In this video, Iaconelli is sharing how to catch bass with a finesse technique called "snapping a tube". You can use this tactic for catching smallmouth, but it's also great for largemouth and spotted bass. How do you catch bass when they're not hungry? This finesse technique looks so natural, it will create reaction strikes that stroking a jig might not elicit, particularly in clear water, or pressured fishing situations.

Been using tubes "gitzit" here in the north west since the early 80's, northern California, Oregon and Washington. They do catch fish

I go to the local big name pharmacy and buy a box of 100 pairs of soft foam ear plugs, which i then take home and soak in a scent attractant Then i insert the scent soaked soft foam ear plug into the center of the tube and Texas right the tube which wil cause the tube to want to float up off the bottom . I am Killing'em finesse fishing bank lines, and it is deathly on a Carolina rig... I am a tube convert and i am sure you wil be too... Good Fishing Dude..

I like that,thinking out of the box.We stuff a chunk of Alka Seltzer in the tube and the bubbles drive bass crazy.

True, however the tube is known as a bait to be thrown against even highly pressured lakes. If you cant catch on a tube you cant catch period

Is this technique good to fish on a baitcasting rod too if its a heavy enough tube jig or mostly spinning gear?
Since it's primarily a clearer-water technique, Mike prefers spinning tackle with lighter fluro or braid to fluoro line.

Specks-n-Spoons404 Yeah,, whatever---- he talks endlessly and likes having 14 year old fits when a fish gets away or he gets snagged, he enjoys screaming and going nuts when he catches a 2 lb. fish in a tournament, he breaks poles or throws them in the water when pissed--- he embodies all that's Wrong with tournament fishing and of course advertisers love him------- he's the worst sort of role model for kids.
He is the best fisherman in his age group.Yeah he gets mad,(hell I get mad when I lose a fish big or small.)he's not out there for the scenery.I been following him for many years and he developed himself as one of the top 25 of all time.I would fish with him any day of the week.

Up here in NY its one of the best ways to catch bass in pressured lakes. Can hook up a walleye or pike depending on the time of year too.

@@caverunbassmaster7659 I believe Joe Watson is quoting a tube technique from a Bill Dance show. The ear plug makes the tube lighter so it rises with each pull, jerk etc. It is Texas rigged. We use the same with Carolina rig. Good News, Bad News. If it works, it works. If it does not work, quit and try something different.
