    I liked your approach of diagnosing the problem. Most of the viewers do not have the background to identify which component to check using multimeter. Your way is the preferred way instead of replacing the screen and throwing away the existing one. Thanks for your good work. I wish I could get that kind of training, which I always loved. I liked your style of teaching and have already clicked "Like".

    Very helpful video!!!... 1st I had to remove the damaged screen doing exactly as he explained, checked the exact model and rear video connector position, ordered the new screen (making sure it is 100% compatible with the original laptop model + video connector exact location behind), safely store the disassembled laptop parts with care by holding with tape the little screws while waiting for the new part. Once I received the new screen, I followed exactly as this guy explained ensuring that all connectors were properly inserted and... VOILA!... it worked.
    >>> JUST 3 LITTLE EXTRA ADVISES: 1) Keep the NEW front protective (transparent) screen cover on it while re-assembling until you need to put the final frame cover. 2) Be careful not to confuse the bottom screws with the LONGER pair that belongs to the plastic screen cover at the end of this procedure, otherwise won't hold it (as I did it), so you have to swap them all back correctly. 3) Ensure that the plastic frame >>cover hinges

    It could be a missing capacitor or broken track for multiple capacitors on the backlight power circuit, that's causing the backlight to get the "unevened" clean pulse of current. The issue may not occur on charger because in windows settings, the backlight is set to 100% when plugged in, and less than 100% on battery. That is also why it doesn't occur on startup, only after windows logon. The user may have caused that while replacing RAM or HDD, or by slipping a screwdriver in the wrong place

    Found ur channel after ordering a dead motherboard for the IDS port replacement. But then, I tried reflowing the board in the oven (ghetto) 2x and it booted. So I have a flickering screen.
    And haven't removed or found a IDS replacement for my original motherboard. Thank you for this. Just building something 1st time hoping it works.

    I have that problem on my Toshiba. Mostly stable video until I adjust the screen angle, then lots of flashing. But sometimes I get a little flashing when it's just sitting there. I unplugged the charger and it started flashing, but then settled down. It may have just been the movement that caused that. Put the charger back in and moved the screen. Lots of flashing but then it settled down. Would love to get it fixed. It's still a good laptop and it's running a website monitoring program for me.

    as it started ok - and only began to flicker after drivers started to load, I would have guessed at a driver issue. Also, what happens when power options are set to turn off the screen?

    • @retrotech11
      @retrotech11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it loads up ok, and starts flickering when in windows. This could be the adaptive brightness causing an issue with the flickering.

    The solution is very good. I was lucky because it was a software problem. On an Asus x54h laptop with hd7470m graphics card, Windows 10 put the latest video driver and when I set the brightness less than 100%, the backlight lights went out completely, and when I set brightness to 100% they were on the maximum so I couldn't watch to the monitor and the solution was to put an old but good video driver and to block the driver update in windows.
    E foarte buna solutia. Eu am avut noroc pentru ca era o problema de soft. La un laptop Asus x54h cu placa grafica hd7470m Windows-ul 10 punea cel mai recent driver video si cand dadeam luminozitatea mai mica de 100%, ledurile backlight se stingeau complet, iar cand dadeam la 100% erau aprinse la maxim de nu ma puteam uita la monitor si solutia a fost sa pun un driver video vechi dar bun si sa blochez actualizarea driverului in windows.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W-B5224 laptop whose screen flickers. I connected it to an external monitor with a HDMI cable and the display on the external monitor was perfect. I watched a movie for more than one hour non stop with charger connected. While the external monitor screen display was perfect, the laptop screen after flickering for a long time, became dark. So is it a software (Intel Graphics setting) or hardware (damaged/failed) laptop screen issue? I disconnected the touch screen cable, still flickering, pink some time green color flashes, unstable screen color changes continued. Viewer feedback as well as author's feedback is highly appreciated. All the vowels of the key board are out - not working; I am using an external keyboard. I have already tried to load the old display driver and tried. same issue. I have updated the display driver, same issue. Both times, the external monitor display was perfect. Thanks for reading.

      @@jacquesdupontd I don't think you understand the situation. Looks like you're the stupid one here. As you can see in this video, the problem occurs after the windows is loaded and not on bios during startup. That means it is a driver problem rather than a hardware issue. I fixed more than 10 laptops with the same issue like this due to the buggy Intel Display Driver. In your case, that sure is a hardware issue.
