Installed a salvaged bcm on a 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx SS the exact same way. and it worked. I just used the exact same part number of the Bcm. used the Rpo code for the radio and worked fine. No issues

I have a 2006 Solstice Manual Basic 2.4L Discovered this past winter that a few inches of ice/water on floor of my downward tilting solstice from rear window leak caused BCM failure. Removed fuses/relays & battery cable. Exact part# replacement BCM from same model/year proved a positive step, except for the mileage off by 10k, the LOCKED displayed on the radio which I was going to replace anyway, and the engine won't crank. I have done the 10-12m sequences to relearn my keys several times without success. Best doc I found is: key position to crank then release, leave 12m then off 10s, repeat twice more, remove key 1m, then it sould start. I have a P0315 Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned that I clear but immediately returns. No other codes but engine light remains on. During the key relearn the security light will not go out. During initial attempts to crank, I do hear the fuel pump charge the fuel line. Security light stays solid. When the ignition key put into the RUN position, at the main fuse panel in the engine compartment, both the RUN Crank [51] relay pulls in and the crank fuse [5] terminals are hot . Battery fully charged as I have had this car on a battery charger for weeks. The tech on Just Ask said: The BCM will need to be programmed with a GM Tech2 scan tool and access to GM tech site to download software.There is not a workaround for this. You will need to call around to your local GM dealers to find one to do the programming as many refuse to do the programming for customer installed control modules. Can this scan program tool fix this ?

We install a used BCM into our cobalt ss . We took the car to the dealer to reprogram it and unlock the radio and they said couldn’t communicate with it. Took $70 dollars even though they did nothing. It appears in your video it is possible reprogram a salvaged bcm?

In an '07 Cobalt does the BCM have any influence over the blower fan switch. Switch was replaced with no results, also replaced the head unit twice, no dice. Good power to all connections and blower spins when hotwired. Any clues?
And just when I thought I had ECM tuning down, I'm starting to discover a whole new world of pain and suffering these manufactures continue to perpetrate on my wallet. My Cobalt is having the "auto door lock" issue where they just do their own thing all the time, in addition to that, now the trunk doesn't open. I'm stuck overseas now, otherwise I would see what codes come up on my laptop, but HPTuners only really has access to the PCM/ECM, not the BCM. So really, if it is the BCM it's not something I can program or override or switch off certain features like I do on ECM's for modded cars for other needless sensors (like egr or downstream O2's on catless setups). HpTuners can relink VATS, and do crank relearns though, which makes ECM swaps (07 and older at least) a breeze. When I get back in a few weeks and start to fix this thing I'll report back since I don't usually get much newer than 2002 as far as swapping goes lol. Tuning is a whole other thing in of itself, but requires no special linking or programming of modules per-se. Just modifying the tune, then a quick flash. Looks like I have to open up my wallet again if I want to stay independent. But seriously, if one of these units goes for 2k+, then why not just pick up a Tech 2?
I have the MS906bt and would like to code in a new AC/ Heater control on 2009 Enclave. There are no options that I can find that will allow me to do that. Nothing under HVAC or BCM and going to special functions in each area. Any ideas?
@@FlashPerformance KIA claimed only their OBD could program a BCM. As it turns out, by just completely draining the charge from the system, then resetting everything, the system automatically programmed the BCM... worked perfectly! 🙂

Most electric vehicle manufacturers are still using a 16 Pin OBD2 port. This will give you access to the vehicle systems, from there you can operate the Automatic brake bleed and follow the OR procedure. TOPDON ArtiDiag Pro, any TOPDON Phoenix, Or any Autel MaxiSys can do these operations.
Hi there I have a problem with a 2010 Dodge Gran caravan no charging, I have made sure that the wires from Alt to ECM are good tested them continuity both are good and are able to transport power I can can get a new ECM and reprogram it so is there a way to by-pass the ECM and make a separate charging system or is the Autel Ultracan do a flush? if so could you tell me how. thank you
How does that system work, Does the PCM control the field on the Alternator? I have seen where the PCM driver will go out and cause the vehicle not to charge. Check the wiring diagram for the circuit and see if there is a field wire from the PCM
That's a tricky question. On this specific application I would say yes because the DS808 has the ability to set up the SDM for the Body control module. However the DS808 is does not contain the high end coding and initialization that the MaxiSys MS906BT and up have. Maybe, depends on what you mean. If you are trying to diagnosis the cruse control you can do different activation to see if it is working properly and to diagnosis the issue. If you are asking, can I add cruise control to one that didn't come from the factory that way, then no. Cruse control is all about inputs. You need to make sure you have all the inputs required.
No, the Autel tools can not remove the security features from a vehicle. You might just need to do the key relearn procedure. Those vehicles don't require any special tools to relearn the keys after the BCM has been coded or programmed.
i have the same year car and just replaced the ECM in it my ? is i have a driver side headlight not working on low beam works on high beam sealed beam light just put LED in all other lights work do i need to maybe replace the BCM or maybe just reprogram it
There are a lot of other things I would recommend checking before replacing the BCM. Start by using alldatadiy.com and purchasing the wiring diagrams. Each light has its own fuse, start there. Then bypass the relay and see if the light comes on. Then I would use a scan tool to command the BCM to turn on the lights and see if you get a ground signal.

I need to tell my 2010 Ford Escape's BCM to recognize a new FoMoCo headlights switch with my retrofit of Fog Lights on my vehicle that was not included in my XLS model but was with the XLT model. And I also want to add FoMoCo steering wheel mounted switches for controlling the stereo and smartphone interface. Basically I want to add all BCM options in the Escape XLT to my Escape XLS. What your asking for is not an easy process. You will need to go to Ford directly and let them know the components that you have changed and what function you want to add to your Escape. They will have to change the As Built Data at the engineering level for your specific vehicle VIN. Once that has been done you will have to use a J2534 box and ford specific software with a windows PC. I had issues when I replaced mine to. It turns out their are multiple versions of the same body control module. You will need to find one with the same Part Number and calibration. Once you get the right PN and Calibration you will most likely need to program the BCM with a Tech 2 or J2534 box. From OE information: BCM Programming Important: Use extreme care when verifying both the VIN and Odometer reading that is set in the service BCM. Once the VIN and Odometer are set in the replacement BCM it is impossible to change them, and if there is a mismatch, the part will be rendered useless. To setup a new replacement BCM select Vehicle Control Systems, then navigate to Computer/Integrating Systems, once in the Computer/Integrating Systems menu select Module Replacement/Setup and follow the instructions on the scan tool. After the setup procedure it is necessary to perform the Remote Start setup procedure and brake pedal position (BPP) Sensor Calibration procedure. Refer to the Importants below for further information. If the BCM fails to accept the program, perform the following steps: * Inspect all BCM connections. * Verify that the scan tool has the latest software version.
the used one that i got had the same part numbers but the those light keep lighting up so i ended up geting a new one from the dealer then i use the autel to program it everything went back to normal. all the light when out and the original miles came back.

Remember when cars were simple to repair, and didn’t require fancy pansy scan tools, for repairs, programming electronic parts to “talk” to the engine computer before the car can start, and paying a fortune to cut an extra ignition key, and another to reprogram fobs???? Am I missing something? Your video comment says that you replaced a Cobalt BCM from a junkyard and that the video will show how to code the BCM to the PCM. The Cobalt and the Solstice actually have a lot in common. I bought an identical used BCM on ebay. ANYONE ? 2012 Camaro Conv. RS V6. I bought this car after a flood. Have installed new modules where needed and have replaced the BCM and cannot access it with my scanner. All modules are accessible thru the scanner & can program them. When I try to go into BCM it comes back with "unit is not installed in car" . I put the old unit in & same thing. BCM has to be working as car starts, all ac & gauge functions work, etc. There are a few things that don't work thus the new unit. The new unit was originally programmed by the dealer but they had trouble accessing it also. As it cost to much to carry the car to them to check each item I bought my own scanner/programmer to troubleshoot with eliminating $110 every time they hooked to it. I am able to access all other modules & program/modify each one except the BCM. Have checked grounds, power, etc. & can't get scanner to see this one. Any ideas why the BCM would be blocked or not seen?

I am thinking to purchase the Autel since it can do so many things besides the Snap on Versus that seems to be limited. Does the Autel have a lot of bi directional functions?
Yes, the bidirectional controls of the Maxsys tools is very extensive. I have had many Autel owners tell me they could do more tests and special functions with their MaxiSys then with their Snap On tool.
So what about the fact that the odometer then displayed the junk yard's car reading instead of the car's actual reading. Plus the vin isn't programmed into the BCM. The video here shows you setting the BCM up - not programming it.
The Mileage for the vehicle didn't change after this installation. The Milage is not stored in the BCM on this model it is stored in the instrument cluster. This vehicle is not a Global A vehicle so it didn't require the VIN to be written to the module. And you are correct I didn't program the module. I coded it to the PCM and radio
@@FlashPerformance that's interesting. My 07 cobalt definitely stores the mileage in the BCM. When I swapped with a used BCM my 130k mi car suddenly had 259k mi on it. I ended up buying a factory BCM. I will program the mileage and vin plus setup the SDM p/n and BPP. I am installing a new one because I am converting my base model to power windows, door locks, and keyless entry. The original BCM lacks the relays required for lock and unlocking through the BCM. I bought the junkyard BCM to harvest the relays to solder in the original BCM but the original still lacks the logic to control a RAP relay. I enjoy tinkering and making things work like original so it's just a fun project I got myself into. I know I could tap into ignition voltages elsewhere but I'm hopeful I might get remote start out of a new BCM. I'm just not sure if I can program remote start through SPS programming or if it can only be done if the VIN is coded for it. I know GM definitely wouldn't create a special VCI program for a vehicle that doesn't come standard with the proper options so we'll see!
All you did in this video was set up the primary key from the SDM to the BCM and unlock the radio. Also your not coding the PCM to BCM! What are you talking about man? You need to set up RPO codes from the vehicle. Might want to figure out programming before you make videos about it!
Fred Head he programmed the BCM to the ECU other way around he prob replaced the radio and needed the ECU to read it. He never said he flashed the cars main brain ECU

You need a key programming tool to relearn the Immobilizer, The MK808 is not designed for that. There are a few tools you can check out but I don't know their coverage on the Fiat Products. Check out Auto IM100, Autek, Smart Pro, ZedFull, AutoPro Pad

You are talking about the RPO codes, usally they are in the glove box on a sticker

That year range is a mess. I would check the coverage list on Autel.com first. I am not able to say for sure.

This guy in the video didn't reprogram de bcm.you need to log into acdelcodts to get all the reprogramming files for that bcm.
If you want to program the second hand BCM and find out that the software is protected or have password what is the option?

You would need the dealer tool for that one. Kia used to work with J2534, not sure if that is still the case.

I have the MS906bt and would like to code in a new AC/ Heater control on 2009 Enclave. There are no options that I can find that will allow me to do that. Nothing under HVAC or BCM and going to special functions in each area. Any ideas?

@@FlashPerformance KIA claimed only their OBD could program a BCM. As it turns out, by just completely draining the charge from the system, then resetting everything, the system automatically programmed the BCM... worked perfectly! 🙂
Hello, I would appreciate any help if you had a minute please. I have a 2003 H2 Hummer and I cannot find where the BCM is located. If you have any knowledge or videos where it is and how to get to it I would sure appreciate it. my problem is I have the Unknown driver and half of the electronics doesn’t work. Looks like it is above the steering column, find the OBD2 connector and look way up inside the dash from the floor.

Hey, I’m just asking because I’m desperate. I replaced BCM, ECM and still get this “unknown driver “. I have watched hours on TH-cam about this and just cannot seem to find a solution. Just asking if you have any knowledge or if you come across anyone that has dealt with this . When you put driver one or driver 2 it would usually show up now I get unknown driver and like I said Half the electronics don’t work. Thank you !
I found a used one and the PN and Delphi numbers are exact just the * (1T) at the bottom is 2 digits different, does that matter? TIA
How often does your tool recieve ANY updates? My tool does not see any updates happening!
I get updates almost every week. If you follow the Autel Facebook page @auteldiagnostics they post the updates as they come out.

Most electric vehicle manufacturers are still using a 16 Pin OBD2 port. This will give you access to the vehicle systems, from there you can operate the Automatic brake bleed and follow the OR procedure. TOPDON ArtiDiag Pro, any TOPDON Phoenix, Or any Autel MaxiSys can do these operations.
Hi there I have a problem with a 2010 Dodge Gran caravan no charging, I have made sure that the wires from Alt to ECM are good tested them continuity both are good and are able to transport power I can can get a new ECM and reprogram it so is there a way to by-pass the ECM and make a separate charging system or is the Autel Ultracan do a flush? if so could you tell me how. thank you
How does that system work, Does the PCM control the field on the Alternator? I have seen where the PCM driver will go out and cause the vehicle not to charge. Check the wiring diagram for the circuit and see if there is a field wire from the PCM

I am not sure, but I doubt it. Manufacturers consider that a safety feature and they most likely don't have a provision to disable that.

That's a tricky question. On this specific application I would say yes because the DS808 has the ability to set up the SDM for the Body control module. However the DS808 is does not contain the high end coding and initialization that the MaxiSys MS906BT and up have. Can you use this to turn cruise control on in the computer if its currently set to off?
Maybe, depends on what you mean. If you are trying to diagnosis the cruse control you can do different activation to see if it is working properly and to diagnosis the issue. If you are asking, can I add cruise control to one that didn't come from the factory that way, then no. Cruse control is all about inputs. You need to make sure you have all the inputs required.
Can you flash a bcm for a chevy s10 and remove the security? It starts and shuts off
No, the Autel tools can not remove the security features from a vehicle. You might just need to do the key relearn procedure. Those vehicles don't require any special tools to relearn the keys after the BCM has been coded or programmed.

There are a lot of other things I would recommend checking before replacing the BCM. Start by using alldatadiy.com and purchasing the wiring diagrams. Each light has its own fuse, start there. Then bypass the relay and see if the light comes on. Then I would use a scan tool to command the BCM to turn on the lights and see if you get a ground signal.

I need to tell my 2010 Ford Escape's BCM to recognize a new FoMoCo headlights switch with my retrofit of Fog Lights on my vehicle that was not included in my XLS model but was with the XLT model. And I also want to add FoMoCo steering wheel mounted switches for controlling the stereo and smartphone interface. Basically I want to add all BCM options in the Escape XLT to my Escape XLS. What your asking for is not an easy process. You will need to go to Ford directly and let them know the components that you have changed and what function you want to add to your Escape. They will have to change the As Built Data at the engineering level for your specific vehicle VIN. Once that has been done you will have to use a J2534 box and ford specific software with a windows PC. I had issues when I replaced mine to. It turns out their are multiple versions of the same body control module. You will need to find one with the same Part Number and calibration. Once you get the right PN and Calibration you will most likely need to program the BCM with a Tech 2 or J2534 box. From OE information:
BCM Programming
Important: Use extreme care when verifying both the VIN and Odometer reading that is set in the service BCM. Once the VIN and Odometer are set in the replacement BCM it is impossible to change them, and if there is a mismatch, the part will be rendered useless.
To setup a new replacement BCM select Vehicle Control Systems, then navigate to Computer/Integrating Systems, once in the Computer/Integrating Systems menu select Module Replacement/Setup and follow the instructions on the scan tool. After the setup procedure it is necessary to perform the Remote Start setup procedure and brake pedal position (BPP) Sensor Calibration procedure. Refer to the Importants below for further information.
If the BCM fails to accept the program, perform the following steps:
* Inspect all BCM connections.
* Verify that the scan tool has the latest software version.
the used one that i got had the same part numbers but the those light keep lighting up so i ended up geting a new one from the dealer then i use the autel to program it everything went back to normal. all the light when out and the original miles came back.

Coding is the handshake between the two modules. It lets them talk to each other. If you don't they will not be able to exchange commands.
Are there less expensive units that can do it?

The MK808 is a service tool that can read and clear codes in all modules. You will need a higher level scan tool to do those functions.
Am I missing something? Your video comment says that you replaced a Cobalt BCM from a junkyard and that the video will show how to code the BCM to the PCM. The Cobalt and the Solstice actually have a lot in common. I bought an identical used BCM on ebay. If you find a used BCM with the same part number, yes. If it is a new BCM you may need to program it with J2534

ANYONE ? 2012 Camaro Conv. RS V6. I bought this car after a flood. Have installed new modules where needed and have replaced the BCM and cannot access it with my scanner. All modules are accessible thru the scanner & can program them. When I try to go into BCM it comes back with "unit is not installed in car" . I put the old unit in & same thing. BCM has to be working as car starts, all ac & gauge functions work, etc. There are a few things that don't work thus the new unit. The new unit was originally programmed by the dealer but they had trouble accessing it also. As it cost to much to carry the car to them to check each item I bought my own scanner/programmer to troubleshoot with eliminating $110 every time they hooked to it. I am able to access all other modules & program/modify each one except the BCM. Have checked grounds, power, etc. & can't get scanner to see this one. Any ideas why the BCM would be blocked or not seen?
Check all your fuses and relays, and maybe grounds, not sure where they would be for that

No, This tool will not do what you are wanting to accomplish. You will need to use HP Tuners or something similar.

I am thinking to purchase the Autel since it can do so many things besides the Snap on Versus that seems to be limited. Does the Autel have a lot of bi directional functions?
Yes, the bidirectional controls of the Maxsys tools is very extensive. I have had many Autel owners tell me they could do more tests and special functions with their MaxiSys then with their Snap On tool.
So what about the fact that the odometer then displayed the junk yard's car reading instead of the car's actual reading. Plus the vin isn't programmed into the BCM. The video here shows you setting the BCM up - not programming it.
The Mileage for the vehicle didn't change after this installation. The Milage is not stored in the BCM on this model it is stored in the instrument cluster. This vehicle is not a Global A vehicle so it didn't require the VIN to be written to the module. And you are correct I didn't program the module. I coded it to the PCM and radio
@@FlashPerformance that's interesting. My 07 cobalt definitely stores the mileage in the BCM. When I swapped with a used BCM my 130k mi car suddenly had 259k mi on it. I ended up buying a factory BCM. I will program the mileage and vin plus setup the SDM p/n and BPP. I am installing a new one because I am converting my base model to power windows, door locks, and keyless entry. The original BCM lacks the relays required for lock and unlocking through the BCM. I bought the junkyard BCM to harvest the relays to solder in the original BCM but the original still lacks the logic to control a RAP relay. I enjoy tinkering and making things work like original so it's just a fun project I got myself into. I know I could tap into ignition voltages elsewhere but I'm hopeful I might get remote start out of a new BCM. I'm just not sure if I can program remote start through SPS programming or if it can only be done if the VIN is coded for it. I know GM definitely wouldn't create a special VCI program for a vehicle that doesn't come standard with the proper options so we'll see!
All you did in this video was set up the primary key from the SDM to the BCM and unlock the radio. Also your not coding the PCM to BCM! What are you talking about man? You need to set up RPO codes from the vehicle. Might want to figure out programming before you make videos about it!
Fred Head he programmed the BCM to the ECU other way around he prob replaced the radio and needed the ECU to read it. He never said he flashed the cars main brain ECU
He didn't even relearn the sdm part number, the screen said the numbers already matched and did not need to be done. That was a waste of 3 mins

You need a key programming tool to relearn the Immobilizer, The MK808 is not designed for that. There are a few tools you can check out but I don't know their coverage on the Fiat Products. Check out Auto IM100, Autek, Smart Pro, ZedFull, AutoPro Pad
