I have made 7up pound cake. I use 2 sticks of butter and 1/2 crisco shortening. Please wait about 20 minutes before turning it out. If it is coll to touch, it may not stick. We work too hard with out cake to have it stick to the pan. I don't spray my pan until I am ready to pour my batter. I use a natural bristle brush to paint the Baker's joy in and around my pan. I enjoy your channel.

I can tell it came out right by the way it looks and you can’t go wrong with Divas can cook recipes . I never fail with her Italian cream cake and I also add my secret flavoring to it.
I don't use baking soda. I've never had one to stick until this afternoon. It was just a little bit on the bottom of my pan. I always use Bakers Joy spray. Next time, I'll cut me a wax paper or parchment ring to put in the bottom.

I know this is an old video and I have watched it before but I wanted you to know that that cake was beautiful! It takes an experienced baker to correct a small mishap as that beautiful cake already was and make it even more prettier! Sure taught me something!!!

I've learned that if I cool the cake in the pan for about 6-10 minutes then invert it onto a cooling rack to cool completely, it doesn't stick. I've made 7up cakes and I was told by a cake baker that it's the soda that causes it to stick too.
Hello! I love your videos. I bake this cake every week; but I have never tried whipping cream. Also in that cast iron cake pan I wait 25 min turn because of the soda. Also, when you place a hot towel at the button it will release the cake to perfection. I did that German Chocolate cake it was great.
It's one of the first pound cakes I think I ever made and I've been baking cakes for over 50 years. I made one a little while ago. It's still warm on the counter. I didn't have 7-up so I used Sprite. I have used Mountain Dew. It's a wonderful, wonderful cake. I use the lemon zest from a whole lemon, the juice of half a lemon and lemon extract. Almond extract will take over. But, it's what you like. I don't use baking soda or powder. I use my paddle attachment, it doesn't seem to work any batters too much but it's all your preference.
I thank you and many like you that take your time to teach us how to make this cake and all the other wonderful things you make. I made this copying you, however, I need to practice it. I believe I mix to long cause the fluffyness makes the pan over full and it over flows in the oven. But it still taste good 👍 😊

Teresa... I've learned the hard way, when baking 7up cake... Greasing and flour your best option... the 7 up causes it to stick! Certain cakes I use old school method... Butter or crisco and flour...

And eventually my mom was so mad at me n the Japanese maid MECHE that she let her go .. and she hired Miss Margaret who took home our black bananas every week. Lol.. You explained the "salted " vs "unsalted" butter. What is your opinion on "Swan down cake" flour? Do you use that or just stick with "all-purpse" flour? Thank you!❤

You’re right! It seems the longer you let it cool, the more chance it will stick - for me at least! I only do about 5-10 as well!

And I'm talking Big Big names in this mess. So just know 7 big 12 foot angels came to my house. Jesus is watching and I am their Midis.. their all playing games except for you..sweet lady. You had to have a grandmother as sweet as Ella too
You explained the "salted " vs "unsalted" butter. What is your opinion on "Swan down cake" flour? Do you use that or just stick with "all-purpse" flour? Thank you!❤

Hello🥰 we are in Georgia. These may just southern brands. The main thing is to use quality ingredients. These products are all I’ve known and used. If my husband and moved anywhere that doesn’t have them I would have to order them from Amazon 😁 but that’s me. Happy baking ❤️

Next time put a damp towel over the bottom of the pan for about 5 minutes before you put it on the plate. No sticking every time.
