I was a Senior Patroller at Kirkwood from when it opened to when Vail "Resorts" bought it and booted us NSPS guys off the hill. One weekend a bunch of us crashed at one of our members' cabins (Friday night), had an 8AM call to be on slope Saturday. Overnight, it snowed 4 feet! Needless to say, we were all a little late making time.....
Thank you Andreas! Looking to film a few more like this this season as well. Yeah each zone has its own uniqueness to them. Definitely makes it a favorite zone to hit.
Thats what I would call crazy skill set, insane skiing, looks pretty fun and very fast with steep mountains, looks nice over there best regards from arctic north in Norway
So glad you’ve started this channel! Great day out there. Zone 3 my fav. :) Curious what was the total vert you guys climbed? Look like some decent descents. Ready for next adventuro
Ya zone 3 is one of my favorite zones for sure! I think we hiked 3-3.5k and skied 4.5k. Roughly. But I haven’t ever tracked that route so I’m not quite sure
In mid winter I try to ski with an airbag everyday in the backcountry. The exception would be if the route is too long and I need to save weight or need the extra space in the pack for more gear. In the spring I rarely ski with an airbag in Tahoe. We get spoiled in the Sierra with a forgiving snowpack so in spring conditions typically the main safety concern isn’t avalanches. It’s also when we tend to do bigger days so it’s nice to save some weight.
@@morganjoel7937 Yeah of course. We both currently run the Thule Upslope 35 with the Mammut removable airbag system. We're going to do a full gear rundown as we get closer to starting things up again for the winter.
On a scale of 1-10, how good was the sandwich? The people want to know!
As far as sandwiches go I’d say 9/10. Because it was out in the backcountry and I didn’t have to make it probably a 12/10

So rad! Each line was sick in its own way, and the cinematography was fantastic. Great job collecting memories.

Much appreciated! Also fun out here in the mountains! Hopefully some great adventures are ahead for you!
@@TheLostBoys1 so dope how you ski im far away from that skill haha
@@ArcticNorthAdventures Thank you! We started at a young age but like with all things, it just takes practice.
I know the exact spot🤫 I have a cabin right across the lake. Can't wait for winter to do some Backcountry skiing there!
Also I might be wrong but i think Zone 3 is illegal to ski because it is just above a highway.
It's a great place! Very jealous of your cabin out there.
@@Iamnikolopez It's north of the highway a little ways so it's in the clear
Nice one dudes! Classic zones 🤟
Thanks Grant! Such a great little area to rip!
Thanks Grant! You just can’t beat the classics. They always seem to deliver

Thanks! It definitely was a great day out there. We didn’t record it but I’d say around 2500’ between all 3, maybe a little more.

Our thoughts exactly!
Oh ya! Zone 3 has the goods! Best tree skiing around
Looks great, nice filming, even a drone?
Thanks! Yup. We use all the tools to shoot.
Do you guys ski with airbags most often? Or do you use airbags for certain days / conditions vs. others?

@@TheLostBoys1 Awesome, thanks for the perspective. What airbag pack do you mainly use?
