  • Clementi Forest is one of the most beautiful hikes here in Singapore. This video will be a quick little guide on how you can get the most out of your time at Clementi Forest!
    Full Written Guide Here: thetravelintern.com/hiking-cl...
Do note that this isn't an NParks approved hike so do take care and try to stay on the 'unofficial footpath' as much as possible. It is a BEAUTIFUL place so let's keep it that way and try your best to leave no trace of human presence behind.

This guide is pretty accurate even tho it was posted 2 years ago. Went with my friends today 2 Sept 2023. The only part that we didn’t follow is at 3.52 min after the red metal beams near end of canal. The video shows going up on the left of canal but it is too steep now compared to the video and going forward is almost half knee high of water (didn’t rain for 2 days). So we ended up back tracking the route before the red metal beams and walk over to the other side of the rail corridor- it converges to same route on the path if u had followed the video to climb up the slope on the left at 3.52 min.
Best video that I saw on hiking Clementi Forest and if u follow this video, the hike should be safe (u should not get lost) as u soak in the wonders of the nature. Thanks for the clear instructions and video! ❤

Thank you for this detailed guide! Followed it yesterday and it was great! The route through the canal was wet like the video and just want to remind others that if you want, should bring like boots or slippers. The rest was great too! Flat and easy trek, just muddy and slippery. Not too tiring.

Informative, well done video with good shots.
Someone shared with me, that showcased drain, that it is a functional drain, which means when a nearby water bodies reaches its peak, that drain will be the waterway to channel it away to a lower water bodies. It is uncertain if it channels naturally or controlled. By controlled, it means they open up the ‘door’ once the water bodies is overflowing and that could spell troubles for anyone to be in when a sudden gush of water rushes in. Scary.
The information above is not certain or official. But I do know the NParks strongly advised to stay clear of the drain for safety reasons.
I liked the bits about the unofficial trail. In the spirit of adventure, go and explore but do caution that there are some forested areas with clear signs that prohibits any trespassing. Knew someone got fined for that. Stating ignorance and playing dumb did not work for him. Singapore is still a fine city, after all.
Clementi Forest, may you stay long as you are, lush and green.

We been to other forested area like Thomson nature park, Mount faber, labrador Park etc and this is probably most difficult. Main issue is too many big tree obstacles and too muddy and slippery even on sunny days.
