs that lead to me. Since I started doing it this way repairs are down about 90%.
IDK if the horde changed a lot since a21 or I just didn't get enough stuff done by the first horde, but the hordes I am taking on now are so much bigger then before.
TBH you don't need a base for the first couple Hordes - just find a sturdy POI and knock out roof access. You can spend the first few days doing more productive things like Rekt missions for a bike. That said, upgrading blocks is a very nice source of early XP, so there's still some incentive to build a bit.
@@GTSN38it's a free vehicle you automatically get by doing the progression you're going to do anyway, that you don't need to (learn to) assemble, which makes getting around initially a lot faster. It's a lot more useful than a Horde base on day 7.
@knifin_around I run faster than the bike and I don't get stopped by debris in the way. The only useful thing about the bike is a few more inventory spaces.
@@GTSN38You’re not using the bike right then cause it’s definitely faster than base sprint speed and like he said, far more useful than a day 7 horde base when that’s the easier horde to deal with.
Question i am new to the game but I been playing the game on warrior and I am in day 90 I have been pretty much going up from a house it’s pretty big knock off the ladder and stay in the attic but I ran into the problem of exploding zombie I am planing to go on top of the big hospital clear out the whole top and plan to be there till they pretty much break the hospital maybe even fight them off there the reason is because I wouldn’t have to spend resortes and I save it and all I have to do is move from location when they damage the place so if they break it down I move to the top of another building and repeat the process but I noticed that now is around the time where I need to build a nice base where I can fight them off something like this video for now I been saving all my resources I got bunch since I am almost at day 100 is there any base u recommend kinda like this to fight them off jw thanks
Hold a block in your hand, hold down square and select the shape menu from the radial menu that pops up - you will have over 2000 shapes to choose from (make sure the filter on the left isn't just filtered to basic by clicking on it) - let me know if it works!
How do we get half blocks and poles in console edition? I cannot figure it out. Even in creative I don't see them if I type in the search. I'm probably missing something very obvious but I am used to every possibilty just showing up in the crafting menu but it obviously isn't the same with 1.0.
If you hold X (Should be the same button you pressed to get the shape menu) you have a radial option, you need to move it to one that says "Advanced Rotation" and then you'll be able to place it sideways. In that menu you also have "copy shape, copy rotation" options which make building a lot easier too. Enjoy! :)
Cool video and nice base setup. However, it was too fast and you didn’t show enough of the actual building of the base, step by step. I’ll still leave a like for the work you put into the video for sure!
I think you're overestimating how fast new players can get cobblestone, considering questing and other important early-game activities. I came up with a cheaper version of IzPrebuilt's newer design, lowering the fighting position from 5 blocks to 4 and having blocks arranged in a cross shape for support instead of filling it in, saving around 48 blocks. Sure, that means less support, but I added scaffolding ladders to the floor so you can shoot at zombies in destroy area mode, and even throw pipebombs down onto them.
I mean not everything really needs to be stone on the day 7 horde. Just the essentials and you can get a lot of cobblestone from quests and it’s not to hard to farm it up to upgrade the essentials. Typically my first horde base isn’t my main one so I’m not gonna want to fully upgrade it anyways
@@josephkeller1775 The point was that new players are barely going to be able to scrape together enough cobblestone for a simple horde base. They're not going to be fast at questing or looting, or even harvesting stone and clay.
It's not an option in the base game, but a mod you have to install. If you're unsure how, there are plenty of tutorials on how to install mods in 7 Days here on TH-cam.

A video with end game HB would be nice Thx for all the time and work you put in youre videos!🤙
This just gave me some really good ideas to add to the horde base I've been running. Thanks!
I'm a big fan of using a poi for the first few hordes, there are many that work fantastic with little to no work, great guide!
A concrete poi with a double hatch in the only doorway is golden. Easy and cheap to build.
Thank you for this one!
On day 7 now got 5rank lever action from a ter 5 poi I spent 3 days there on 30 minute days but boy was it worth it😊

Is it better to do just horde base or horde/crafting base

oh I remember those times at console when only hordebase style was "boxing ring" type of melee base. 😆
Horizontal poles and wedges. I recently made a base like that in 1.0 and it's still decent if you have the right weapons.
Unfortunately for later hoards the “turtle” style base has been fairly impossible since A18

hello, is "The Long Shock" base still viable? :D
Why you don’t use an existing poi I’ll never know. Saves so much time and supplies
I talk about this at 6:11 in the video as an option a lot of people prefer - cheers
@ i clicked away too soon. Thanks for the reply!
I can’t find the half blocks and stairs on my console. Am I blind????
What are those damn window pieces called???

Good video but most of the blocks are not available on ps5

Hold a block, don't place it, press the reload button, that's the square on ps5 and you'll see a ring menu, choose the top option for shapes.
How do you get the scaffolding ladder to turn sideways on Console? I play Xbox and it just goes around in a circle

I mean you could easily build a horde base on day 1 with a shovel and an axe
