you just need to sell fakes or overprice for items like regimentals...
or just get left the business by your old man
Regimentals was a great shop when in Essex Road under the direction of Malcolm and Sid. I feel Daniel is more suited to star wars models where his true passion sits!
This is just my opinion. If a punter was to email a dealer and tell them that one of their items they are selling is not real /fake/ fantasy then take notice of them and do some research and delete that item rather than ignore them altogether and keep the fake item on sale. Regimentals are good at that..
Lesson no 7 - fake double decal SS helmet being punted on the video and Regimentals web site. Pulls it from sale, pulls it from TH-cam with no explanation.
Thankyou for taking the time to do this Daniel i enjoyed it. I Collect cased combat awards and headgear, I have recently come into quite a bit of money and i am thinking of doing it as a side hussle! Cheers ,Ross (Reading)😮
Whilst your point about the unmarked blade on ss chained is valid. As Tom Wittman has shown and pointed out on numerous occasions, officers would upgrade their original dagger, buying a chained scabbard. So a marked blade on a chained ss is not necessarily a fake.
WOW, this is a tough crowd below. Personally I enjoy Dan’s videos. Does a fake get past the goalie once in a while? I am sure it does for most dealers. This is a tough hobby. I just heard Wittmann say that you can’t be an expert in every field.

I do feel the way the prices are going up in Milateria is getting a bit ridiculous now to be honest, I’m a fairly new collector and have been collecting for about 3 years and in that time I have noticed the price difference , I’m not sure how far this hobby will last as in the end the prices have gone so high that it’s starting to put the average collector from buying things , and how will the next generation below start with the price hikes , especially on helmets and caps and dealers will price themselfs out of the market
Militaria, like any collectibles market, is entirely driven by demand, not supply. No seller is obligated to sell you an item at a price that you would like to pay.
@@jeffschnakenberg3848 true , but some sellers are greedy , I understand how things are rare , but how do the younger generation afford to buy things , helmets have gone from £1k to now 18k on some websites for standard single deco , 4k for mp40 , 15k for ss cap ? Just stupid prices , once that person who’s buying them at that price stops or passes away , no one else can afford to pay those prices
it's driven by the likes of Regimentals which continue to push up prices. If people didn't buy , the prices would quickly come down. My last single decal SS helmet I bought from Malcolm was £250 - now they are well over £5000 . They have 'always' been scarce , so it's the big dealers pushing up the prices. Thank god I started collecting back in the 70's. Prices were more realistic and the source of original items was much better. Daniel is all about the £ , I don't think he has a real passion for this stuff. As I understand , his old business failed so took over from his old man . Nice work if you can get it!
@@nicensleazy1892 yea I agree , yes I noticed in one of his videos he said the prices have to come up on helmets ? Just think if they lowered the price a bit he would sell more stuff , I’m just a working man with a wife , children , mortgage to pay so are always out of my price range , but I started about 4 years ago , and was given my Hitler knife by my granddad who brought it back after the war , when I was a kid , thanks for comments , happy collecting 👍
@@MyPhilw enjoy and do what you can . Please do not be suckered in by Daniel at Regimentals. Enjoy the hobby my friend
Hi when iam selling at my local flea market should I group items or sell individually ie. a couple of tank badges also what do you think should be a good profit margin? Or just try for the going rate? 30% 50% ect. Thanks John k
Selling at a flea market or car boot the worst thing you can do is price at dealer prices or say to a buyer "on ebay they sell for this much"....aim to sell it for more than you bought it for, I have bought things for 50p and sold for a pound...profit......I have bought things for 15 pounds and doubled the price ...worst thing you can do is try to get dealer prices...if you take a stall at a militaria fair, sell your item cheaper than others are offering their identical pieces for.....yours will sell before theirs.sell items singly...apart from medals...medals should never be split and sold individually.
@@historicmilitaria1944 thank you
nice to know but question i got if anyone can help where can i find out where the militaria shows are in the uk i mostly buy iron crosses or related to the iron cross family,a frind of mind who not with us sadly used to sell and buy miliatria and told me about regimentals, and he told me to just stick collecting as you get to know about it just by looks and the feel
Internet Google
Your two big ones in the UK are Stoneliegh and Malvern, which you should find if you look them up. There are others as well of course, particularly shows like military odyssey, victory show, northern arms fairs etc. You’ve also got Ciney in Belgium which is the BIG one in Europe, and handily placed for a day trip to Waterloo as well. Hope this helps!
Website northern arms fairs....the site usually lists most of the militaria shows in the uk
Once again excellent video
Nice video Dan
Mmm this doesn’t come over very well Daniel
The most condescending thing I think I’ve ever seen , couldn’t make it to the end , if you had to actually work in the real world
Don't listen to this man. He engages in practices that actively worsen the hobby for his own gain, including splitting groupings, overpricing items, and selling fakes.
