Watch a full tutorial as a 2008 Nissan Rogue will have a brand new Pioneer AVH-X2700BS Double Din Touch Screen Radio installed. Note that this Rogue has Nissan's Premium Audio System which uses BOSE components. We will be a Metra Wiring Harness Adapter made for BOSE units, retaining all factory BOSE speakers, sub, and amplifier. In addition, this install requires an antenna adapter, steering wheel control adapter, and a Pioneer parking brake bypass.
In addition, we will be installing a License Plate Backup Camera.

Great video. Thanks for pointing out the green wire by the door to activate reverse in the radio. Please note that it is not a solid green wire. It does, in fact, have a stripe on it. That was visible in the video!! Saved me a lot of time!!

Great video!. I don't want to drill any holes on my 08 altima. I saw the factory hole for the keyless trunk release button and figured the camera wiring would fit through. This is the first video to confirm my suspicion. Excellent job on the install.

The new radio comes with two or four wires you have to connect to the harness of the car and then reprogram all the buttons on the radio👍

Hi, you said hook the red and grey wire from the ASWC to the white wire on the vehicle harness. What if there isn't a white wire to connect to? Is there another wire I can connect? I'm using the harness that's in your video description.
Great video thanks for that it's a lot of help, I have a question i'm about to buy a similar unit it's a Pumpkin 7'' Double Din and was wondering if this will fit in a 08 Rogue, if you can help with that it would be great, and also how much would I be expecting to pay for professional installation of this unit and it also comes with a backup camera.
+shady felly If it is a standard double din, all double dins are commonly 4" tall. Regardless of the screen size, if the casing of the radio is a standard double din, it will fit. Secondly, you get what you pay for for installation. There will always be the cheaper option, but it is not always the best option. For a radio install from a reputable company, you can expect to pay 50-100 bucks for a radio install and possibly 25-50 for a back up camera install. Totally depends on the business and location.

I don't, but the best way to go through the fire wall would be through the factory grommet, where the wiring goes through the wall on the driver's side. Just poke a small hole and feed the wire through.

Hey, fellow installer here. So I have a 2012 Rouge with bose. Can I use a Crux SWRNS-63U with the Metra Bose RCA harness? OR will I need to use the ASWC-1 instead?
I have a 2008 Nissan rogue with bose sound my aftermarket wiring harness with rca's. The white plug is not clinking into the factory wiring harness all the way. Did yours snap into place? My unit is not getting power to it. The wiring is solid double checked with a multimeter. I didn't realize the antenna adopter has a blue wire with it maybe that's why its not powering up or i have a bad ground

The radios dont come with the dash kit but amazon has a kit that has the dash board piece, the radio mount and the wire kit for like 30 bucks

Great video. I went looking for answers on the steering wheel control adapter, and I found my answer for the back up cam, instead. So, let me see if I understand what you did. From that purple/white "reverse" wire, coming from back of radio, I will need to connect that to the back up light wire from the car? From what I see, you just used leftover wire from the light green parking brake wire, right? Then you just connected that to the purple/white, ran it under steering wheel.
I do have the diagram for the Mazda 6 kick panel, and that's where the backup light is...more or less the same location as the Nissan you're working with. Hopefully, I understood this correctly. Thanks again for your video where you actually go into great detail about the wiring!!!
You got it. Yep, the parking brake wire from Pioneer was very long, so i cut it since i was using the bypass anyways, and used that extra wire to connect the purple / white wire to the reverse gear wire (tail light power wire) which will cycle the unit to camera mode when in reverse.

Why wouldn't you hook up the hands free phone controls on the steering wheel? That would give you access to the built in mic so you wouldn't have to run a secondary for bluetooth right?
Hands free phone controls were of the left hand side of the steering wheel, and those buttons were retained. The factory mic is on an amplified circuit, so without extensive modification, it cannot be retained.
I notice you have the Bose version too. On the Metra wiring harness, what did you connect the blue/white "Amp Turn on" wire to? My screen/radio doesn't have a blue/white wire to match it to. Also, did you have to use a Speaker Level Converter bc of the Bose Amp? Thanks for your help!
+TheJ2effect The Bose system with Nissan includes its own factory amp located in the car, installed by Nissan. In order to retain that amp to work with the aftermarket radio, the metra kit I used is needed. The bose amp requires a "low level" signal via the RCA cables white, gray, purple, and green. I capped off the speaker wire outputs from the radio because those are "high level" outputs, not compatible for the factory bose amp. On the metra wiring harness, it includes those rca cables. As for the "speaker level converter" you were talking about, no, i just used the rca outputs on the radio to provide the signal for the bose amp. If your new radio doesn't include a blue / white wire in it's spcific harness, it's ok, there is a way around it. That wire is used as an "amp turn on" wire or a "remote" wire, typically used to trigger on external amps when the radio turns on. Since you don't have that available, i suggest to connect the metra blue / white wire into the red wire which is the ignition, just to ensure that when the key is turned on, the factory bose amp will turn on with it. Hope this all makes sense.
+TheJ2effect at 3:17, shows the capped off new radio speaker wires. 3:24 shows the rca's i'll use instead that lead to the factory bose amp. the metra wiring kit rca's just plug into your new radio to provide the ]signal needed.
+Provo Beast Thanks for the quick reply. I tried wiring it up that way and while it worked, the back speakers did not work. Even though the afterarket radio has rca outputs for the front and back speakers, I'm guessing the ones for the back are not TRUE RCA outputs (i.e. it's really only 2 channel). Thanks for the advice, that helps me out a lot.
+TheJ2effect try putting RCA Y splitters on the front channel RCA outputs on the radio to provide a four channel output for the metro wiring kit. That should fix not having rear speaker sound.
+Christopher Teerlink that will allow all 4 RCA plugs on the metro wiring harness to plug in the front RCA outputs on the radio. Hope this helps too
I'm having trouble getting the power to the radio on and i can't find the black ground wire.
You will need to ground your radio to have it turn on, and your nissan may not have a ground wire in the main harness. So just add a ring terminal, and ground it to metal in the dash.

It's 2020 what brand is the best upgrade to put in a 2008 nissan rogue SL as far as upgrading the stock system? Also which back up camera brand for this car too? I can't get a new car but i would like up to date features!
2008 was the production year of the Rogue but it came out as a 2009. I have a 09 Nissan Rogue SL with the black leather with the horrible Bose premium audio system it sucks 💀

It will vary slightly for a 2015. Check with Sonic Electronix to know what installation parts are needed for your rogue. Use coupon code ProvoBeast for 5% off parts. AC should work fine.

Yes and faceplate? Do you mean the dash kit? If so, no, you have to buy it separately.
hey i have the same radio and i installed a back up camera dont know if its the same one as yours but in order for the back up camera to work i have to manually select av then the backup camera work even when i go into reverse ir doesnr go on bu itself
Be sure you have a radio that has a back up camera input. Sounds like you installed the camera input into your general AV input on the radio. The input on this radio for a camera is a brown RCA input.

I already match the yellow, red, blue striped white, and black together just this orange one is free?
Orange is either your illumination wire or your dimmer, depending on the harness. it would be fine to connect those. Typically illumination is orange and dimmer is orange and white. It just dims your screen when the headlights are turned on.

today i install my camera this way. the yellow rca from camera to radio camera input and the power cable on the rca to the reverse from the radio. in the back where the camera power in my car the reverser light wire are green and grey green is positive and grey is negative i connect the positive from rca and from the camera to the green and the black wich is negative to the grey wire and when i check to see if it work i didnot get no image on my pionner avh3800bhs
+pepo la guira from what I can understand, if you have a multi meter or test light, check to see if you have a 12v current while in reverse to the reverse input wire on the radio and also if the camera is getting power. Start there. Second, check to make sure the radio cycle's over to the reverse image when the vehicle is in reverse. If it doesn't, then make sure the back up camera function is turned on in the settings and also make sure that the reverse gear wire to the radio is connected to the reverse light wire correctly.
yea you were right i fixed it now the only problem is camera view option keeps turning of when i shut off the car i have yo manually select it on every time i start the car
Be sure your radio has the reverse gear trigger wire connect to the car's reverse wire. Secondly, in the radio system settings, be sure you select reverse camera input as Battery or + and save the settings.
Can you explain the reverse gear trigger wire? I simply have my camera powered by the reverse lights, and the video cable plugged into the back of the head unit (brown rca input). Having the same issue as abraham balmir. thank you.

Your radio needs to know when you are in reverse. Typically your new radio has a "reversed gear wire" or trigger wire: a wire that needs to be connected into your vehicle's reverse wire so that your radio will cycle over to the reverse mode when you are backing up.
Provo Beast Audio Installation Thanks. Found the trigger wire. Hooked that up to the red wire that's part of the rca cable. In the trunk I took the red wire that's part of the rca cable, and the camera power wire, and wired all of that to the power wire on the reverse light. Success.
The reverse line is not the solid green. It's the green with the silver specks on it. Solid green is something else.
The reverse wire is Purple white, however on this video, we used similar wire we had left over to extend the purple and white wire for the reverse gear wire. Generally light green is the parking brake wire which we bypassed anyways in the video as well.

This radio has been discontinued for years, and the dash kit we linked in the description can accommodate any standard double din radio (some no-name brand chinese radios don't work). Send us a message and we can send you the links to what you specifically need.

I have a 2010 xtrail. I wired the factory camera to the Pioneer avhx2800bs. But the image i am getting is much smaller than the orginal image. I am no longer getting a wide view. I tried to change the settings on the headunit but to no avail. Some of the settings are greyed out. Please assist.
I would refer you to the manual that came with the Pioneer. Unfortunately, when integrating the factory back up camera to the aftermarket radio, you may loose some of the field of vision. Sorry, not much help.

Are you able to control the subwafer attached to the spare tire using the aftermarket unit?
The factory Bose subwoofer? All you will be able to do is adjust the equalizer which will adjust the bass to the factory subwoofer. There is no separate sub adjustment for the factory Bose sub.

If you have Bose, you have to connect the blue / white wire to your radio and harness adapter to trigger the Bose amp to turn on.

QUESTION: I installed a camera that i cant get to work. i did the video feed from camera to my head unit and ground and power to reverse light and ground but the camera doesnt come on. so i noticed i had a reverse trigger wire also do i need to use that some how to get it to work?
+Messersmith7 Yes, on the radio, there will be a reverse trigger wire that you need to connect to the reverse wire within the vehicle, the same wire that becomes hot when the car is put in reverse. this is what cycles over the radio to show what the camera captures.

x2700 has been replaced three times already, once by the x2800, again by the 1300nex, and again by the 1400nex. If you want the x2700, you probably will have to source one second hand or check ebay as they have been discontinued for quite some time. With the dash kit we used, any standard double din will fit.

+Weslling Jean Gilles It may need an additional harness to accommodate the factory back up camera. I suggest checking crutchfield for necessary parts to retain the reverse camera input. All other parts will still work if you have the amplified Rogue. If you don't, you will need the non amplified harness which also can be found online.

+RL Work the cover off with a flat head screw driver which exposes the 10mm bolt. I am assuming you are talking about the anchor point on the rear panel?

I have the same stock radio in my 2012 altima. Do you know if a deck bigger than 6.2 would fit?
Well, the 6.2" is the screen size diagonally, not the actual size of the radio. This radio is a double din, or 4" tall. All standard double din radios are 4" tall, so yes, you can find double din radio's with bigger screens, and as long as they are the standard double din size, they will fit.

Nope, they both require a 12v current when in the reverse gear.

actual the sounds is there but very low. On Pioneer i have to max and still the speakers have a low sound :(
You may have the bose amp, and it's not booting up with the new radio. Be sure your radio's blue/white wire is connected into the blue or blue/white wire of the harness adapter.

If the volume is too low and you are using that RCA harness, then you don't have the BOSE system and you need the non-amplified harness which is the Metra 70-7553.
