They seriously need to make a Thrash Metal biopic. These stories make a badass funny movie lol.
In order to tell a cohesive story they would probably have to concentrate on one bands story. Metallica is probably the band it would have to be about to drive mainstream movie viewers.

I remember seeing metallica open for Ozzy in Tucson AZ, was on the left side of the stage and Cliff Burton broke 3 strings on his bass and still kept jamming on his bass. RIP Cliff!!!!!!!!!

An epic neo classical thrash band writing epic ballads mixed with heavy riffs and harmonies. Or at least that's what they would be in my perfect little world lol
Kevin Dunn Mustaine would have brought so many epic riffs (he proved it throughout Megadeth's early albums) and cliff would have kept the epic ballad infused, harmony guitars mixed with heavy riff songwriting alive while James creates the heavy riffs spurred on by the incredible band line up that could have been. Oh well, Mustaine was fired from Alcoholica for being an alcoholic. Maybe he was better off on his own with hired hands learning his riffs and songs
Kevin Dunn Oh yeah another thing. Look at it this way. Iced earth writes incredibly epic masterpieces of songs. At least we have them. That's how i look at Metallica dying anyway.

not really . the wah abuse started with black album. up until justice hammett was a great guitar player. sloppy player, awesome writer.
Sgt.James Doakes he was using wah pedal much earlier for example on ride the lightning
Karol Kaczor he used it rarely, like most other guitarist. kirk whammett started with black album when wah made its way into everything.
but he was using it i think that in two song, but now he overuses it

When I was a kid I thought Cliff was overrated, until I realized, one day many years ago,I haven't liked Metallica since Cliff died! Cliff gave Metallica that really fast, heavy sound,in retrospect the guy was an innovative,incredible bass guitarist! Thanks Cliff, for some awesome music!

***** Their first three albums were peerless, they redefined metal, in my opinion. It was all about the palm muting and their over all sound. They are still great musicians, I just prefer their older stuff.
***** Oh yeah, for sure! Sabbath, Priest, Iran Maiden, Motor Head. There are definitely some great bands before Metallica. The other two Metallica albums had some good songs on them. The change in their style was pretty obvious, because of Cliff's death and Jason joining the band. Different producer? I can't remember! Getting to old! LOL
After he died, And Justice was released and it was their heaviest album
2 of the best guitar players in the business - RIGHT THERE (Scott is one of the tightest rhythm guitars I've ever seen live, and while he's stomping around moshing too - and Kirk - pure class....)

Hey guys, some tips for when hiding from British cops: Hide under Kirk's mattress. It always works as a good hiding spot, trust me I'm experienced.

I went to the same high school as kirk
I worked for a small sound reinforcement company in the Bay Area, back in the day. Sometimes, we'd get jobs at local clubs, County Fairs and stuff like that. One gig, we were asked to help beef up the PA at "The Stage" in Danville CA. Well, the band was Trauma and I was first struck by one of the Roadies (friend of the band), who had a cut off football jersey with iron on letters across the shoulders that read, 'Fuckin' Dan'. Then they started playing and Cliff brings out his Rick(enbacker) and lights up the place. He was wearing a shiny (silk?) green Karate gee with a big assed Ankh medallion necklace. and he does this solo with, I think, was a Morley Power wah. I say to myself, "Wait, this is a bass, right?". Well it was, but it didn't sound like a bass. Those were the 'crispiest' sounding round wounds on there with the treble boosted. There were lows too.....Oh there were lows, alright. Just seeing how the future unfolded was a total trip.
This is the most Kirk Hammett has spoken in front of an audience in the entire 30 years he's been in the band. I didn't know he had a personality.
