  • FASS offers 2 separate heating options for extremely cold temperatures. Instant electric heater with the FASS Electric Heater Kit and ports to allow coolant to flow through the core.

    You don’t need to go to Alaska to test it just try North Dakota

    Your postition of your electric heater is right above the water separator filter. Why do the new videos of the new fass titanium 165 put the water separator filter in the other location. Not below the heating port. My old fass had the water separator below port, closest to rear wheel

      Great question, and thank you for reaching out. Since this video was released we have made a few newer versions of the FASS system. The newer Titanium series systems will have the water separator on the side of the FASS towards the engine.

    isn't the problem with cold weather more that the coolant needs heating up via an Espar or similar device to reduce all the expansion and contraction while starting up in cold weather? heating the fuel is nice but in the winter there is additive in the fuel at the pump, around here anyway (Canada)

      BigB yes there is additives in the fuel here in the states but it’s usually not as good in the southern states but the northern states have a better additive. However it’s not as good as the Canadian blends. And yes on heating the coolant because that also warms up the oil so it will get to the engine parts faster.

      Alot of the fuel here in North Dakota in the winter is P40 from Manitoba.

    So if you ran two electric heating elements could you have one on a switch and one on the key? Would running the coolant heat be smart as well?

    Why would you need the bypass. If you had a single valve on the supply side wouldn’t that be enough? Seems like a 12v valve there and I could switch this on or off from the cab.

      Great question and that is something that should work as well. When we made this video it was quite a few years ago, and we have a few different heating options available now as well. Thank you for reaching out to us!

    so if I get this right I can get one kit (harness and all) and then just add a second element to the one relay? or does it have to be 2 whole kits??

      +AceBoy2099 That would be correct. You would have to hard wire the 2nd element into he harness. We suggest to change the fuse in the wire harness to 20 amps also to handle both elements.

    what size fittings do you use to the H ports on the fass, I know you said 3/8" pipe thread, but what size is the hose barb?

      @FASSFuelSystems  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BigMatt302 You can use either a 3/8" or 1/2" hose barb

    What about the summer ? Is it why you had it wired to a switch ? Winter has been strange here this year, we have seen -25*C maybe 5-6 times ... But the next week it's 5*C ... Also there's a lot of additive in fuel in Canada, I know some truck has been running your kit without any heating but I decided to order 2 heaters for safety. I went wit a sump kit and it looks like some fuel is draining back into the tank when it's on the low side and sitting for 2 days. What would happen if I start those 2 heaters and there's no fuel ? At what temp should I start putting them ON for start up and while cruising the highway ?
    I know there's a lot of questions ... ;)
    Thanks

      The heater probes are controlled by a built in thermostat. They will only turn on when temperatures are in the lower 30*F and turn off with the fuel is around 70*F. You can wire them to a key on power source but the best way is to wire them on a toggle switch so that you can turn the heaters on before the pump is pumping fuel. If the probes are turned on without fuel around them they will burst very quickly.
