@@tavakessler there is also quite a bit of State Park land (no drones) near Jakes, all of Emerald Bay and the surrounding land basically, and an airport zone near Tallac. Tahoe is a very tricky place for drones, and the controller app shouldn't be relied upon alone to keep your flight legal. People break the drone laws here all the time, whether out of honest ignorance or something worse.
The wilderness boundary is closer to the highway than it is on all three of those peaks. I recommend using mapping app that shows private and public land boundaries, including wilderness boundaries, like onX backcountry or Gaia. I’d share a screenshot of the boundary here with you if I could. You definitely illegally flew on Jake’s and Tallac for sure.
