I’m always, as another “Semi famous” Utuber says “In Awe” of the work you produce!!! I number one cannot afford all the fancy post software that adjusts my images to make them all look just so perfect. I like the simplicity of shooting exactly what I see, compose, and leaving it alone!!!!
Some are keepers, some are wow, and some are DUNG!!!! But I’m old school and that’s why I love photography!!!!
That’s why I’m in “Awe” of what you do because!!!!!! It’s in you’re eyes and heart that translate onto the images!!!! Simple and yet complex!!!!
Thanks Thomas for another great adventure!!!!!!

And that wee hike you did.... thats why I own a superzoom (24-240mm in my case). It's not super sharp, BUT, it usually gives you enough for any shot on a scouting hike... and can still print at like 30" x 20" if necessary (if a scene is epic... it's going to be "good enough"). My other option if I am being super light is my Sony RX100 VI which sports a 24-200mm equivalent - but of course its only a 1 inch sensor - so a bit more limiting. Regardless - nice when you don't want to carry a 16-35 F2.8, 24-70 F2.8 and 100-400mm on a scout. Can highly recommend having specific gear for scouting!

I drove my old Focus in 2007 down a very rough road to the red sand beach in west Iceland. Only 4x4s there. Lots of stares. It was a 4x4 route, no damage done but it was a challenge. I rode the ruts and took it slow. I did take fewer "challenges" after that. A route to an old Dew Line radar station out east was toooo rough. Tooth filling rattling and so i felt discretion was the better part of valour 😂😂😂 esp when i had to get back to the uk in the same car.
Did the iceland run again the following year, same car. Sold the car after that, with some sorrow. Probably baked bean cans now although i kept the under bonnet slam panel a mechanic broke (by leaning on it) as a souvenir 😂😂😂

Watching your video while sitting in my own van in a small village in France on a 5 week road trip is surreal. Last night I had the best dark sky I have ever exprienced in my life, seeing the milky way in a clarity and with structure that I've never seen before and this was not even the darkest place of my route. I do astrophotography and I have some equipment with me, but watching your videos encourage me to also do more landscape photography. Fun fact - I have the same or at least a similar portable fire pit with me, but the only campsite that permits a campfire so far was in Switzerland and each camp had it's own fireplace. I hope you enjoyed your trip as much as I do.

Great video, only down side is MPB the sponsor. I have used them twice and each time not a very good experience at all. The last occasion I part ex a lens for use one on the mpb web site only to find it had an error code when I tested it. After some reading of reviews I read this was a common issue with mpb not fully testing the gear, if at all, or the description was incorrect from the actual conditions. Also my part ex lens was knocked down on its value once they received claiming it had a scratch on the rear element. When The deal fell through and I asked for my lens back I had to pay FULL retail price for it from mpb, and when I did get it back I could not find any scratch. I used a macro lens and 45mp camera and did not find any scratch ! !
Problem when a deal with mpb goes south for the consumer it cost them in the pocket !
All mpb offered me was a £10 discount voucher off a £100 spend !

These videos are inspiring, Thomas going to different parts of the world and taking these beautiful photos. I like to watch the ones more in the U.K. because that’s all I can afford to travel to. Iceland is extremely expensive, even if you have a camper, and I would never be able to afford to do that. I wish I could. He’s an exceptional photographer with huge talent. I would like to be a professional but I’ve been told in feedback from my photography club that I just not that good, even though I like my photos.
