What a tribute!!To one of real country music greatest personalities. There will never be someone who can replace him. Johnny Cash - you are no longer here. But your music will last forever.
Simply the best. I first heard JC about the same time as Rodney, and his voice had the same effect -- I've loved his music (and the gifted, wonderful songwriting of Rodney) ever since. Magic!
Great tribute to a great artist. I loved it when I saw the video the first time. What better way to show respect than a direct, emotional response to a moment that really focused your musical journey. Thanks for posting it.
Great video! I have seen Rodney do this live and it was a fine show. It is truly amazing to see the love and respect that most of John's ex sons-in-law gave him, especially Rodney Crowell and Marty Stuart.
This song is from Rodney's album titled 'The Houston Kid', it was released in 2001. Rodney was married to Johnny's oldest daughter, Roseanne for 13 years, they had three daughters. Johnny passed away in 2003. Great video!
Rodney pulls off this track perfect. Many thanks for hosting it. There are very very people who can cover a J.R Cash track and make it work, but Crowell can. Imagine how good it would look if they edited them both on stage at the same time! Good work Bruno.
Rockabillykid01.If you are seriously into Johnny Cashs music likeme, this song is on the legend cd.Cds 1-3 are John on his own and cd4 is John with family and friends. There are 104 songs on the cd.
Yes, Rodney was married to Roseanne Cash,, they had 2 beautiful daughters.. I just finished reading his biography "Chinaberry Sidewalk".. Excellent book, find it, read it & you shall see..
You can hear on JR's voice that he is an old man when he sings here, so the recording of the song was made when he was still alive. But was the video made after his death, since there is only pictures of him from his younger days?
Good video & song by One Legend & one who should be A Legend,John proved Nashville & Columbia Records wrong by recording some of his best material after Columbia dumped him, Such as Hurt Thanks
This could be Rodney's greatest song. At least it is his most interesting. The Houston Kid album is the nuts. I have seen him since he was a teenager at Sand Mountain on Richmond Ave. in Houston. The old croud there was Jerry Jeff, Guy Clark and Towns VanZandt. Not a bad place for writers. Also Mickey Newbury and Jimmy Buffet would drop by.

Simply awesome two great singers who sang their souls

I've seen the Mona Lisa, I've heard Shakespeare read real fine ... just like hearing Johnny Cash sing I Walk the Line.
Fascinating. Just popped up on Pandora. Id never heard it before.
I did. Johnny wrote this for Roseanne's mother, Vivian. My brain skipped a beat there. :)
Rodney pulls off this track perfect.

If you have seen Rodney live, then you may have seen Will Kimbrough channeling Johnny.
The most amazing thing is that Rodney got JRC to recut "I Walk The Line" with a different melody.
Yep, awesome!
this is a very great song!!!! :D:D:D
Outstanding !!!
Thanks for the post :)
great job on this
Trey Landry on drums, Michael Rhodes on bass, Pat Buchanan on lead. Might be Brady Seals on keyboard, but I'm not sure on that one.

It was recorded in 2001 - two years before he died.

Please! Could someone put the lyrics on Utube?
BTW, who's the guitar man? I was expecting to see Steuart Smith

If you get a chance listen to Eleanor McEvoy's version of Rodney's 'Shame on the Moon' It's on her new album 'Love Must Be Tough' - it's really great!
Someone knows on what Cash album this is on?
Johnny wrote this song for his former wife, Vivian, who was Rodney's former wife, Roseann.
Was this video made after Johnny Cash' death?
What”s the keyboard player for?
Rodney Crowell was married to Roseanne Cash for a time..
Twelfth doctor.
you have no idea its called american culture.
