I agree with you! This movie was his best in a very long time. I don't get why everyone hates on it. The ending even surprised me how they found out he would be at the concert. Josh Harnett killed the role. And M Night daughter was good. I don't care what anyone says. I listened to her music and she's actually good. Better then most crap out there.
HELL YA ! Good to see someone that loves this movie as much as I adore it ! This is one of the best of Night's (since Split imo). This movie is so fresh, so new and so classic, lika an hitchcokian movie. Very tense, with amazing chirurgical mise en scène with incredible performances (for Hartnett and the actress who play Riley). I thinks the plot is amazing and the story is very twisted (it blends several genres, comedy, thriller, horror, and music pop concert). This movie was so incredible. I love it !
In fact, many reviewers who watched the film closely rated it good or even excellent. Saleka was great. Songs was great. Hartnett was brilliant. Funny, tense and psychological Trap was beutifully shot.
Trap is pretty great. And everyone is right to praise the soundtrack. That was very much a real concert. If I had to dislike something, it'd be the last ten seconds.
The cops are just standing around while he says oops I got to pick up my kids bike. I mean, it’s hilarious from start to finish. And M Knight TELLS us it’s going to be out of the box in the trailers! We know who the Butcher is! He’s trapped in a humongous pop concert while a billion SWAT teams drive in to find him! The only thing to top that is if they rode in on tanks. Maybe M Knight overestimated his audience’s attention span. Anyway, we saw the movie twice it was so much fun. And Josh Hartnett killed that role with just the shifting of his eyes and facial expressions. 4*
This is exactly why I don't watch movie trailers anymore! I randomly decided to watch a movie with my friend and we watched Trap not having a clue what it was about. The moment I realised the dad was the serial killer was so enjoyable.
I liked Saleka's songs in the film and I liked her acting. This is one of the best parts of the film. In the film, the musician takes a more active role in the second half of the film and does not look like a stereotypical arrogant star. This is refreshing precisely because the rhythm in the first half is quite flat and after an hour of watching, you definitely want some changes in the plot. And they happen. I am sincerely happy about her concert in the film and I think that Saleka looks very harmonious in the film - like a very popular and at the same time kind pop star. When I saw in the credits that this is, apparently, the director's daughter, I was sincerely happy for both of them. It is happiness for any father to see his daughter in a wonderful role on screen, singing good songs and helping other people in the film. I would like to recommend this film to those who have not seen it yet. Also I would be happy to see all the songs from the film entirely on TH-cam (not just parts of the songs; not just songs, but from the film).
I went to cinema hoping to see It Ends With Us mostly because of the hype. It was sold out so we went to see Trap instead. It was amazing. The fact that it was not filled with Hollywood stars made it way more believable. Still havent seen the Blake Lively one and dont really want to.
could you explain to me why he decided to reveal himself to lady raven so easily ? that's the only point in the story that didnt make any sense to me .
Why so we can hear another take around “no loving mother would do this “ or “the police would never do that” , “they’d never let him do that”..? “This film is nepotism” “limo scene was unbelievable “ yada yada yada.. Individuals like yourself & Leach have clearly never invested time into Hitchcockian thrillers where plausibility concerns are a buzz kill.
@@alanndrake2619 Yeah, cause that’s bad writing. For one, Lady Raven is supposed to be Taylor Swift-level but had ZERO security. And why the hell does every random employee at this concert know that this is a trap for a serial killer? And why the hell would the guy who’s selling the shirts tell him that the concert is a trap for the serial killer when he’s talking to the guy who matches the description of the killer? I know he doesn’t know, but still, why would you tell a random person you just met that it’s a trap when, for all you know, he could be the killer? There are way too many plot conveniences in this movie. One or two are fine, but there are way too many for me to ignore because then it just becomes bad writing. Why the fuck would Cooper tell Lady Raven who he was? Even if there were police outside that would question him, he would have better chances with them than literally just telling a pop star you are the killer. He was in the clear until this point. And the wife knows that her husband is the butcher, and she lets her daughter go to the concert with him with an FBI agent surrounding it. But she could have called them to come to her house.

Actually after the third viewing and noticing all the psychological details in Trap it is in my Top 5 M.Night movies)

I watched "Old" again a couple of days ago. Acting was not great. But the film was amazing. He is a high concept writer and director.
I liked it. Love the closing credits scene, not to give anything away...😂
I’m going to see this tonight! Hope it delivers something for me.
i thot it was a great movie regardless if hes just trynna promote his daughters music. th emovie had alot of twists and was unpredictable

I loved the movie. Saw it twice.
Saw it three times because took all his friends to see it. Everyone liked it. Apparently they don’t have absent-mindedness disorder.
I really enjoyed this movie! Was much better than Old or Knock at the cabin! A solid 7 out of 10.
Gente esse filme não é bom.. ELE É >>PERFEITO
Movie was great. Got a bit weird second half. Ended well. Great music!

I think 4 stars is generous 1.5 sounds about right
Nope, 4 stars is deservedly)
Hubby and I gave it 4* too. Once we caught on it was a parody of serial killer movies we saw it again. Hartnett killed that role!
No.
Are you high ?
Seriously dude? Trap really was not good so many issues with the writing. Watch Cody Leach’s review.
it's his opinion.
