Will they bring. Hairspray back on broadway sometime what about by later this summer or fall it by next winter or spring also I love Nick Jonas and Corbin blue.
The film version was great and that’s when I was first introduced to this musical but the broadway version is definitely better. There are many versions on TH-cam if anyone wants to watch it. It’s so good.
The original idea of Tracy was that she is tuneless to music, and has a nasal voice, but no one cares about her voice or her weight, and they have fun, but it kinda changed in the 2007 movie, and in the Hairspray Live! But this is the original Tracy actress, Marissa Jaret Winokour, so she already knows what to do!
While Nick did well vocally, he's just not a very good dancer. Link should stand out when dancing, oozing charisma and sharp moves (Tveit was my favorite Link, damn that man is amazing). On the other hand, while Corbin is a good dancer, he can't sing well while dancing. Also, Corny Collins has no stage presence at all. His acting was just lacking. Harvey is absolutely the definitive Edna Turnblad. Him and Diana (also my favorite Penny lol) are the best parts of this show.
Angela m no its so bad that i feel that i need to share my opinion, who allowed this production to even take place??? its terrible idc if they have original actors or not this is pure shit
I really wish they hadn't cut out the Von Tussle part in the 2007 movie... its so cute and it completes the circle of bringing everyone together in the end
I think in the movie Amber hints at being accepting of integration when she smiles at one of the black teens, but not Velma. But that's one of the things I like from the musical.
Nah, they don’t deserve that 2 minute redemption after all they did. Amber, yeah I can see that (and in the movie she does start dancing with a black boy) but not Velma. It works for Broadway but not a movie.
He may not be a trained dancer but is obviously a natural-he starred on Broadway in “How to Succeed....” and danced as well as anyone in the production--look at him the “Brotherhood of Man” showstopper-he is great! 👍🏻🤩
i think it has to do with yeah he's not trained but alot of jonas brothers concerts when they were teenagers had them do flips and stuff so i am sure he is able to learn some dances if he has too but yeah nick is very good in this.
@@chwazkek Diana actually replaces an actor after Kerry but the reason they replace each other because the actor's contract might expire or they want to leave the show
Nick Jonas as link and Corbin bleu as seaweed!!! Even though I love Matthew Morrison as link and Zac Efron as him in the movie, Nick Jonas is cool too :p
As soon as I read this comment, I saw Todrick in the yellow jacket. Wow I didn’t know he was an extra. Would have loved if he actually got a solo though.
Reading these responses are cracking me up!!!! Do these people not realize that HAIRSPRAY has been on BROADWAY!! way way way long than any movie!!!! LOL how can they compare the 2?? This was an amazing performance.....sheesh.
@stephhlovexx Ever since we first saw the sun we Von Tussle girl's were always trying to please someone but now we're gonna shake and shimmy it and have some fun today! :)
@Igor Moretto That's Diana DeGarmo, if you really want to see her at her best in this role watch the Aaron Treveit version of the show that's on TH-cam. Besides the rest of that cast is amazing as well. This however hurt me to watch
Please don't compare a film to a live version. The different is the film version is edited and they get breaks in between all of this. These people don't get a break and if they do its usually for like 10 minutes during the intermission.
With my theatre group we are doing a 20 minute production of Hairspray, I'm Tracy! But I really can't dance but I'm telling myself if Nick Jonas can do it so can I! ;)
The extra in glasses, pink pants, and colorful checkered jacket is on point with his dancing! I noticed some of the cast was kind of half-assing the choreo, even some of the main characters. Shame, but a tleast that guys energy made up for it a bit!
@@angela3403 Diana DiGarmo list the role because she was apparently too tall and there was a chance to see Aretha as Motormouth. This is for the 2007 movie.

Nick. Fucking. Jonas. as Link,
Why is Penny a better singer then Tracey
Because the Tracy in this one is gawdawful O_P....

Alex Nance maybe it symbolizes change? Like the sixties was an era of change, and maybe the hair represent change from the old. But Idk.
