My anticipation for this game was through the roof. And playing it the moment it dropped evoked a feeling I hadn't felt since I was a kid playing the first AC when endless info on it wasn't easily accessible. But once you learn all it's nuances and what to expect, I couldn't help but feel this game left a lot to be desired. The early period of an animal crossing where your imagination can run wild is so special.
There's admittedly a lot of missing content from prior games, such as minigames, perfect fruit, shop upgrades, and special NPC visits from Blanca, Resetti, Gracie, etc. I'm willing to cut them some slack since I do think the pandemic delayed a lot of their internal plans for this game, but it's unfortunate that it does so many things well, but falls just a bit short by being a bit light on the social aspects of Animal Crossing.
And as someone who never owned a 3DS, I was pretty upset I didn't get to experience a lot of those highlights New Leaf had to offer in New Horizons. But you bet my hype levels are back up for what's next lol
4:58 I remember Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion getting its rating bumped for a similar glitch, so it’s interesting that Nintendo has a failsafe under the failsafe shirt to prevent that. New Horizons is by far my most played Animal Crossing game. Both it and Happy Home Paradise came out at the perfect time for me to dump 100s of hours into. I want to play a New Leaf save again, but not being able to put furniture outside is a deal breaker for me now.
They really put a lot of attention to detail in the visuals and sounds of this game to make it feel more modern and realistic; however, I do miss the more charming, abstract style of the original game, as this feels completely different with its style. Though, admittedly, I do love the evolution of fashion in this game as well as some of the furniture items. I just wish there was more furniture. In all fairness, I wouldn't know how much they added because I haven't played this game since May of 2020.
@9:16-Pretty sure this occurs on the dockable Switch only, not the Switch Lite 😢 Either way, this was a fun video, even with NH being one of the most covered games in terms of content, I actually learned a lot from this-great video as always!

Actually the nude player models were different depending on your settings. Nintendo secretly assigned genders to specific settings you choose. Likely to make it easier for the devs to understand and catagorize the more feminine faces
Might’ve been how it worked in the past, but I don’t think that’s still the case in the latest update unless I’m missing something? Both males and female style models have the same safe-guard texturing below their clothes it seems.
New Horizons was my first Animal Crossing game, have been playing it since release date with only one break, still on my first island and won't be ever starting a new one
So much about the game is just the best, but I do miss some things. Bed head boy version, other shades of blue hair, some old furniture like game consoles and such. It's very minor, but I hope it gets added back in the next game.

New horizans just feels like incomplete Slop compared to new leaf, sure you got new customization but the game is missing a lot features that was present in new leaf and older gam es. This ranges from store upgrades, missing bug, fish and sea creatures, furnature, villiger livelyness of cityfolks and ealier, mini games, acess to storage in other peoples towns and finally quick loading times.
