It's just too bad we play OU in '25 and '26 and have to wait until '27 to see the Maize and Blue in Austin.
    @16:20 Also, I can assure you, Michigan will be throwing all sorts of stunts and delayed blitzes along the interior of the Texas OL; at least if Wink calls this defense anything like Minter did last year.

      Track speed and football speed are two different athletes and is an overrated measurement. They’re basically saying if you’re from Texas, you’re automatically faster than anyone in the north, regardless that universities have athletes from all over the country. That’s like saying intelligence is only a northern trait, because the location of the Ivy League. Straight ahead speed is a nice luxury but a lower indicator in the overall football skill set (see all-time 40s at the combine). That said, these men might be the best non-pro college football analysts on YT.

    First show I’ve seen on YT that talks about the experience this new line actually has…them boys played most of the 4th and half the third quarter all the way to that Penn State game. Both lines got subbed in for three years now, this is undervalued. Ditto the kicker they got- they won’t blow teams out on offense and bro is going to be getting a lot of FG ops, which coupled with their time management & stingy D(no Diddy), all their games gonna be tight. This is going to be an exciting game, can go either way. Take the under and the points.

    Michigan's defense will be dominant like last year. Our OL will gel and open up holes for Donovan Edwards who is elite. We have Jack Tuttle at QB who played behind Penix Jr. and McCarthy. He is going to shine this year in his last season and will be able to complete passes downfield and run. Texas doesn't have a great defense as evidenced by the playoff appearance against Washington. Michigan is going to be trouble for Texas - especially in the Big House.

    Really impressive analysis by these guys. I'll have to check them out later in the year to see if they are this detailed for every team UT plays. Michigan likes to have a package of a few plays for the backup QB and mix him in when the time is right. Most likely, Orji will be the starter with Warren or Denegal coming in for a few snaps during the game. This game would be even more interesting if it was played in Austin as originally scheduled.

    Colston Loveland will be a top draft pick. Not only does he play with his hand in the dirt, but he often lines up out wide with the depth they have at tight end. I believe half of his TD's last season were from plays where he lined up out wide. At any rate, he is the best in the country at what he does. Marline Klein will be his top backup and the word is that he is one of the fastest players on the team.
    Tyler Morris will be a breakout player at receiver this year too. He had four starts last year and Michigan wouldn't have beaten 'Bama without him outrunning the entire Crimson Tide defense for a TD in the first half. He should be in contention for All Big Ten honors.
    Donovan Edwards also has over 60 catches on his resume. He too is one of the best in the country at what he does.
    Those are the top three receivers on the Michigan offense that will often start two tight ends and fullback, but they are all dangerous.
    The Frederick Moore, Semaj Morgan, Amorion Walker, Peyton O'Leary, and CJ Henderson combo will provide plenty of juice off the bench. Kalel Mullings isn't a bad receiver himself.

    I dont know where some of these MI fans on here get the idea they shut down Ohio State's passing game these past 3 years. In '21 Jaxon Smith-Njigba had 127 yds receiving, Garrett Wilson 119 and Chris Olave 88. In '22 Emeka Egbuka caught 125 yards and Marvin Harrison Jr 120. In those 2 games Stroud went for 743 yds at 67% with 4 TDs/2INTs. Then last year Marv went for 118 while Julian Fleming caught 3 for 58, and it should have been much worse, but Kyle McCord kept failing to recognize wide open WRs (watch the all-22 film before blowing a gasket MI fans). Add to that, Marv's TD last year was off a crossing route, so there's goes that take. Quin Ewers is way better than McCord and MI lost a lot of XP at two key positions, nickel and safety. The passing game was never OSU's issue.

Also Michigan and Texas have kids from all over this country the speed argument is so stupid and was MAYBE relevant 20 years ago when kids would stay in state. Scheme is what matters , using your personal to thier strengths , playing to what you opponent gives you matters , strength conditioning matters , the athletes being individually motivated to practice without staff motivation matters , team cohesiveness matters. I'll take your speed ( if you actually have more of it ) and use it against you with a unit that works together.

    Michigan has and will continue to run the ball HOWEVER Michigan WILL play offense to what the defense gives them like the Penn State game where they ran 30 plus times because they had a hard time blocking the edge so they overloaded the line and pounded it right at them. If you play run heavy defense the will pass till you go zone and put in a lighter personal for the pass the over load the line and run again. The Michigan defense will be VERY elete and will have no problem putting 6,7,8 DB out there with a 3 or 4 man defense front. The defense is extremely flexible and will play to what you give them. You have a pass heavy personal group ( on offense and defense) you gonna struggle and IF the Michigan offense can figure out how to score your in big trouble.

    • @cfbpicks
      @cfbpicks 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not an argument but how much of it is really on the defense because other than K-State, OU and Washington no team scored over 30 much less 24 points on us. K-State was because of Malik Murphy almost giving the game away, OU I understand and Washington needs no explanation. We held more teams under double digits in one season than in 10 seasons past.

    • @cfbpicks
      @cfbpicks 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also to relate our passing defense was so poor because teams abandoned the run so early into games because of how ahead we were in majority games. So of course we gave up a lot of yardage but held up in points with the #3 red zone defense in the country

    • @iRacerJared
      @iRacerJared 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cfbpicks My comment is more geared towards now being in the SEC moving forward. Obviously Texas has the pedigree to do it but you cannot go in thinking what worked in the Big12 will work in the SEC. It’s more of a perception take then a by the numbers break down. Based on eye test Texas sometimes does the typical B12 thing and forgets to play D in the 4th.

    • @cfbpicks
      @cfbpicks 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@iRacerJared but to your point how many SEC teams can score like a Big 12 team with that kind of speed and balance on offense. In 2023 only 3 SEC teams scored above 35 points a game we only play 1 of those teams with the 2nd best offense we”ll play is A&M and rest being the bottom half on offense. And that’s for 2024 season so while yes it’ll be an adjustment the offenses depending on who you play won’t be as dynamic like some Big 12 teams

      @@cfbpicks But is that inflated because of how bad B12 D’s are? The SEC usually field’s big fast D’s that’s why you don’t see the inflated numbers like in the Big12 and PAC10 I am just nervous for Texas the last 3 Big teams that have left the B12 have ended up getting a train run on them. Texas cannot become the next Nebraska the brand and history is too important.
      I picked Texas to win the Natty this year but the D makes me nervous especially up the middle. Again this is just me watching film and giving a take. I don’t know Texas like I know Michigan.

    Michgan should lose this game by a few points since we did lose almost twenty players, almost all the starters on offence including the top WR's ,RB , the whole o-line and QB also the kicker and a few key defensive players along with the defensive coaching staff.Texas is returning their QB ,not to mention they were also one of the four playoff teams and just as much could have been the national champion.That said Sherrone Moore (undefeated so far as HC)and Michigan are not going to roll over.
    Should be a Texas win as just returning the QB is a huge advantage ,not to mention all the rebuilding with the coaching staff and players.

      I have learned that Rod knows what he is talking about. One example was the Washington playoff game. He was nervous about our pass defense against their passing game and our odds of winning when most people were talking about how Texas was going to win easily.
