Jason Vong make a tutorial about how to shoot with a gimbal for a planned shot which you are going to speed ramp in the post production. Seems tricky to me.
Gone from a total noob to average in 3 months. Picked up an A7Rii and now shooting weddings and corporate. I love it. Watched tons of youtube and you are the standout. Keep it real and bring your sense of humour more! Killing it bro :)
Thank you so much. I checked so many videos about gimbal mode and focussing and most of them are not telling you what you thought here. It is very precise and detailed. Thanks much
lol asked a friend to watch this vid and he took like 30 mins, asked him why so long he said he had to click on the other vids that you linked to watch them first and then finish this. lol. point being he learnt a lot more and that's a good thing. great job with these vids Jason! helps the noobs learn and understand the basics of filming a scene!!!
thanks for this video jason! this would really help me. i suggest you do another video on how and when to use metering modes. it sometimes confuses me what is the best metering mode for certain situations.
Thank You, I have followed you ever since I purchased my Sony A6400. I have only one lens, the Sony 18-105 F4. I am thinking about getting the crane plus but I am wondering how one can use the zoom function when utilizing the crane?
@JasonVong man your review was incredible! This is easily the best review of the crane plus that I’ve seen. I learned so much by watching and I will definitely be applying your teachings as well as techniques. You now have a subscriber and supporter in me for life now man. ✊🏽
Amazing video! Jason, with so many people switching Sony (including me), perhaps you can do a complete tutorial with the Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras? I have heard that Sony's menu system sucks and I'm sure me and other newcomers to Sony system will appreciate you teaching us how to operate the Sony system!
Have you tried your Sigma 16mm f1.4 with the gimbal? Wondering how well the autofocus works with that. Would also be nice to see a tutorial on the 'moving timelapse' for the Crane Plus.
Jason I really found this vid helpful. I'm thinking about getting into video work and your videos are very precise. Not sure if you have already done this, but can you do a quick tutorial on your work flow and set up when creating your TH-cam content. Thanks in advance.
Excellent video. Very informative and useful. I have a Sony A7 III on pre-order and am considering getting a gimbal for video. My biggest concern with the Zhiyun Crane Plus is that it is not angled to provide unobstructed view of the camera screen. Do you find that a handicap and if so, would you recommend one of the other gimbals that are angled?
I just picked up this case. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1279591-REG/hprc_alp2460_01_hprc_2460_for_sony.html . I wanted some place to store all my lenses and accessories. Plus nice to probably travel with if I want all my gear. Figured show you if you never seen it at B&H.
For the first time I wished I had a little more time to process all the information in the video. Damn! Great content. Will have to watch again and again.
Very informative! What kind of focus setting do you recommend if you're following someone around on the street while their interviewing people? (A7iii on gimbal)
Thanks Jason been learning a lot of stuffs from your videos. Kudos! Keep making videos for sony a7iii if there's a hidden feature or what you persinally used and crane plus with your techniques andI hope you will also make a video on how to use the adobe Premiere in a effective way. your awesome!
Great video Jason! When you want put your crane back in to the box, are crane side and bottom arms hitting? Dont know how solve this issue :( bag is useless in this case
Hi, nice tutorial. Just one question. Is'nt this crane totally useless with the A6300 when shooting 4K without a external monitor. Because you hardly can see what you are doing on the viewfinder
Solid video! I was just trying to figure these out recently and now I know. Also every time I see your Disney footage, I have to fight myself on getting the pass still!
Extremely entertaining and informative...great video! Question: how do you get your focus area to turn yellow, mine just stays gray and hard to see. Thanks, Jason!
Very informative! I’m just holding out for the DJI Ronin S to compare these two. I really like the POV feature not sure if they will have that. We met at Sammy’s for the Sony event BTW. Still waiting on my A7lll...
Quick question please? If I'd use the a6300 and I would want to quickly shift the focus from, let's say a person's face, to the background while walking with a gimbal, how would I try to achieve that? Since the camera does not have a touchscreen like the a6500, I need to know if this quick shift is possibly on a gimbal without that? Thanks for the video 🖒.
How do you balance your Sony on the Crane? I can't seem to get it to work. Also, do all the lenses you list work on the gimbal? The 16-35mm seems to be too heavy...
Very nice tutorial. One tutorial I might suggest, is manual focusing when using a gimbal. Not everyone uses a camera with decent autofocus (like myself; I use a Blackmagic camera, and the autofocus on that is not very good - although otherwise it's an excellent camera).
Great video! Thanks! Going to Utah this weekend taking my my a7riii with my Sony 24 to 105 lens and my zhiyun crane2. Taking my phantom pro to. Hoping to get shots with my crane and camera and a few drone shots .thanks for the video!
Years ago I got an idea about tracking focus on moving person when using manual focus lens. I was thinking about using distance sensor where it beep a sound when the camera is away from the preset distance. But when camera introduced focus peaking, I drop that idea 😊 Do you have any tips on above case?
Hi Jason. Considering that I will use most of te time the AF in Sony a7lll, I think that the important thing is to have digital communication between the gimbal and the camera to manage speed, aperture and ISO. Does the ZCrane 2 and the cable provided allow this comunication for Sony or not? Thank in advance for your excellent videos!

Hello what lens are u using on 1:59 ?
Gone from a total noob to average in 3 months. Picked up an A7Rii and now shooting weddings and corporate. I love it. Watched tons of youtube and you are the standout. Keep it real and bring your sense of humour more! Killing it bro :)
Can't wait to try these techniques this weekend - AF has been an enemy of mine when attempting complex gimbal movements! Thanks a lot for the info :)
Just wanted to say that this video was super helpful and one of the few tutorials that shows what is happening on the camera screen.
Thank you so much. I checked so many videos about gimbal mode and focussing and most of them are not telling you what you thought here. It is very precise and detailed. Thanks much
Dang bro....slider shot like a boss!
That form though lol
lol asked a friend to watch this vid and he took like 30 mins, asked him why so long he said he had to click on the other vids that you linked to watch them first and then finish this. lol. point being he learnt a lot more and that's a good thing. great job with these vids Jason! helps the noobs learn and understand the basics of filming a scene!!!

Excellent video! Such solid B roll and explanations going on.
Great video Jason. Because of you, I purchased the Crane Plus and I love it. Please keep making videos like this one.
Very well made video, super well explained and doesn't waste your time! Wish there were more like you.
Thanks Daniel, that means a lot!
thanks for this video jason! this would really help me. i suggest you do another video on how and when to use metering modes. it sometimes confuses me what is the best metering mode for certain situations.
Best gimbal movements tutorial ever watched ,do more please
I think I found my favorite new channel! Thanks, Jason!
This is gold! Thanks man!
I'm looking to get a gimbal so good to know all these techniques. Thanks for sharing!!
Great information! Not really focus related, but do you ever use Zhiyun's object tracking when doing orbits, passing a subject, etc?
Jason, can you make full review of crane plus in depth with zhy play app and settings you use.
Now all I need is a camera and a gimbal
And..... a lens.
ALL I NEED IS MONEY AND A GIRL
Another great content from the great Jason Vong! Thank you for the tips and tricks man. Will be using them on my wedding gigs.
Thank You, I have followed you ever since I purchased my Sony A6400. I have only one lens, the Sony 18-105 F4. I am thinking about getting the crane plus but I am wondering how one can use the zoom function when utilizing the crane?
Super helpful video. Was having some autofocus issues with real estate shoots. Thanks Jason!
Great Video! Does the focus area needs to be yellow to make sure its focused? Thanks!
@JasonVong man your review was incredible! This is easily the best review of the crane plus that I’ve seen. I learned so much by watching and I will definitely be applying your teachings as well as techniques. You now have a subscriber and supporter in me for life now man. ✊🏽
Welcome to the channel, Chris!!
This is fantastic, just what I needed to get started with my a7iii and new gimbal setup!
Spot on man. Great tips!
Thanks, you've made me want an a7 even more now! Upgrading from a d3300 so very much looking forward to it.
Great tutorial. And great cameos by other TH-cam photographers I follow
Thank you so much for this video! I've bookmarked it and have watched it already several times. Good stuff!
These tips are amazing! I'm definitely going to have to practice these a lot.

Grrat video. Just want to know what lens you are using. Thanks
Great information, Jason very clear and concise. Thanks for taking the time.
Great Video Jason!
thanks so much man. I have watched all your video and learnt a lot from it...
You're the one, man! You master it all.
Man so much information. I need to take notes. Great stuff.
Excellent video tutorial. Keep up the good work and thank you
Great tutorial Jason! What do you think about the Nikon Z6 for the Crane 2? Thanks !
That was really informative Jason. Great job.
Hi, very informative thanks. How much find you annoying the gimbal covers the lcd?
Really useful clip Jason, clearly explained. Thanks for posting.
Hey, great video. Just bought my first gimbal! What video settings are you using i.e. slow-mo 120fps or? Cheers!
One of your best vids!
Have you tried your Sigma 16mm f1.4 with the gimbal? Wondering how well the autofocus works with that.
Would also be nice to see a tutorial on the 'moving timelapse' for the Crane Plus.
Jason I'm considering the crane plus. I use all the same gear you do. Question is the Ronin S, should I wait for it. Plus or minus to either one.
Love the video very creative can you please make a video on time lapses
Jason I really found this vid helpful. I'm thinking about getting into video work and your videos are very precise. Not sure if you have already done this, but can you do a quick tutorial on your work flow and set up when creating your TH-cam content. Thanks in advance.
Awesome. Thank you! Do you recommend Continuous AF or which mode? I have the tendency to hold focus button to ensure it's always focused..
Thank you Jason. Keep up the good work

great vid mate... will be referencing this many times when I get my gimbal.
Great Video, Thank you! I'm headed to Europe next month, would you recommend taking the case with the Crane 2 Gimbal? Its huge
That was MONEY Jason V!!!!
I just picked up this case. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1279591-REG/hprc_alp2460_01_hprc_2460_for_sony.html . I wanted some place to store all my lenses and accessories. Plus nice to probably travel with if I want all my gear. Figured show you if you never seen it at B&H.
How do you record the screen of your camera ?
This is a great video, very informative and easy to follow. Glad you used and showed examples.
Very helpful Jason; thank you for all the detail.
For the first time I wished I had a little more time to process all the information in the video. Damn! Great content. Will have to watch again and again.

A wanna see a hyper lapse tutorial on the Gimbal with Sony camera..
I will do it. I bought my a7iii yesterday, I am very excited about it
The real OG! 🙌🏼
Also every time I see your Disney footage, I have to fight myself on getting the pass still!
would it help if i said... DISNEY SONY MEETUP!!!???
Jason Vong without hesitation I’d pick up a pass. Just make it a day I’m free lol
Great tutorial, thank you! Does "pan follow" mode correspond to "yaw follow" more of Moza Aircross, or is it different?
Excellent video, Jason. Really informative. Looking forward to more!
Awesome Vid! what profile and lens did you use for the walking voice over part?
I can't thank you enough for this video. Huge help to me! Thanks So Much!
this is full packaged very helpful
Extremely entertaining and informative...great video! Question: how do you get your focus area to turn yellow, mine just stays gray and hard to see. Thanks, Jason!
Amazing video! Very nice techniques!
Great vid once again. Actually no AWESOME VID. One of your many best.
Very informative! I’m just holding out for the DJI Ronin S to compare these two. I really like the POV feature not sure if they will have that. We met at Sammy’s for the Sony event BTW. Still waiting on my A7lll...
Now this is one high quality video!

You nailed this video dude. Keep the karate moves up!
Haha thanks Lee!
Nice! Jason, which gimbal do you recommend now, nov 2018?
Great tips. Thanks Jason 👍🏻
I have a question about hybrid shooting, can you take photos while having a gimbal attached or do you have to handle video handheld to do both?
How do you balance your Sony on the Crane? I can't seem to get it to work. Also, do all the lenses you list work on the gimbal? The 16-35mm seems to be too heavy...
This is awesome! Thanks again, man!
thanks for watching, Travis!
Thanks bro for the gimbal tricks❤️
Is this the best gimbal to use for the Sony A7iii?
Very nice tutorial. One tutorial I might suggest, is manual focusing when using a gimbal. Not everyone uses a camera with decent autofocus (like myself; I use a Blackmagic camera, and the autofocus on that is not very good - although otherwise it's an excellent camera).
A bts of you doing just about everything would be dope
Great video! Thanks! Going to Utah this weekend taking my my a7riii with my Sony 24 to 105 lens and my zhiyun crane2. Taking my phantom pro to. Hoping to get shots with my crane and camera and a few drone shots .thanks for the video!
hell yeah! get some dope shots!
super bro very use full tut for beginner camera setting and mode
Thanks for this we have learnt a lot

Does the Crane + zoom work with the Sony E PZ 18-105mm?
Hi good job. Just a question: when you use "follow" mode instead of "pan follow"?
Very helpful, Thank Jason!
