14:05 Saying “we both know that once you stop you can’t come back” while Chellsie is on beam is ironic, considering her comeback 2 quads later. Chellsie is so amazing
It's was good to see that Rebecca Bross came back to compete. Especially after her knee injury at day 2 of the 2011 Visa Championships. But only to do two routine, and not all four. It seems if she was unable Vault again since her knee injury, and Floor Exercise too.
Another random comment: Chellsie has gotten so pretty! She was never ugly, but it's striking how lovely her face has become. So sad she didn't make it to the Olympic team, one of my faves.
Very true - but at least you can count on her not to make any errors on her three better events - having an imperturbable athlete with high start values that can help lead the team is a huge asset, form notwithstanding.
Anyone else totally won over by Sarah? Beautiful gymnastics, lovely style, charming presence, great form and BIG skills. She's also been consistent If Gabby and Sarah make the team I'll be the happiest person in the world
I'm curious as to why the heck didn't they mention that Nastia most likely didn't get the switch-half-to-onodi because she cut the leap short. She wasn't anywhere near close on the switch ring either. Nastia's a great gymnast but she sure as hell doesn't walk on water, and to be perfectly honest I was really disappointed in her because of her half-assed comeback attempt. If she had really been serious she should have started about a year earlier so she could have given herself a chance.
ugh thank god someone feels the same way cause EVERY time and i mean every freaking time aly goes up they somehow bring up alicia and it pisses me of aly is a double gold medalist while alicia has a silver medal that she probaly doesnt even deserve js
I love Amanda Borden as commentator! And always great to hear from Shannon. I wish those two ladies along with Tim Dagget could be the regular NBC commentators...
YES YES YES!!!!!! Thank you so much that is so true, Alica blew the team final in 08. Aly was the MVP of the team final in 2012, Alica failed to win the gold medal on vault she was the favorite to win, she did not even medal in it. Aly won an unexpected medal on beam, and came through when she was expected on the floor. Aly is a USA Gymnastic hero and legend, Alica is a goat, and let down.
I know I'm a little late but touching the beam is 0.5 deduction whereas falling off is a 1.0 deduction, so by touching the beam and not coming off you save 0.5 :)
they might as well cancel team finals if it's any less than 5! personally i liked the 7 per team formal, i thought that was a fantastic way to enjoy as much gymnastics as possible and there was slightly less pressure on the athletes too. i guess liukin is waiting until the last minute to build momentum, she is the queen of PR! ;) i can't wait to see her work bars, i hope she has the same fluency and amplitude she used to!
Ok, Alicia was not the vault favorite in Beijing, if there was a favorite it was Cheng Fei who had swept the vault titles that quad. Alicia hit her vaults and came in fourth - she didn't have quite the difficulty as the medal winners. Also the US couldn't have caught China even without the two falls from Alicia asChina'a lead was over two points. She may not have had the greatest Olympics, however the "goat" you were talking about has nine world medals.
I think when she points her toes she turns her feet in a little at the ankle and that's what creates the gap in the ankle/calf. I imagine if she consciously turned her feet back out just a little her legs would come together. But as pascale1989 pointed out, it's probably never created any kind of significant problem for her scores so I don't think she would be too bothered.
I agree, she has been consistent though, I guess we'll have to wait and see. If she doesn't make it this year I sure hope she won't retire, she can have a great career
thank you! finally another gym fan with a decent ear for music floor. i had that same feeling for finnegan, i must say she is at the top of my 'dark horse' list for london. she could be in the 5th spot - the other four being wieber, raisman, douglas, maroney. unless liukin is actually decent on bars that is, because she would then be a shoe in, one of those 'princesses' andy memmel talked about...
Jordyn Wieber must have been tired because only did two performances routines instead of four or just preferred doing. I'm fan of Chellsie Memmel competitive gymnastic skills, as well as some of the other gymnasts too; including Jordyn. Even though Chellsie had a few mistakes on her routines.
absolutely! mitchell also has that "oh i'm a world champ now, i can whatever i want and call it choreography" attitude, yuck. as for moors, i am with you she is incredible!! the elegance, the toe point, the gorgeous lines, the tumble... and the music! now that peng peng lee is out - :( - moors will be my favorite canadian in london this summer!
Good for her to say enough, I think personally. She has done it, she tried again and her body clearly is not happy with the beating it takes to go through it all again. Better stop now, than do less than perfect trials and miss it out that way. She has her whole life ahead of her still, and the body needs to be in shape for that too. I will miss her gymnastics too, but you should always stop when you are on top!
Its nice to see Bross back. I dont like her gymnastics and i doubt she'll be in good enough shape to make the olympic team, but its good that she didnt let it stop her from trying. watching chellsie memmel's melt down was hard. I loved her back in her prime and it pains me to see her career end like this. i REALLY hope she puts a good showing come VISAs!
I know this is an old meet and most of the comments are years old but shut up about Alicia! She was NOT a letdown. If she was, she would've fallen off and walked away. Kinda like komova. She fought for the team and herself. I'd much rather have a fighter on my team than one who is successful but balks when the going gets tough. Alicia has her own success and she definitely has my admiration
(Though yes not as nice) Douglas can also do huge skills on vault like Maroney, such as the Amanar. She can score fairly well on floor, and as you said is great on bars. Thing is, Maroney also has a history of cracking as well...AND she isn't as well rounded in her repertoire as Douglas. THAT is what's going to hurt Maroney's chances. Ok so she is great on vault but nearly every major contender already has really high difficult vaults so she isn't needed in her best event even though impressive.
Its like she was trying to stick the landing, forcing her chest down to her knees, which is a 1-2/10 deduction, she probably should have over rotated it instead, and just taken the step forward.
I didn't see Rebecca Bross doubt her landings at all on balance beam! Considering it's her first competition (I think) since her injury last year, I think it was very good and deserved a little more credit than what the commentators gave her.
I'm attristed for Anna Li, I watched some videos of her and she is normaly better! That wasn't her best competition. I hope she's gonna pass over this and she won't give up!
She does need to improve on that, I agree. But she's cleaned up her floor routines and her landings are much cleaner and she didn't fall off the bars. If she works on her extensions, she will be fantastic.
aww thats such a shame. I rmbr watching her back in 03-04 and thinking she was bound to go places and then injury after inujry... life just isnt fair some times :(
Awesome event!. I look forward to the next test event before the London Olympics. I really high hopes for Gabby Douglas. She wasn't allowed to vault at this competition but that doesn't exclude from making the Olympic team. She is up there with Ali Raisman and Jordyn Weiber. Great event overall really enjoyed it...............
i hate how whenever aly raisman goes up at any competition the commenters always talk about alicia, alicia this alicia that like stop aly is waaaay more succesfull than her.
Finnegan's bar routine was nearly flawless, except she had her chest nearly touching her knees on the landing, but otherwise it was a very good, flawless routine, and she rocked it!
Ok, someone explain things to me. Tim said that this is the first major competition towards the olympics. I know that others are the american cup and visa nationals. What are the others and how do people get qualified for the events? And how do they ultimately get selected to go to trials?
I would think Kyla, she's a good all-arounder, and more importantly, she's putting up good bars scores. I do wish Nastia could come back though:( Also, I hope Kyla and Sarah can stay in top form for four more years so they can compete in 2016.
I completely agree. I don't know why she walks into the double arabian dismount. I just don't think that she has the strength in her knees to get the necessary block by walking into it. She really should be doing two back handsprings into the dismount. That might help her generate the momentum she needs, because right now walking into her dismount is not cutting it at all.
14:05 Saying “we both know that once you stop you can’t come back” while Chellsie is on beam is ironic, considering her comeback 2 quads later. Chellsie is so amazing
I love how Tim acted like that was a perfect beam routine from Nastia and never even mentioned that her switch ring leap wasn't even close.
It's was good to see that Rebecca Bross came back to compete. Especially after her knee injury at day 2 of the 2011 Visa Championships. But only to do two routine, and not all four. It seems if she was unable Vault again since her knee injury, and Floor Exercise too.
Why did Nastia Liukin only need to touch bar instead of finishing her routine??? That was so cool!!!
Well, all those breaks here are when they're playing commercials on tv :)
Another random comment: Chellsie has gotten so pretty! She was never ugly, but it's striking how lovely her face has become. So sad she didn't make it to the Olympic team, one of my faves.
McKayla's BB routine was GORGEOUS.
when kyla does beam and sticks her landing i can hear mckayla screaming XD
yeah I think so too, but it looks pretty funny cause everyone is smiling except her :D
Rebecca Bross should get a new dismount for her Balance Beam routine. Every time she just isn't able to do it
After this Classic, your heart goes out to Memmel, poor girl, falls two times on the beam, my heart just goes
Well.. she’s coming back. Idc what anyone says but I’m predicting she’s gonna come away with a beam medal at worlds 2021. Maybe even gold
She's also been consistent
If Gabby and Sarah make the team I'll be the happiest person in the world
It is a tragedy to not have 6 members on the Olympic team. We should not have to put Wieber up in Team Finals on bars instead of Bross.
Wow, this was my first time seeing Sarah Finnegan--very impressive! Love her toepoint--she reminds me of Lilia Podkopayeva.
Thank you so so much for uploading this!!! Way to go Aly!!
I love the fact that that Nastia & Chellsie Memmel are back! :))
I'm curious as to why the heck didn't they mention that Nastia most likely didn't get the switch-half-to-onodi because she cut the leap short. At about 57:06, Tim Daggett said "Maloney" instead of "Maroney!"
agwebkinz010 I noticed that too
you rock for posting this! we all really appreciate it! have a great day! thanks!
ugh thank god someone feels the same way cause EVERY time and i mean every freaking time aly goes up they somehow bring up alicia and it pisses me of aly is a double gold medalist while alicia has a silver medal that she probaly doesnt even deserve js

Aly Raisman has improved by leaps and bounds. I'm really happy she won and I hope she can produce great results in London.
shawn retired sunday, june 3. this competition was the weekend of may 26.
Poor Chellsie Memmel. She fell of the beam right off the bat!
Secret? Guess the cat's out of the bag now! LOL
YES YES YES!!!!!! Thank you so much that is so true, Alica blew the team final in 08. which has a bigger deduction, falling off the beam or touching the beam?
I know I'm a little late but touching the beam is 0.5 deduction whereas falling off is a 1.0 deduction, so by touching the beam and not coming off you save 0.5 :)
Thank you so much for posting! All us not in America are really greatful :)
am I the only one wondering what's up with Nastia's hair? it's a mess! but I love the fact that she's back :)
So glad Nastia is competing again. I've missed watching her perform.
i feel so bad for chelsea! ive watched since i was a little girl
they might as well cancel team finals if it's any less than 5! personally i liked the 7 per team formal, i thought that was a fantastic way to enjoy as much gymnastics as possible and there was slightly less pressure on the athletes too. i guess liukin is waiting until the last minute to build momentum, she is the queen of PR! ;) i can't wait to see her work bars, i hope she has the same fluency and amplitude she used to!

It's so funny how they talk and we can hear them, even though it isn't supposed to.

It's like everyone was having a bad day..
OMG thank you so much for posting this!
It really depends on her knee. From what I read in recent articles, her knee is still giving her a lot of problems.
this is the raw feed, the one on tv had commercials. i like this version with the warms up and stuff
Yay! Rebecca´s back!
God something about the liukins rubs me the wrong way.
PLEASE UPLOAD OLYMPIC TRIALS DAY 1 AND 2!!!!!!!
absolutely! mitchell also has that "oh i'm a world champ now, i can whatever i want and call it choreography" attitude, yuck. as for moors, i am with you she is incredible!! the elegance, the toe point, the gorgeous lines, the tumble... and the music! now that peng peng lee is out - :( - moors will be my favorite canadian in london this summer!

thank you that you posted this!:D
Amanda Jetter, wow. It was a little bit scattered but, that was good.
beautiful video
I love the warmup footage too but what I don't want to hear is them chitchatting and not knowing if they are on the air or not :)
amanda's constant head nodding while tim is speaking stands for "shut the hell up and get on with the question!!" LOL!!!
I wish I could be the one to tell Gabby Douglas that she was going to win the gold medal in all around and team awards.
Memmel sticks the landing on her beam, but those two falls and the balance checks that were littered in her routine still haunt her
(Though yes not as nice) Douglas can also do huge skills on vault like Maroney, such as the Amanar. She can score fairly well on floor, and as you said is great on bars. Thing is, Maroney also has a history of cracking as well...AND she isn't as well rounded in her repertoire as Douglas. THAT is what's going to hurt Maroney's chances. awwww im gonna miss her, she was my favourite gymnast of all time. but now i have to switch to nastia luikin in power gymnastics
Watching Chellsie compete is still insanely hard here. My heart breaks for her
Its like she was trying to stick the landing, forcing her chest down to her knees, which is a 1-2/10 deduction, she probably should have over rotated it instead, and just taken the step forward.
OMG THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING!!
I really liked Sarah's floor. She has so much potential.
THANK You very much. You are the 1st person (or are you? ;) ) to upload events like these, and I also like it so much because it is only one video.
I didn't see Rebecca Bross doubt her landings at all on balance beam! Considering it's her first competition (I think) since her injury last year, I think it was very good and deserved a little more credit than what the commentators gave her.

Nastia's uneven bar routine = FLAWLESS
She does need to improve on that, I agree. But she's cleaned up her floor routines and her landings are much cleaner and she didn't fall off the bars. If she works on her extensions, she will be fantastic.
thank you for posting this!
She announced her retirement last Sunday. Chellsie Memmel also announced her retirement last week. I can't believe it either!
aww thats such a shame. I rmbr watching her back in 03-04 and thinking she was bound to go places and then injury after inujry... life just isnt fair some times :(
so mad that you saw this before me Johnny. Love you miss you.
I only find 7 and 8 years ago🤠
I love it when they don't have Al, so Tim has to up his commenting. Make it extra loud. ahahaha so funny.
Thanks so much for uploading :)
i hate how whenever aly raisman goes up at any competition the commenters always talk about alicia, alicia this alicia that like stop aly is waaaay more succesfull than her.
3:41 “before this woman” shows a coaches butt before he eventually moves lol
When you win the AA at the olympics you are considered the queen of gymnastics. So technically Nastia is the queen.
Thxs a lot 4 postin'!! \o/
al fong's gloves get me every time.
Finnegan's bar routine was nearly flawless, except she had her chest nearly touching her knees on the landing, but otherwise it was a very good, flawless routine, and she rocked it!
Nastia is fantastic gymnatics
2:38 beginging 7:39 bars 9:17 beam 12:45 beam 15:20 floor 17:38 bars 21:55 vault 24:12 bars 26:14 beam 29:10 floor 35:15 beam all i got so far too lazy to watch whole thing... like if helped :)
Ok, someone explain things to me. Tim said that this is the first major competition towards the olympics. I know that others are the american cup and visa nationals. What are the others and how do people get qualified for the events? And how do they ultimately get selected to go to trials?
@fernando iglesias - It's a remixed version of "Hava Nagila."
Vault: Maroney, Douglas, Wieber
Bars: Douglas, Ross, Wieber
Beam: Raisman, Ross, Wieber
Floor: Raisman, Douglas, Wieber
Alternates: Finnegan, Vega, Li, Sacramone
I would think Kyla, she's a good all-arounder, and more importantly, she's putting up good bars scores. I do wish Nastia could come back though:( Also, I hope Kyla and Sarah can stay in top form for four more years so they can compete in 2016.
Oh thank you for the correction! :) Shannon miller is my hands down favorite tho lol
I was wondering if it was my connection to the net. But yes, there is a huge gap where there isn't any commentary, then WHAM it's on overload.
Broadcast starts at 2:40
do you have olympic trials!!! i srsly want to watch it!
Awesome beautiful
Omg dammmm girl ur so beautiful young ladies
I didn't think that she even had that high of a start value.
I'm surprised at her age that she would even be doing the all around.
estou plgado no youtube sempre!, Nynnochineider
I think the team will be Jordyn, Mckayla, Aly, Gabby, and I don't know about the las one. Probably between Kyla, Sarah, or Alicia.
ah nice to know, will see her at visas?
With Jordyns 14's on bars, Douglas is the American's only chance at an AA medal
