If you reduce the sugar, you would have to alter the whole recipe. Try it without the glaze to reduce the sweetness. This cake is so good, it really doesn't need the glaze anyway.

Charlie Andrews thank you for showing us step by step on how to make a 7UP cake. I made this cake 12/31/2020 and it was so good. I always have problems making a cake. Thank you for your video it helped and my hubby enjoyed every bite of this cake.
This 7up cake is true to the original recipe -- no milk or baking powder (though I admit, I cheat by using half-teaspoon of baking powder). There's a certain 'crust' that you get with this recipe, that I don't see in others that's make with a quarter cup of heavy cream. I haven't made a 7up cake in almost 15 years, so I'm excited to see the finish product. I like your videos. They are so peaceful, and your food looks like it was baked with love ❤.

Charlie I made the 7 up poundcake for Thanksgiving, it taste really good, but i had a problem getting it out of the cake pan lol! I sprayed canoli oil in it, I eventually got it out, but some pieces were missing lol my husband and son didn't have a problem eating it ! My next one will be better i had an old bundt pan too im gonna upgrade. Also, I love your mixer so i showed the husband and he got me a new one off amazon with a paddle, i had an old 2 beater mixer. You have encouraged me to bake, thank you so much for your videos.

My grandson followed it to the very end and the cake was delicious and moist and we couldn't believe how wonderful the icing was and he also made your red velvet cake, he was upset because his brother ate the last piece. Charlie Andrews i tried this and my friends dont believe they like the taste but for me it is too sweet can i reduce the sugar?
If you reduce the sugar, you would have to alter the whole recipe. Try it without the glaze to reduce the sweetness. This cake is so good, it really doesn't need the glaze anyway.
Yes you can reduce the sugar but I have to agree with Christina It will change the recipe! Try it without the glaze and see if you like it!

This 7up cake is true to the original recipe -- no milk or baking powder (though I admit, I cheat by using half-teaspoon of baking powder). There's a certain 'crust' that you get with this recipe, that I don't see in others that's make with a quarter cup of heavy cream. I haven't made a 7up cake in almost 15 years, so I'm excited to see the finish product. I like your videos. They are so peaceful, and your food looks like it was baked with love ❤.

Charlie I made the 7 up poundcake for Thanksgiving, it taste really good, but i had a problem getting it out of the cake pan lol! I sprayed canoli oil in it, I eventually got it out, but some pieces were missing lol my husband and son didn't have a problem eating it ! My next one will be better i had an old bundt pan too im gonna upgrade. Also, I love your mixer so i showed the husband and he got me a new one off amazon with a paddle, i had an old 2 beater mixer. You have encouraged me to bake, thank you so much for your videos.

Ivy Moore I made a recipe from taste of home called chocolate sweet potato bundt cake if your interested I greased and floured my pan with baking cocoa and sifted powder on top it was delicious
