I've picked up 2 more a5000s and an a5100 for great prices locally since this video was shot. Just found an a5100 with a lens for $275. No hack needed with that one, would just need dummy battery and cheap capture card.
its a worse version of the ZV-1 but it does have clean hdmi and does decent 1080p and 4k. No optical stabilization but if you don't mind the crop, the digital stabilization works fine. Clean HDMI for use as a webcam too. Its probably the best camera in its price class for what it can do for you.
I find em all the time, and scored a few this year for friends as well as a few a5000s like featured in this video. Sometimes the a5000s are priced just so much better than the a5100s though.
If you think spending a similar amount of money on a webcam setup when this is in the same price range then I'm not entirely sure where you head is at on this. If you're saying save the money and spend it on more expensive mirrorless camera, lens, and capture card setup then you are completely out of touch with the target audience of this solution.
I have a old Canon 550D with a dummy battery connected to my pc, but that one shuts off due Canon restrictions because it's not mirrorless. Do you know a workaround for it or do I have to look for another camera? I know it's not the best option but I choose the 550d because I need a camera to film a crafting desk, not the whole room and it was laying around.
I don't know anything about that camera. Id check the canon eos webcam utility support page to see if it's there and if it isn't, then you'd probably have to sell it and get a different camera

Supply might be running low since it's been out of production for a while, but the a5100 has come down in price a little bit as well so might be worth looking into those too. Found an a5000 on eBay with a lens already for $276, or an a5100 body only for $299. You may also want to check your local market (offerUp, FB marketplace) like mentioned in the video. I've picked up 2 more a5000s and an a5100 for great prices locally since this video was shot. Just found an a5100 with a lens for $275. No hack needed with that one, would just need dummy battery and cheap capture card.
sony a51
You remind me of Boba Fett.
how so?
@@CoalitionGaming You just look similar to a young Temuera Morrison lol.
@@AstralAlien 👍
@@CoalitionGaming do you have any opinion on the Sony ZV-1F?
its a worse version of the ZV-1 but it does have clean hdmi and does decent 1080p and 4k. No optical stabilization but if you don't mind the crop, the digital stabilization works fine. Clean HDMI for use as a webcam too. Its probably the best camera in its price class for what it can do for you.
"budget"
For a mirrorless camera? Absolutely. Even found one on OfferUp last night for $85.
You really can't find 5100s lol
I find em all the time, and scored a few this year for friends as well as a few a5000s like featured in this video. Sometimes the a5000s are priced just so much better than the a5100s though.
and now in 2024 this one is $250 used...........
The good news is that means the a5100, which needs no software "hack" for clean HDMI and has better autofocus, is roughly the same price as these now.
Bro please let me line up yout beard 😄
In some videos beard maybe good, in some videos beard maybe shit

your setup is way too dark man..
thats a preference thing. how can you tell him whats too dark or light?
looks like a good webcam but not close to a profesional camera, I say money wasted
Magic lantern. Use it at your own risk.
