I think it’s awesome how you trained your sons to do what is needed on the farm including your daughter. I love it . God bless you and your family.🙏🏾💕💕🙏🏾
People make it cruel by putting human emotions into it. They like the meat but don’t want to think about how it came about. You show compassion and thankfulness to and for the animals.
Big Daddy needs his family more than ever. Losing your other half must be so traumatizing. I HOPE the family focuses on his happiness for a little bit. Maybe take him for a trip somewhere that brings him joy. I hope he spends a lot of time with the boys and passes on his knowledge of construction. Maybe plan a few construction projects like a new bridge and have big daddy be the project manager. Give a man purpose and you give him life.
Great video Justin, very informative.Pity all the meat in our supermarkets didn’t enjoy the same life as yours, yours had a good life, with an easy ending ❤The circle of life.
So many people are so distanced from where their food comes from and find this process mean, cruel or offensive…if you eat meat this has to be done. I have so much more respect for your way…if you’re going to consume it you should feel and know the sacrifice of the meat! It doesn’t grow on a tree! Blessings Rhodes family!❤
Some would find this offensive. I find it to be very useful life lessons that you are teaching your children. They will never go wanting for food. I also find that people who are offended by this practice have never had fresh beef off of a farm. Again you are a awesome father sir.
Most vegans, in my experience, would understand this. The disgusting industry of factory farming is what many people are opposed to. Death is a part of animal life, but suffering shouldn't be. These cows don't suffer.
My grandson grew up on a farm and he knows how to butcher chickens, though he says the gross parts are the head part, lol. But he was taught that this is how we get food. He is 9 going on 16. He knows so much more than I do about everything, changing oil in tractors, has been cutting grass since he's been 3.5 years old, helps dad create wood projects, you name it, he has probably done it. What a difference between city life and country life. I love listening to him, his goal is to own a farm when he grows up. Geez we have college kids who don't even know what they want in life yet, and this boy knows what he wants!
Kinda sad that you don't do longer videos these days. We love them so much, they're always the first videos we watch each day when we finally sit down. ❤️
they simply don't have TIME to do longer videos. They aren't sitting in a typical homestead right now, MOST of their days are spent STILL cleaning up after Hurricane Helene, and helping their neighbors do the same.
Every time I watch one of your harvest videos I learned something new even is the tiniest thing is still doing something. Thank you so much for doing this many blessings from North Texas.❤
Crazy how much the channel has grown in recent years. I remember when it was a smaller channel seeing that 1 million subs yall really deserve it need a tv show series tbh.
Glad you have the whole family involved in the harvesting of the meat. It's good for them to know where their food comes from, so they don't take it for granted and are able to be sustainable. Like your set up. We have always had to butcher and pack our own meat, but no problems there. If you do something with the hides, could you please do a quick cover of how your take care of the tanning and such? Till then Have fun little bro. ---Mike😁
Very humane. Not selfish like those only thinking of what THEY WOULD WANT....THEY are NOT IN THOSE BODIES & DON'T KNOW what they would want. HERD ANIMALS ARE ONLY HAPPY in the HERD.
The lungs look good! I assume you guys don't eat them, but they are edible. You can stuff it and cook it or slice it and braise cook it. Ahh I feel bad the tripe and the intestines just end up as trash though. Its a lot of work to clean but its decent if you know good recipes.
Lazy semi-pro amateur tip, I use an old recip saw with a fine metal blade to cut through bones, saving my arms, shoulders and back from the pain of the workout.
Beautiful. I’ve eaten so much beef. Being from OK it’s very common here. I still had to force myself to watch the process. I think it would be good for me to be a part of this process at some point in my life.
I find this very difficult to watch. But I do it because too many people do not know where their food comes from. To me, it is important to not be distant or separated from the entire process. Since I don't grow my own meat, this is a way of appreciating the grass fed beef that I purchase.
I love your channel but this is hard to watch. When I was in the 8th grade back in the early 60s they took us to a slaughter house fir a school trip of all things. I will never forget the line of cows standing in a line watching us going to their death. It never left me that feeling like Hilters camp.
Justin's cattle had it easy. They were with their friends in a familiar place. Nothing scary or worrisome. They had good lives and calm deaths. Not much more one could ask for.
Right on brother man! Quick question, does that air do anything to the meat? On the second cow it seemed that you off gas the cow and it was pretty stanky. Did it just sit for a little too long? I don’t know and am genuinely curious. How long does it take for something like that to happen if they are alive? Do they get stuck? I have heard of this happening to sheep.
cows produce a lot of methane as part of digestion. they burp a lot to alleviate pressure. the gas wasn't death bloat. They were quite quick in the processing.
I butchered my only steer in college. I majored in Animal Science we had to kill and butcher in front of an USDA agent. Pass or Fail. I was the only female who butchered. The meat passed and so did I. 18 years old in 1981. Good memories 😊. Don't force Animals Science on anyone. I witnessed the damage. Both animals and humans. You're going to need a Banker in the family. Just saying.
You dont kill a human in front of his friends … You don’t kill a human at all? Really bad reference … Not against killing livestock at all and you’re doing great but seriously …
They are busy rebuilding after the hurricane and also grieving the loss of Becka’s mom. Have some patience. Be grateful we get any videos at all right now.😊
Just some feedback I love to listen on my way to pick up my sons from school (60 min round trip five times a week I usually turn onto your channel for the first 14 mins drive. The shorter videos are a little annoying! Love your work Austin, very cool music, but would be interested in seeing some depth of conversation. Videos have changed; not criticising, but just an observation! 🦘
I love how you are keeping Big Daddy busy and involved!
I think it’s awesome how you trained your sons to do what is needed on the farm including your daughter. I love it . God bless you and your family.🙏🏾💕💕🙏🏾
Big Daddy and Grandma always took them to be processed, so glad Jonah is going now!! Great time to bond and reminisce!!
People make it cruel by putting human emotions into it. They like the meat but don’t want to think about how it came about. You show compassion and thankfulness to and for the animals.
They watch disney movies and think THAT is real life!

I agree and TH-cam would take down my honest thoughts 😅

Great to see Jonah and Josiah front and center on butchering day.
And Justin having some fun with lungs.
Kinda sad that you don't do longer videos these days. We love them so much, they're always the first videos we watch each day when we finally sit down. ❤️
Agree ❤
Don't forget how much extra they are doing, post flooding, at home and for others. That whole area of the country is busier then they have ever been.
they simply don't have TIME to do longer videos. They aren't sitting in a typical homestead right now, MOST of their days are spent STILL cleaning up after Hurricane Helene, and helping their neighbors do the same.
Home grown food. Home shared memories. Home raised youngings. Home filled fellowship!
Cordless reciprocating saw with stainless steel blade works great for splitting.. blades were found on amazon
Every time I watch one of your harvest videos I learned something new even is the tiniest thing is still doing something. Thank you so much for doing this many blessings from North Texas.❤
Good job! Love the family working together!🎉😊💜🙏

It good to see Big Daddy keeping busy.♥️
This is hard to watch, but I respect it.
I’m eating supper while watching this, don’t bother me, I grew up watching this

Full freezers sure does take a load off.

Essential survival skills.
When he breathed into the lungs I died 😂 I’d never seen anyone do that but my husband said he’d done it while cleaning a deer.

Thanks for sharing this! It was short sweet and helped my kids understand basic butchery for meat.
Gute Arbeit
Beste Grüße aus Bayern 🤗🇩🇪🤝🏻🇺🇲
You guys definitely have lots more guts than me! Congratulations
Excellent helpers!!❤❤🙏🙏xxoo

Very interesting, and you fortunate to have your own meat. You know what they have been eating/fed. If some are offended than they shouldn’t watch.
What your children know how to do....is priceless+

Amazing hard work. Wow. Just wow
now this is how you raise children…. hopefully you guys are recovering ❤️🩹 well 🤓
hard to watch but appreciate the cycle of life.
Make a wooden crazed board that has the steps for each animal harvest. Weather treat it and leave it by each station.
I’ve never seen that before. Interesting. Not sure I could do that but I am glad someone can!
Jonah the butcher. He has it down. Do you guys process the rumen. Beef tripe is the best. Glad you are including Big Daddy. ❤️
I'm surprised that you don't harvest the tripe from the stomachs for dog food?
Do y'all dry age for better quality and flavor? What do you do with the ofal? Are the hides tanned?
Thank you 👍 I’m not “grossed out” by this, however, I did wait until I was done eating my lunch before viewing. 😂 Happy Day ❤
I didn't eat my lunch, and now I'm hungry, lol!
In the Old Testament it talks about sacrificing a bull to God! It’s really interesting to watch you doing it.
Hi Justin, great video. Wondering why you don’t do the rest of the cutting yourself and prefer to bring the butcher? Thanks for the info!
Need a sawzall particularly in the butchering tools if you want it to go quicker.
That shot was so well placed. Good job!
Yep…Abundance Plus is where it’s at!!!

God bless you
Our dogs loooooove beef heart. Either smoke and slice…or… slice and dehydrate.
yep...I use dehydrated beef heart for doggo treats and trainng rewards.
❤
I’m sure like all your videos this is a great video. Thank you for doing it. I can’t watch. A bit to swinish here. Have great week.
Good to see you slaughtering your beef together!! God's blessings!!
Iam from nepal .
Iam thinking of staying with
Rhodes style .it's pride move ment for uh Jesus
Do you not hang and age your meat before it's broken down into portions?
A little off topic but did you build another pole shed last year how did that make out in the hurricane

A sawz-all is great for splitting carcasses.
I love this!
Good jog getting them done. But sad you are not doing the Butchering at home.
Great job!
Learning for sure
ABUNDANCE!!!
That's how we do it.😊
❤❤❤❤
❤ This!
you should do some grilling
I love beef. But I can't do what you do. Perhaps if I was raised on a farm with livestock.
you should of kept the tail and make oxtail and rice meal hugsssss
I never heard the Rhoades family say rather or not they process and eat the cows tail
We are getting our first snow today.
3:40 TMI 😳😱
Use a SAWZ-ALL!!!
bagged ice
It’s all part of farming,
My uncle uses a ban saw and a sawsaw to cut up his cows
I have a rooster I want to take out. My wife and daughter said nooooo. But they complain about his singing.
Save the blood for blood sausage
Recip saw with a top quality wood blade ..Cuts down the back bone like butter 👍
I'm sure you'll have people freakin out in the comments about you putting your lips on raw beef lungs. Lol
💝🐄💞💘💕🐄💖
This episode is not offensive to me, but I just have a very hard time seeing animals killed, even though I eat meat.❤
It’s food
You dont kill a human in front of his friends … You don’t kill a human at all? Really bad reference … Not against killing livestock at all and you’re doing great but seriously …
👀👀❤❤❤❤❤❤
Are you making blood pudding
There is no way anyone in this family would ever eat blood pudding, blood sausage, black pudding.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Happy Day
Your vlogs aren't long enough
They are busy rebuilding after the hurricane and also grieving the loss of Becka’s mom. Have some patience. Be grateful we get any videos at all right now.😊
How long are YOUR vlogs?!

Sorry can't watch this episode, cruel to cows😢
Just some feedback
