I bet it's been asked but did you try heating up the hand in hot water before putting the bow in? I have to do that with figures quite often, so often I consider it part of collecting.
Hey man, I'm sorry the replacement didn't work out ( I'd suggest a hairdryer but that's alot of work for fit a bow & arrow!). Still awesome Roody was willing to help you out and hook you up! Also I would love a Sherif figure with Nutsy/ Trigger! Btw if you ever wanna get rid of your Robin Hood, id love to give him a home! ❤
With regards to just getting a replacement hand, it's better you didn't ask for that. I was missing hands from one of mine and I was told that they didn't have replacement parts readily available but I would be added to their replacements list - If they ran into an open box return they could pull from, they would have the hands shipped to me. That was over a year ago. Good thing I didn't hold my breath 😅
I don’t have super 7 yet. With neca, hasbro and Mcfarlane I heat up with blow drier sometimes. I don’t with figurarts, it’s a different plastic that, I might try with warm to hot water with figuarts. There’s a line tho with what we’re asked of to adjust with new in box figures paid full retail.
It’s crazy to think it’s needed at $55. Haha. I can forgive some issues since it’s mass production issues. If I knew to do this I may not have even really been so upset the first go around.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed nodnod, been there frustrated with stiff or defective joints etc, and then stumbled upon YTers that explained how to’s, for new figures even, lol. 🤦♂️ when the issues were too much, I luckily received replacements after sending defective items, and at times got to keep the defective item. These channels help us all out. Cheers 👊
It should work. I do it all the time. Lots of figure come with stiff plastic, especially on the hands. But if you warm it up, it should make it so you can stretch the hand open more . Let me know if it works! Love your toy reviews!
This is why I’ve stopped unboxing figures from brands like Super7, NECA, Mafex, etc. I’ve decided I like them in the box where I’m unaware of the issues. But that’s cool that they send you a whole new figure if you’re unsatisfied
No offence but figures are meant to be out of the box, whether they are meant to be played with or displayed through posing. I think Toy Story summed up the reasons why perfectly. I think keeping them in the box from fear of having issues is just playing safe and not worth the price to take the risk! A leap of faith is better than staying up in that tall tower forever!
Personally, i wish super7 would give an option for a plain shipper-box to save some cost from my end. I’m out of box collector, so, why pay for the graphic design?
just wondering, how long did it take for a response from Rudy? was asked to send pictures of damage to him in a response email ( my Hyacinth Hippo figure broke right after opening, attempted to switch heads & the neck post came right off the base of the figure :/ ), I sent 'em over & am still waiting for a reply
Another great entertaining vid! Rudy is amazing. Helped me out multiple times, which doesn't sound good as I think the whole shopping experience should be error-free. My issue with Super7 are the 3D renders are never updated towards the final release. Mandora was just horrible. So not signing up for pre-orders until someone reviews the final product.
It's totally wild. The new Notorious BIG looks incredible and that was up for preorder around the end of 2022. I don't understand how it's so hit or miss
I totally feel your frustration. I've been a Super7 collector for a while now and with around 14 figures (TMNT and Thundercats) I've experienced some of the same things. I thought some of the figures are amazing (Monkian and Slithe) while others look great, but suffer from loose joints or poor execution of accessories (looking at you Tigra and Ace Duck). In my experience, I'm batting about 75% good versus 25% poor. I know there's some with much larger Super7 collections and I'd be interested in what their experiences are. It's tough when they are the only source of some of the licenses I absolutely love. But I think @Jamie Vaughn is 100% correct that this is the collector market these days. It shouldn't be, but it is. NECA, Hasbro, Mattel are all guilty of 'phoning it in' with some figures while killing it with others. It's just really a bummer that as a collector, we have to play 'plastic russian roulette' and wonder if the next figure we open will delight or disappoint.
Thanks for sharing all of this. It’s wild to gamble so much with any brand, but I feel the “great to crap” meter moves a lot more with Super7. Most of it being the price to quality, I think. I hope their Simpsons line continues to be great, because I want them to make some money to invest into other licenses. I have a friend that is selling their entire TMNT collection from S7, because it just isn’t holding the quality when these other brands are getting it. Hasbro as a company though probably makes me the most angry because they are the largest and global. They have the most money but give mediocre repaints all day.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Agreed on the 'Great to Crap' meter swing. Hasbro is a whole other ball of worms though. There's been some pretty interesting info coming out of them about how their new CEO (or whatever his title is) is going to increase profits 50% while focusing more on their 'large performing brands' (paraphrasing there). Almost feels like, again, they phone it in on some of these lines for the quick buck, while others definitely offer more value. Add to this the way licensing fees unbalance the value of different lines, but they have to keep "perceived value" equal enough not to upset the licensors - makes my head swim. GI Joe Classified vs Star Wars Black Series is a good example of that. End of day, we need to vote with our dollars to drive change. And if that means we see toys for certain licenses go away for a while then so be it. I really want the S7 Silverhawks to be great, but I'm bracing myself for major disappointment there. We shall see.
@@jace9763 didn’t they remove Silverhawks from their website? Even the list of licenses. I recommend watching the latest video from Nerdzoic if you haven’t. His “grinds my gears” one
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Not sure what the status really is on those. Super7 still lists them on their preorder status page with shipping of the first 3 waves in late Feb, early May, and September. BBTS, EE, and others still have them available for preorder, but there has definitely been some weirdness with the license. I've seen a few TH-camrs mention it in interviews with Bryan and he hasn't gone into much detail other than stumbling around the issue vaguely. That's also part of the reason I'm bracing for disappointment. As a rule, I never preorder from Super7 directly. Always through BBTS or others so I never pay up front and have the option to cancel at any time - Just in case there's any funny business with lines or licenses.
I had a recent purging of my collection and sold off my Super 7 stuff and went on to collect NECA and Hasbro only to find the same issues lol. My Hasbro GIJOE had lots of figures with loose joints, where my NECA stuff I bought had about half with near broken paint and joints. It's tough out here trying to collect these things. In the end I just went back to Super 7 and am now opening them all up. I got Mandora and her cycle and it's great. Some of my TMNT stuff, also great. Not sure why I left considering none of these companies are flawless, but with Super 7 I am getting the lines I really want. I'll deal with the occasional bad stuff I guess but overall I am pretty pleased with my Super 7 figures. I will say though that I do wish they were a tad cheaper, but a recent interview with their CEO brought out the obvious in that they just don't make enough product to sell at a mass that would allow for a lower price, might be why you only get Rudy as they aren't that big of a company. Anyhow, glad you got a good replacement and it does appear you got a lemon on that first go.
Thanks for this! Buying their stuff at lower prices (in the 20s) makes them great items to have. I truly want Super7 to succeed because I like what they are offering most of the time. Just need that quality to match the price and definitely need to match the renders. I’m surprised you like Mandora based on how off she from the renders/prototypes. Hasbro has become the enemy though. 😂
I can also say Super7 is VERY fast on customer service. I got a Vincent Price reaction without the raven and they sent me a new one very quickly. On other hand I LOVE Mezco stuff but I don’t even attempt to contact customer service as it’s the worst.
