John Hartford was a great American musician and songwriter. It was fortunate that Glen found this song and allowed John to have such a prolific and successful career. And it's always a treat to see the next generation appreciate these classics.
John Hartford (wrote this song) once said that as nice as it was to have professional peers applaud his music and ask permission to record it themselves, the greatest compliment came in the form of someone in the public (I seem to recall his example was of sitting in a restaurant and a busboy walked past his table) humming one of his songs; out of key or missing some of words. I heard him say that probably more than 45 years ago and I always smile when I hear someone humming a song, out of key, maybe missing some of the words. Those moments remind me of John, one of my generation’s great song writers.
The Band Perry does country a great service with their authentic traditional yet modern spiced country music. This is a terrific version of "Gentle On My Mind."
FFS wrong person singing; this is a man's song if the words mean anything, she sing about her beard. The beauty of this song is in the meaning of the words, sung by a female the word make no sense, all is left is the twang.
@marcellogenesi6390 I think that anyone who has a passion for music can listen to lyrics and listen to them and hear them for what they are saying and what they mean. IF you have that ability it doesn't matter if a lioness is singing it. You either get that or you don't.
Dear Humans, nothing is more gentle than listening to songs that inspire kindness, love, friendships and hope, except your family... Love, the reason to keep on singing. Thank you Band Perry.
Believe it or not, this brings me back to my childhood in the UK, when I would see and hear my mam and dad singing this to each other, and dancing like nobody was watching, but us kids were. Lovely.

I don't know how much involvement the producer had or even who they are, but the net result here is magic. Job well done! Many thanks to all of you who chose to bear your souls and sing this song from your hearts - just as it deserves to be done. PS, you guys really didn't need the prologue with the parallel video of the pretty couple, the performance and locations would have been just fine, you're plenty pretty all on your own. Still no harm done. Thank you.
One of the best I've seen, and I keep coming back to watch it over and over. Thanks TBP.
Just plain makes me feel good to hear this again. You've done John Hartford and Glen Campbell proud.
Thank you so much for doing this song the credit it deserves, and staying true to Glen Campbel. Loved his music.
She kills it Glenn should be very 👏 proud
Hello Mary, how are you doing? Hope you're having a nice time over there?
These kids really are so talented. I've enjoyed their music so much.
It's nice to see the younger generation keeping this wonderful song alive.

When I hear this song, my heart pumbs with joy. I was on my desk at work and I just googled Xl-96.9, my favorite chanel and bam, I ran into this beautiful gentle song that makes me happy. Life is what you make and unhappiness and happiness is upto you, dear Humans.
-I'm tired of Human stupidity and our human hatred. Please, be kind, be you and always respect those around you.
I normally would never sanction tampering with such a classic song, but this girl absolutely nails that song. Love her.
Beautiful rendition!
She sure nailed it!!!
The driving banjo helps to keep it close to the John Hartford original. Her voice is good though.
She is absolutely atrocious.
I'd nail her too.
I have been all over the world. this song tells my life, It will be played on my funeral. And I will love it from above.
We'll miss you, Glen. May you ever be gentle on our minds.
Anyone singing this song with increased tempo has Glen to thank.
Thank you Glen for your music and for this song. We won't miss you because we already do. May you forever be gentle on our minds.

Great song. Great version of a great song. Wow....That's how I feel every time I listen to this. Endorphins flow throughout.... I can feel myself walking along a stream with sun shining softly........ Thanks for recording this classic. : )
One of those songs that paints pictures with its words. Absolute Masterpiece! 👍👍
The cinematography really lifts the song, and vice versa. And I agree, tremendous cover.
Banjos, fiddles and steel guitars are like angel melodies to my ears.
A song so fascinating and beautiful. How many wonderful songs like these exist on youtube? I glad I listened to Glen Campbell songs.
Excellent
One of the best covers ive ever listened to. Fantastic!!

Well done , this poem is a thought out of the 30’s, thanks
Something about her voice always gives me chills.
same, but it's also their playing and the guys backing vocals! It all blends beautifully together!
Glen Travis Campbell (April 22, 1936 - August 8, 2017) Godspeed to a true County/Pop music legend
It was written by this other legend called John Hartford.
Not to mention one of the finest guitar pickers ever.
More "country" stations need to be playing this song! A timeless tune done right by a band that still respects the real sound.
It has been so joyful to hear and see the progress of her musical journey !
I still think no matter who performs this song, its the greatest written song of all time
Why do you say that
All praise in the world to a fantastic musician, Glen Campbell...but this is hands down the best version of this song (in my opinion of course), which itself is a shining example of songwriting mastery. Addictive!. Listened to it several times a day since it first showed up in my FB feed...
One of the greatest songs ever written. Nice work, you guys.
They didn't write it. Just in case you didn't know.
Being this is May Mental health month, this song reminds of my girlfriend that love me more than life itself..
She was always gentle on my mind.. Happy Mother's day in heaven, now you are pain free babes. Thank you for a beautiful song..
So glad I found this. What an amazing cover! A bit more lively but still has that sad undertone
I was not expecting it to be this good, but it was. VERY good cover.
WillyTheComposer I honestly say it isn't good, it's brilliant
