Oh man double the uploads for October! Also I totally agree with your conclusion. Having seen the remake in theaters and then going back and watching the original, the original is vastly superior. While I’m glad it managed to give us another brilliant performance from Mcavoy, the remake ultimately feels pointless.
I think the Remake wants to put more of an emphasis on the other side of the Coin,or the Villians of the story. Both the Original and the remake do a very good job at showing how Messed up it is to be completely passive and non-confrontational and have no boundaries and where that can lead you. But the remake makes a better job highlighting how sadistic it is to be actively confrontational. Be aggressive, actively push boundaries for no reason and create problems where there was none.
I reeally really reallly disliked the original one. Kinda suprised why so many liked it. I love movies. I'm also very critical and I really really hate bad logic in movies. The oiginal one was unlogic. Very unlogic. I know people are like that in the original but at some point you need to do something, it becomes instinct. I think the remake made more sense. Not perfect but James Mcavoy made the movie so much better with the rest of the cast
