I think the Four Roses SBs have some of the most variation, but all good. I’ve been sipping on two lately, one is @ 11yrs from the distillery selected by the master distiller, the other is a local pick @ 8yrs. The 11yr has way more spice and the 8yr is super sweet, both have very rich flavor. The Knob Creek picks on the other hand, are all generally in the same ballpark of flavor, some slightly better than others.
Looks like someone had a really great evening! I got around to blinding the recipes from the 4R Tasting set. And Os and Fs came out on top with Ks in the mix. And i seem to not enjoy the Qs. But it's still fun to sip on these single barrels no matter the recipes. Cheers!
@@lesscashmoremash one thing you may notice about Four Roses is that next to say a Russell's or Old Forester single barrel, it often gets lost in the mix. Big flavored bourbons tend to bully the more subtle notes of a Four Roses. Will be interesting when you set up those blinds and see how they fare.
@@thomasanderson2870 I hope I get to compare that one day…. I was excited a while back when I finally found a Russsels 13 on a back shelf…. Until I asked how much it was and they told me $1000….. haven’t seen a 15 yet in the wild…
Now that’s a Sunday Funday. Well I caved in and got OESK 10 year store pick for $120. Store owner wouldn’t budge. Maybe do this Four way dance at the end of the year to see if the winner or flavors changed?
@@GLENBECKHAM I did hear that….Hoping some store closer to us start doing more store pick… none of these were near us… but I know what to look for now….
I like the higher rye expressions of those, but ALL are awesome bottles, people are sleeping on these and paying alot more for lesser brands. Well, in my opinion anyway. Enjoy friends 👍😉🥃
@@thomasanderson2870 I totally agree… I never knew how good these are…there weren’t any close by to me so I never had them…. Now that I have had them I am trying to find all I can..
Hi guys it’s me again. just wanted to let you guys know that Luke’s liquor in Rockland, Ma has a four roses store pick. 11 years and 4 months old for $99.00. Sorry I forgot what the recipe was. But I’d thought I’d let you know.
Nice Review~! i had 3 of these but never anything left to compare ;)

I think the 2 best you guys picked are actually on the same level of the Russell's 15 that everyone is swooning about and costs $250-350 a bottle 🤔👍
