I followed this to the letter and it went fantastic. Nice work. Nothing against dealerships (ok well maybe lol) but they quoted just over $2000 to change out the BCM for a right signal light that would not work. Reading online I discovered it was a bad IC in the BCM and bought a used one for around $30. Got the VCX and followed the video and all is now well. Not to mention its a fairly decent diagnostic tool. I was able to do a Crankshaft Sensor reset and look at quite a few items under the hood. I did have some issues with the airbag but discovered another actual error with them and was able to locate the issue with the VCX. Thank you for putting this out there. Truly appreciated.
Great video. My BCM has gone out. I have no highbeams or AC and my air bag light cam on all about the same time. I ordered the VCX nano and a new BCM and I purchased the ACDelco software. Hopefully this fixes my issues.

Great video! Really the nano is a fantastic tool. I have been having strange fuel supply issues in my 2010 GMC Sierra. I will have good pressure and then I get this low power bobble. The bobble shows up on the fuel pressure graphs on my scan tool. I was recording a data run when the voltage and fuel pressure dropped to 0 and shot back up to 43psi within about a second. Just long enough apparently that I didn’t stall or get a misfire. I was cruising with the cruise control on going 55mph. I probably wouldn’t have even noticed it but I seen everything spike down out of my peripheral vision. I would have thought it was the scanner but I started watching for it and realized my fuel pressure is below requested about 45% of the time. 😳 The pump was replaced almost exactly one year ago with a Delco complete unit. I also never go below 3/4 of a tank so it’s not like the pumps is getting abused. It has been on for about 5k miles. I bought another one and Rock auto is going to refund me when I get the new one. I appreciate the cheaper interface tool as an option for programming parts such as the fuel pump controller.

I need this feature to go through security gates at my job as well as not blind people at the boat launch early mornings. Will this allow me to change the headlight setting in the BCM?
If you're good at soldering then you can just replace the 8 pin eeprom from your old bcm to the new one. No need to pack for a vxdiag and the acdelco stuffs 😁

I bought a 13 silverado and purchased the key fobs with the remote start button and I programmed the fobs to work with my matco scanner, but when i hit the lock button then right after the start button on the fob, all my truck does is blink the parking lights with no attempt of starting. I have no CEL on. Any help is appreciated. I just dont want to go to the stealership.
It should work, the process may be different in some details so this video may not apply exactly but it would still be done with the SPS system through the AC Delco TDS website.

i just watched this video, sounds like something I am going to give a shot. I have a 2006 cadillac cts, we bought couple months ago and had a problem pop up with the front turn signals coming on and staying on. I have done alot of research and it seems this may be a bcm problem. I just wanted to verify what all I would need to buy to replace my bcm with a used one. The ACdelcoTDS program obviously, but then do i need the Tech2 software? Assuming i need an OBDII adapter to usb, for connection to my laptop. i have my own OBDII sensor, not an expensive one though.
You won’t need the Tech2 software, just a cable (I’d recommend one of the OBDX Pro cables) and access to a TDS subscription. I’ve been told the process has changed a bit since I made this video, I’ll look into updating it.

I believe when using the 'replace ecm' option you should be starting the process with the original controller in place so the configuration can be retrieved and loaded into the new unit. I'm not sure if that would simplify the process or not?

Hey man , I got a 2017 Dodge Charger Scatpack with many BCM issues so I bought a used BCM I found for 90 bucks and now the dealership is saying I have to pay 150 to reprogram it and 400 to install it also and I’m not trying to do that lol you think this method would work for my year car since it’s kind of newer?

Amazon sells a plug in for this for $8. Its an inline plug in to the hood latch sensor at the hood latch. I'm not sure how it works but I think it makes the vehicle think the hood is open but you have no warning light

For those of us who are computer, illiterate or at least think we are, who would you recommend to do this service for you.? I am in Southern California and I see there’s a lot of places to send off your BCM to either be fixed/repaired or cloned. I am getting a C0551:47 error in my body control module. I think it is defective. As a matter fact I’m pretty sure it is. I can get a good working body control module just like you did. There’s a service in New York, called G7 computers who can fix my existing damaged BCM.but they claim they can’t do any program such as inserting my Vin number into the existing BCM. Please help. I just bought a 2008 HHR. And I swear it is possessed.
I am new, brand new, no previous experience new to any kind d of programming/tuning. My 2001 5.3 keeps draining the battery and I exhausted all methods known to me to find the slow leak with no success. Mechanic inspected and suggested the BCM likely needed replaced. After watching your videos many times as well as some on Goat Rope Garage, my confidence was high. I had a degree of success but my truck won't start after the reprogram. Also noticed that there are not the many options shown in your video...4 modules and 5 under the BCM. Also having issues with Tech2win, says not licensed and I don't know if there's a special way to launch it or something else I'm missing. This is a lot to unpack..but any help is appreciated.
@@LowbuckLS Awesome that would be greatly appreciated! I have a 09 Tahoe which was a PPV and im pretty sure the BCM is going bad. The entire gauge cluster basically shuts off completely and needs a full power off and back on to recover. The vehicle runs fine otherwise but is annoying. I also need to change the wheel/tire size to get the speedometer to match up.

Hey Randy, I’m a little behind. Glad to see you throwing up some content! Do you happen to know if using this programmer and software if you can permanently get rid of the TPMS crap. Like you I’m not running the sensors and just tired of the warning.
No unfortunately this won’t work to disable the TPMS system, it will only program whatever options came with the VIN from the factory. There is a guy in the states that does custom BCM programming, that’s the only way I know of to disable TPMS. I’d love to learn how to do that but the guys who know how to do it are pretty secretive about their methods. Nice hearing from you again though!
Randy, did you ever get an error that the vin couldn’t be read? As well I don’t see a vxc nano option to select only the two Bosch units that you had at the top. Oh, I’m not sure where to add the vin for my one vehicle subscription for two years. Thank you
I’m having the same issue. I get an error message that says the username and password is already in use when I click add vin. Still sends me to start sps. Follow all the same steps but I don’t see the j2435 wrapper and it doesn’t see my vcx nano. I even tried opening a new account with a different email to see if I screwed something up. And I get the same thing. Did you resolve this issue?
I did figure it out. I didn’t have the j2435 installed in the tool settings. Now I’m getting errors when attempting to program the module (climate control seat module)

Hi, do you have any idea of how to setup SDM primary key in BCM for a 2014 chevy silverado, I bought the vcx nano to do the same procedure that yo did but I didn’t realize the tech2win won’t work on models 2014 above.
There’s gotta be a way to do it with the GDS2 application, unfortunately I don’t have a GDS2 compatible vehicle to connect to, and I can’t see the menus without being connected to a vehicle.

too bad Opel moved to PSA service box from ACDelco TDS... now the prices for SPS are only for 2 hours and costs 35 euros ... (40$). Note that up to 2012 you can do SPS only with Global TIS installed. ACDelco TDS is only needed for cars 2013+ (at least in Europe)

I have a 2006 Sa Vue that has been showing signs of a bad BCM, i.e., erratic fuel gauge, radio not working, cruise ctrl not working at times....and tonight, stalling, jerking when trying to accelerate, security light on while the vehicle is running, etc. Do you think these programming tools will reprogram a new bcm.....I have one on the way? So I tried these instructions but it appears that TDS has moved to this Techline Connect platform and install a whole suite of software overwriting all my VCX Nano data :(
@@stilinsm Not yet, working on it. I think the only way to get it to work properly is to setup only Techline Connect with the VCX Nano and do NOT do the AutoInstall using the VCX Nano software. Maybe setup a virtual machine?

Will this work on a 2014 Caprice? I need a NEW BCM and don't want to deal with the dealer.

Protip: Your CEL light is always on if the engine isn't running.
Did the replacement module have the old vin in it? Does the programming overwrite the old vin with the real vin?

It wasn’t a problem when I did mine, the key fobs worked normally after the BCM swap.

Hey man , I got a 2017 Dodge Charger Scatpack with many BCM issues so I bought a used BCM I found for 90 bucks and now the dealership is saying I have to pay 150 to reprogram it and 400 to install it also and I’m not trying to do that lol you think this method would work for my year car since it’s kind of newer?

So what are you doing now that gm has blocked this feature? Just a year ago I was able to program a used bcm to my 2016 Chevrolet Cruze but now with this tech line I can't do it on an 2015 Malibu I just got.

Amazon sells a plug in for this for $8. Its an inline plug in to the hood latch sensor at the hood latch. I'm not sure how it works but I think it makes the vehicle think the hood is open but you have no warning light
What if the ignition won't turn on? The key does but it doesn't do anything that's why I'm replacing my bcm
@LOWBUCKLS I have a 2013 Silverado and am having TPMS issues that may be related to a faulty BCM. Is the VCX NANO still the tool you would purchase in 2024 or is there something better out now for a similar price?

@@CarlosDelaoGunEngraver My issue was not caused by the BCM in the end. It was a broken wire which was not easy to find.
When you place the module with the same number, do you need to program it too?
Yes, serial part number can go for more than one car, the BCM need to be programmed for your specific car.
So...I changed the injection module on my Silverado and here in Brazil no one can program it, what would be the best option
For those of us who are computer, illiterate or at least think we are, who would you recommend to do this service for you.? I am in Southern California and I see there’s a lot of places to send off your BCM to either be fixed/repaired or cloned. I am getting a C0551:47 error in my body control module. I think it is defective. As a matter fact I’m pretty sure it is. I can get a good working body control module just like you did. There’s a service in New York, called G7 computers who can fix my existing damaged BCM.but they claim they can’t do any program such as inserting my Vin number into the existing BCM. Please help. I just bought a 2008 HHR. And I swear it is possessed.

I am new, brand new, no previous experience new to any kind d of programming/tuning. My 2001 5.3 keeps draining the battery and I exhausted all methods known to me to find the slow leak with no success. Mechanic inspected and suggested the BCM likely needed replaced. After watching your videos many times as well as some on Goat Rope Garage, my confidence was high. I had a degree of success but my truck won't start after the reprogram. Also noticed that there are not the many options shown in your video...4 modules and 5 under the BCM. Also having issues with Tech2win, says not licensed and I don't know if there's a special way to launch it or something else I'm missing. This is a lot to unpack..but any help is appreciated.
Where do you get the new eversion of the software for this setup now in 2024 ?

@@LowbuckLS Awesome that would be greatly appreciated! I have a 09 Tahoe which was a PPV and im pretty sure the BCM is going bad. The entire gauge cluster basically shuts off completely and needs a full power off and back on to recover. The vehicle runs fine otherwise but is annoying. I also need to change the wheel/tire size to get the speedometer to match up.

Hey Randy, I’m a little behind. Glad to see you throwing up some content! Do you happen to know if using this programmer and software if you can permanently get rid of the TPMS crap. Like you I’m not running the sensors and just tired of the warning.
No unfortunately this won’t work to disable the TPMS system, it will only program whatever options came with the VIN from the factory. There is a guy in the states that does custom BCM programming, that’s the only way I know of to disable TPMS. I’d love to learn how to do that but the guys who know how to do it are pretty secretive about their methods. Nice hearing from you again though!

I’m having the same issue. I get an error message that says the username and password is already in use when I click add vin. Still sends me to start sps. Follow all the same steps but I don’t see the j2435 wrapper and it doesn’t see my vcx nano. I even tried opening a new account with a different email to see if I screwed something up. And I get the same thing. Did you resolve this issue?
I did figure it out. I didn’t have the j2435 installed in the tool settings. Now I’m getting errors when attempting to program the module (climate control seat module)
@@jeffgarner3903 how did you get it installed. I don’t have a driver showing up in settings either. When I run sps I don’t see the wrapper but a tech2 j2534 driver does show up. Is that what you installed?
Im getting an error E4403 once I try adding the vehicle. I tried all the updates, tried skipping the updates, etc. And still will not work. Im on Windows 7 64bit. Did you guys figure it out????

Yes I went through the process you detailed in your video and received an error message at the end of BCM reprogramming. I remember in a previous video you purchased Tech 2 on a 3 day trial did you still have that software in the system when you loaded the programs from VX Diag Nano?
No I deleted all of the previous software before installing the VCX Nano software. I’m not sure what could be causing that.

Hi, do you have any idea of how to setup SDM primary key in BCM for a 2014 chevy silverado, I bought the vcx nano to do the same procedure that yo did but I didn’t realize the tech2win won’t work on models 2014 above.
There’s gotta be a way to do it with the GDS2 application, unfortunately I don’t have a GDS2 compatible vehicle to connect to, and I can’t see the menus without being connected to a vehicle.

too bad Opel moved to PSA service box from ACDelco TDS... now the prices for SPS are only for 2 hours and costs 35 euros ... (40$). Note that up to 2012 you can do SPS only with Global TIS installed. ACDelco TDS is only needed for cars 2013+ (at least in Europe)

Great information in this video. I have a 2006 Sa Vue that has been showing signs of a bad BCM, i.e., erratic fuel gauge, radio not working, cruise ctrl not working at times....and tonight, stalling, jerking when trying to accelerate, security light on while the vehicle is running, etc. Do you think these programming tools will reprogram a new bcm.....I have one on the way? Thanks!

So I tried these instructions but it appears that TDS has moved to this Techline Connect platform and install a whole suite of software overwriting all my VCX Nano data :(

@@stilinsm Not yet, working on it. I think the only way to get it to work properly is to setup only Techline Connect with the VCX Nano and do NOT do the AutoInstall using the VCX Nano software. Maybe setup a virtual machine?
