Major respect to these brave ladies who paved the way for so many. As a registered nurse for nearly a decade, I am dismayed at the atrocities committed by a profession that is supposed to be dedicated to caring and compassion. While we have come a long way, there is still so much work to be done. Though this statement is just a drop in the bucket, I'll declare that any BIPOC nurse I work with should know they have my support. You belong here, you are worthy and the profession and your patients need you. Thank you for being here and for being you.
It’s so frustrating dealing with racism in my nursing program, it’s so unfair and unconstitutional to deal with this in this day and age! As hurtful as this is, you all are my motivation. Knowing that someone else went through this and made it is the courage I needed to keep going. Thank you. You all are beautiful, bright, fearless warriors and there’s nothing we did wrong
Esther McCready, my great Aunt transitioned to be with the Lord yesterday September 2, 2020. I hope her strength and courage continues to inspire you all 🙏🏽❤️
Wow, this is breathe taking. I am a AA nurse student and watching this brings tears to my eyes. I had experience racism in my nursing program and can totally relate to these women to a certain extent. I was the only AA attending a hispanic/asian nursing program. I was under stress as well and even told my Dean as well. It taught me a lot about life for the better. I am saving this video to my favorites. These women are remarkable :)
I am currently applying to UMSON and it is so uplifting and encouraging to hear stories of people who overcame so much. I can't even imagine having to deal with constant racism, bigotry and discrimination. As a future nurse, these women are my icons!
Not just amazing.Remarkable and divine.." Not by the color of our skin..But the content of our character" and they showed character and heart. Wonderful women indeed!
