    Triple H's character is the coolest in my opinion because he put so much into its development. Hunter Hearst Helmley. A blue blood aristocrat in the style of Talleyrand. Pedigree fitted. Yet as he evolved into a hated but fierce villain, he kept the name and abbreviated HHH into Triple H.

    Him talking about how he introduced the Pedigree reminds of one of Steve Austin's podcasts with Heyman about people being too scared to really think for themselves or push back against bad ideas. Triple H knew the Pedigree was good but WWF wanted him to do a different move. He wasn't sure about it but gave it a try. It didn't turn out good, he knew it needed changed, and he showed them the move he actually wanted to do.

I’m sure everyone in that business has something they’d like to erase at some point in time because certain things don’t age well. We see it in film, television and literature. On camera and behind the scenes. Mark Henry has the right to feel how he feels and so does Booker T. I’m a fan of those guys too. It takes time to grow out of old habits and behaviors and some take longer than others. So I don’t hold a grudge over Shawn and Hunter. They’re all hard working guys who’ve dedicated to their lives to the art of pro wrestling and put the necessary time and effort in to hone their skills for it. They have my respect and that’s all I want to show.

      Anyone notice BOTH the "Pedigree and Stunner" were changed to be safer at some point after the Attitude era?
      With the Pedigree, he used to hold the person's arms the entire time and I assume they would turn their head to not smash their face/nose into the ring (or use their chest, IDK but it looked dangerous)
      Later he started releasing their arms right before impact (I assume) so the person could use their hands and keep from their face/cheek from smashing the ring as hard (less strain on the spine also)
      He also would lean over more slap his hands onto their back to add to the impact.
      With the Stunner, people used to land on their knees
      (which height differences and timing was said that it could mess your jaw up) and some time after the attitude era, I notice in clips that the person taking the Stunner would just squat down while staying on their feet!
      Not sure if for safety reasons or so it could be sold better (like the Rock would do) by doing a "jack in the box" sell factor, being their feet were still flat on the mat.
      I guess this stuff isn't explained in shoot interviews.

    I watched another interview recently wherein it was stated that Trips was happy to stop using the Cutter because he and DDP were friends and he knew how important it was to protect a finish. Page counted this as Hunter being a real standup guy. The alternate take here is…interesting.

    • @Hardytier
      @Hardytier 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Years ago, and I mean 10+, I saw the interview you’re talking about. 100%, the story was that DDP asked HHH directly to not use it and HHH agreed, none of this ddp speaking to someone else to get hhh to not do it and him being relieved.
